Hello,

I am at a loss to come up with a good explanation for this. I'm trying to figure out why the Executive would hesitate to make any kind of requested disclosure. How can anything remotely related to a department of energy loan be considered secret? Never mind a subpoena, the workings of the government should be freely disclosed via a much less formal Freedom of Information request.

So...

Why hesitate? Why rebuff? Even a casual interest should be sufficient for full disclosure. The actions of our government are supposed to be public, and this president has further promised transparency.

Is the committee being unreasonable? Are they being partisan? Who cares? These are public records, anyway. Or they should be. Why not hand them over? And on what possible grounds could they refuse?

Transparency and Open Government

Memorandum for the Heads of Executive Departments and Agencies
SUBJECT: Transparency and Open Government

My Administration is committed to creating an unprecedented level of openness in Government. We will work together to ensure the public trust and establish a system of transparency, public participation, and collaboration. Openness will strengthen our democracy and promote efficiency and effectiveness in Government.

Government should be transparent. Transparency promotes accountability and provides information for citizens about what their Government is doing. Information maintained by the Federal Government is a national asset. My Administration will take appropriate action, consistent with law and policy, to disclose information rapidly in forms that the public can readily find and use. Executive departments and agencies should harness new technologies to put information about their operations and decisions online and readily available to the public. Executive departments and agencies should also solicit public feedback to identify information of greatest use to the public.

Hello,

Why do you always say 'Crassic?'

What is the significance of misspelling/mispronouncing that word?

Did you see what I did ? I posted the very own words from this White House, in conjunction with your story on the Solyndra subpoena.

Pretty on point, don't you agree ?

Why do you ALWAYS start off each post with 'Hello' ? Is that really necessary ?

As for 'Crassic', it's just a play on the word 'Classic'. No offense meant, of course.

JONGSSTRAW

Here's what to look forward to in the coming months:

Eric Holder will resign after he's criminally indicted by a Special Prosecutor that the House committee will appoint after the Fast & Furious Congressional Hearings conclude. Also a fair chance he'll resign even before the SP is named.

Barack Obama will not survive unscathed the multi-tentacled scandals involving $ 30 billion in DOE Green Energy loans to many companies owned by the biggest Obama donors. Even the ones that went bankrupt saw those same guys loot the companies in bonuses and expenses right before they went bust...all with our tax dollars of course. Talk about your pay to play! Talk about your well-documented Chicago-style bribery and corruption! It's like Blago on steroids and Robitussin! It was so damn easy for them. They just used the "green" bs as a cover to commit massive fraud. Granted, not as shocking as the $ 140 billion the Democrats heaped upon their pals at Freddie and Fannie, but curiously funny how no green jobs were ever created, and how all the money just disappeared. All the early Obama guys like Summers, Emmanuel, and other resigned co-conspirators who funnelled the loot to the proper donors will all end up pitching or catching somewhere.

Hello,

It is considered polite.

In what way is Crassic a play on the word Classic?

Does the replacement of the 'l' with an 'r' indicate humor? If so, in what context?

Can you help me to get the joke?

Perhaps, to open up a thread, or for a first reply , 'hello' may be seen as polite, but to start off EVERY single post with it, on an internet forum, seems to me as somewhat neurotic and tedious.

But to each their own, or something.

Hello,

From what I can tell, no questions actually need to be answered. This whole matter should be resolvable with a few dozen secretaries and Xerox machines.

That's classified. It might be, but I can't tell you, because you don't have the necessary clearance.

Or should I say it's "crassified", so everyone knows I'm being humorous?

I hope they cooperate sufficiently for there to be a reasonable investigation. They've already turned over lots just by request, before any subpoena was issues, now the request is for lots more material, some of which doesn't pertain to the issue, no doubt so they can go on a fishing expedition.
Quote:

White House Counsel Kathryn Ruemmler, in her letter, scolded GOP lawmakers for demanding more documents, noting the Obama administration has already turned over 85,000 pages of documents in the course of their investigation.

"The Committee's extremely broad request for documents -- now a subpoena -- is a significant intrusion on Executive Branch interests," she wrote, saying she can only conclude the subpoena was "driven more by partisan politics than a legitimate effort to conduct a responsible investigation."

Though the White House has turned over thousands of documents, Republicans say the administration has not provided everything they've requested. The House Energy and Commerce Committee voted Thursday to subpoena, and the subpoenas went out late Thursday to the White House and office of the vice president. http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2802658/posts assume it's the usual political game, is all. I believe both sides play this game from time to time, when they sniff something they might use to go fishing.

Hello,

So 'Crassic' is meant to be humorous because it purports to be an Asian-accented Classic?

I see.

Perhaps I do have brain damage that prevents me from seeing the humor in mocking an ethnic group's pronunciation of a word. Regularly. In any context.

Humor is subjective. But as for the brain damage... it would explain much.

Obviously Rappy here has no such brain damage, because he'll freely make fun of any and every ethnic group, minority group, disabled people, the sick, the poor, the dead...

He really is an equal-opportunity sociopath. Which easily explains why he's a right-winger, of course.

When have I ever made fun of ...every ethnic group, minority group, disabled, the sick, the poor, the dead ?

So, ANYONE who makes sees a bit of humor in something is a sociopath ? Really? Where's your evidence of that ?

Love the distraction tactics here.

As Mr Transparency in the White House is doing his best impression of Nixon, the peanut gallery wants nothing of it, and would rather go barking up a totally irrelevant tree, in more baseless character assassination of anyone who DARES to point out the obvious.

Obama is hiding because he knows his ass is in trouble. Simple as that. This doesn't look bad for his re-election, it looks apocalyptic.

Hi Anthony, I don't mind your "hello"s. I asked about crassic a few weeks ago since Raptor likes saying it. He told me it was like saying classic 2.0, as in, its beyond classic, its CRASSIC. I was able to understand the concept well because of a few words that my best friend Jennifer and I alter to add emphasis or notability to. This isn't a common practice though so I can see why it seems odd to you. I think attributing it to trying to sound pretend-Asian is thinking too far and getting yourself into a dork place.
