Just days away from the mysterious "Phoenix Lights" 15th anniversary, a local FOX TV affiliate cut to a live traffic report web cam just as a bright flash of light exploded on the screen. What was it?

Despite being witnessed by everyone watching the live report, Phoenix officials haven't been able to identify what caused the blast. An explosion that big should have been reported and heavy damage would be expected. How is that possible?

DALEK!

It looks like it might have been a very distant lighting strike.

I do not fear God, I fear the ignorance of man.

That's what I thought too. The 'blast' appears to originate from ground level, and expand outwards. Just like a transformer blowing. But the local power company says it wasn't one of theirs. It's not some sort of freaky glare, as you can see the buildings in the distance being back lit, so the source is clearly off in the distance.

And the weather wasn't a factor, as the skies were clear at the time. I do love how some try to tie in the connection of the 15th anniversary of the strange lights in the sky, but on its own, it's still a mystery.

My guess is that there's a terrestrial , mundane explanation, but still....

And the timing of the event does seem a bit curious, imo. I mean, the few seconds the news report goes to that particular live traffic cam, this flash appears , and right in the middle of the frame? That'd be hard to sync up, but not impossible, if someone were pulling a gag.

"The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus."

The correct response is:

"That weak-ass story's the best you can come up with?"
