Well it's not all that bad, I have a lot of allies on the other side of what used to be the iron curtain, and there's as much good and bad as anywhere - it's just that lingering bullshit McCarthyism combined with insane imperial nationalism infecting our media what makes it look that way sometimes.

Mister "C" is a pretty cool dude, travelled over a hundred miles to moscow JUST to get beat up by the police (rally for gay rights) in hopes they would feel guilty about roughing up an old man.
His hometown don't care, as he is the only civil engineer in the entire region, and the guy who makes shit work can get away with a lot.
