Say WHAA?? I looked at the first post; neither one is mentioned. I also checked the link I had put up; neither is mentioned there, either. Dunno what you mean by this.

How soon they forget.

The link was to the ""Racism is dead in America" Bullshit" thread, and for some reason didn't work.

the first post contained this:

Quote:

Trayvon a 17 year old African American boy was shot in a gated community where his father lives in Florida. He was shot by a self-appointed White Community Watch Captain who was walking around with a gun. Zimmerman the community watch person decided Trayvon looked suspicious. All the boy had was candy and a drink. He was not bothering anyone. He was simply walking from the store to his father's house. So we have to ask ourselves what about the boy made him "look" suspicious? Zimmerman approached the boy after calling the police and the police telling him not to follow the boy.

Disregarding the police Zimmerman approached the boy with a gun and the boy attempted to defend himself. Now Zimmerman who weighed about 100 pounds more than the boy and had a gun is claimng self defense. He shot and killed this innocent boy. The police have not arrested Zimmerman because they claim there is no evidence or witness to counter his claim of self defense. http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-761553?hpt=hp_bn2

Note the stuff I underlined. You posted it. Strange you don't remember it.

ETA: Anyone have any idea why this link won't work?

Good get, Geeze.

As for the links, I have no idea, other than I think I recall it mentioned that the old site was going to be phased out and everything was going to be found here ? Should be able to find it here, regardless... no ?

Ah, you were referring to ANOTHER thread...that's what confused me. As to those two points, do we really have to go through the thing about initial reports often being wrong again? You didn't respond to that part, so I don't know whether you grasped it or not. The updating of Martin's size and height was what I heard the night before I posted it...maybe you guys heard it sooner, I don't know, but it was corrected on the MSM, so that should be the end of that. Did someone BESIDES the MSM have information that Zimmerman was only 50 lbs. heavier than Martin, and if so, do you have cites?

As to Zimmerman's "race", that was reported fairly quickly. Both have been clarified and are no longer (as far as I know) referred to. I posted information to correct the claims of "lies" being spread "all over" the MSM; only one reference to "execution style" and "back of head" by one person; a photograph, which makes the "12-year-0ld" subjective, etc., etc. That was my purpose, and it's been fulfilled.

What was the title of your thread, again?

"Racism is dead in America" Bullshit.

That's because you, and many others, reacted to the "erroneous" information blasted out by the MSM that Zimmerman was White, and that he was much bigger than Martin. The rather out-of-date photos of Zimmerman and Martin also helped fuel the "big racist guy and little Black kid" idea, not to mention broadcast of the edited 911 call.

Once folks got invested in the lies...excuse me, the erroneous information...they weren't gonna let it go when later and less-publicised "corrections" came out and cast doubt on the original story.

If the original story had been "Hispanic Neighborhood watch volunteer erroneously suspects Black youth. Bad judgement and misunderstanding cause shooting tragedy." would folks be so up in arms?

HKCAVALIER

Um, contrary to popular right wing belief, "racism" does not mean "white people suck." You don't need a white person in the vicinity for all sorts of "racism" to occur. That said, I have this kinda terrible fantasy that one day soon the P.C. squad is gonna coin the term "afrophobic" so as to leave mighty whitey out of it and lose nothing of the "black people are inherently dangerous" belief system of which this case still fairly reeks.

As for "Once folks got invested in the lies...excuse me, the erroneous information...they weren't gonna let it go when later and less-publicised "corrections" came out and cast doubt on the original story. "--have you checked any right-wing radio or internet? THEY are still not only invested in believing Martin was a thug an Zimmerman a good guy, they call Martin a gangbanger (tho' he never had ANY affiliation with ANY gang) and far, far worse. For some people it doesn't MATTER what the facts are, at first or later in depth.

As far as I know, nobody, last of all the MSM, is claiming what you say...once corrected, only the correct facts are what I hear. Also, it was CNN who went to the trouble of enhancing the audio, and it sounded like "coons". THEY went to the trouble of enhancing it FURTHER, and broadcast in several of their shows first that it sounded more like "cold", and later that it had been determined to be "punks". Why would they do that if they're as prejudiced as you claim they are?

And yes, racism is alive and well. We still don't know if Zimmerman targeted Martin because he was Black, and probably never will. If he DID, I'll bet it's a case of there having been numerous instances of break-ins, etc., done by Blacks, so it's only "racial profiling", but we'll never know if, had Martin been Caucasian, Zimmerman would have gone to equal lengths to stalk him.

WhatEVER the original story was portrayed as, once the facts came out, especially about the police doing no investigation, taking Zimmerman's word for everything, etc., etc., you better believe the story would have caught fire! AND, if Zimmerman had been Black and Martin White, do you really think it would have been ignored?!? The police sure would have done a thorough investigation, and there wouldn't be much chance of Zimmerman getting the special treatment he did! If you think otherwise, you're deluding yourself--or insisting otherwise despite what you know to be true.

How about a few examples?
Quote:

New Orleans Police Officer Jason Giroir proudly posted: “Act like a Thug Die like one!” After another online commenter criticized Giroir’s statement as racist, Giroir responded back with, “…come on down to our town with a ‘Hoodie’ and you can join Martin in HELL and talk about your racist stories! :-P”
Quote:

The guy had a back pack with his thieving tools something the media seems to forget
Quote:

Let me tell you if zimmermen and gangsta treyvon were in the ring id put money on treyvon. Some punk
Quote:

that thug got what he deserved
Quote:

D you think Zimmerman took the threat more or less seriously because Martin was black, wore a hoodie, had ghetto gold teeth, and was skulking around people's back yards?
Quote:

This is gonna piss off some N*&%%Rs. where is trayvon buried at, I want to scrap his gold caps, should bring a few bucks and help defend Zimmerman against the bullSh it from the left.
You REALLY think accurate news reporting is gonna change any of THESE minds?? People believe what they want to believe, left, right, center, unless they are the kind of people who listen, weigh and discern as best they can from the facts presented. That's what I've tried to do, and I'm not convinced Zimmerman wasn't attacked by Martin; I want a trial with all the facts coming out before I decide for myself. The lack of a trial means ANYONE can say "I was standing my ground" and get off without question. That's insane.

There is no indication Martin was any kind of "thug" or acting like a thug, nor was it reported, but look at all the references to one. NOBODY reported that Martin was "skulking", he was on his way from the store to his father's girlfriend's home. But there it is. The report of a "backpack with thieving tools" is completely inaccurate; I'm guessing they confused the time in school he was found with a screwdriver in his pack?

I still see articles saying the 13-year-old witness fingered Martin, which was long discounted, and other things...some that were heard and accepted mid-way through, some which have been disproven, etc. People believe what they want to believe, irregardless of the facts. "you, and many others, reacted to the "erroneous" information"--so these other people are reacting to...what? Information that was never even reported? If you don't get it, you never will.

Racism IS alive and well in America, period.

By the way, here's an update: Zimmerman's lawyers are claiming he suffered from "shaken baby syndrome", of all things! The fact is that the terrible assault, the injury and the lifelong illness or traumatic death that can be caused by shaking a baby is not also known as Shaken Adult Syndrome. When you shake a baby, its brain does indeed rattle around inside its skull causing terrible life threatening injury and this injury can be sustained in as little as 15 or 20 seconds. However, in an adult or even an older child, the brain has grown to fit in proportion to their skull. While it is in fact possible to have a tragic and fatal head injury in an adult, it is not possible that a traumatic head injury to an adult man could ever be relevantly classified as Shaken Baby Syndrome. It happens to babies because their weak necks have difficulty holding their head straight if they are shaken. None of this applies to Zimmerman.

But here you've settled in your own mind that Zimmerman didn't commit a crime - that the shooting was just a 'tragedy' and a 'misunderstanding' (essentialy that his claim of self defence is true). Here's what I think happened:

GZ stalked TM.
When he got too close, TM asked, "Why are you following me?"
And just as FremdFirma predicted he had, GZ had to play tough,
responding, "What are you doing here?"

At that point, it was still sorta cool, and either man could have
taken the calm way to communicate. But TM's phone cut out, so
we don't know how the confrontation progressed.

We know they got into a scuffle on the ground.

Closest witnesses say they heard a loud, pleading whine -- twice.
My guess is that GZ had the gun out, & TM was in fear for his life.
That couple of seconds, there was the time for GZ to choose sanity.
Did GZ know he had the upper hand? Or did he actually perceive a
new threat from TM? Was TM trying to withdraw?

*BANG!*

I see GZ as the aggressor. TM wasn't willing to be pushed. GZ had a
choice to shoot or not. He chose wrong.

Scene 2: The cops come. It's a routine job for them. But they failed it.
The lead investigator on the case recommended a manslaughter charge to
State Attorney Norm Wolfinger, but was overruled. Was it at this point
the PD decided to drop the ball, and not complete the investigation, to
not collect all the required evidence?

I truly believe that Norm Wolfinger and an agreeable PD found a dead,
black teen of little importance; they were under the spell of their own
habitual racism.

Didn't any of them know GZ well enough to say, "loose cannon! red alert!"?
Perhaps. If so, they were ignored.

The authorities were so callous, they didn't even try to find out who TM
was or "What was he doing there?" It didn't matter!

Bill Cosby weighs in on Trayvon Martin case =>
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/apr/7/simmons-bill-cosby-weig

/

"'The gun.'
Those two simple words flowed easily from the mouth of social
commentator Bill Cosby ...

In '2004, "Mr. Cosby pointed out to the audience that blacks had
essentially created a new lower rung on the socioeconomic ladder
by failing to police their children. Since then, he has traveled
the nation & used social media to expound the virtues of personal
accountability, responsible parenting and a sound education."

Oonj: Above: his two comments that struck me as most significant.
The article is longer, but not exactly in depth.

Cosby brings it, the instant of Trayvon's death, back to gun laws,
gun availability.
But in day-by-day, general matters, back to black people. When he
plays the race card, he plays it on the blacks. I am sure he knows
"long is the way and hard that leads up."

Blacks have created a new lower rung. How come he says this when
he knows they are disadvantaged?

Because he knows that every positive change WE make in our lives
comes from personal responsibility, not blame. Blame is bad,
'cause it fosters crippled attitudes. Blame keeps people down.

Happy Easter!

The website address is TheRealGeorgeZimmerman.com
A PayPal account has been set up on the front page along with

due to so much traffic, so a cached version of the website in
a Google or Yahoo search engine is the only way to view the

Whatever "the media" has done to Zimmerman, it doesn't compare to the "hatchet job" he did on Trayvon Martin. Want proof? Zimmerman is still alive; Martin isn't. If Zimmerman serves time, it will be less than the death sentence he carried out on Martin.

Zimmerman isn't the victim. And the same "hatchet job" by "the media" has been carried out on Trayvon by the right-wing media, who have blatantly lied about him to further their own political agenda.

Your headline didn't 'play up' anything though - it soft-pedalled everything. And it omitted the biggest detail (in terms of why this exploded as a story) - that the shooter was released without charge. Do you really need to ask why the msm didn't write headlines like your one?

The media only downplay details that make the story less of a story (except for partisan media, who downplay details that don't fit with a particular narrative). The media's traditional bias is towards sensationalism.

I'd be surprised if Zimmerman *ISN'T* suffering from something akin to PTSD at this point. Doesn't mean that's why he shot Martin, but the way the story blew up after the fact, he could very well be frazzled and fried. At this point, if he were caught nude and masturbating in the middle of the street, it wouldn't be all that shocking.

The Fame Monster eats people alive, and its hunger is never sated. Hopefully Z isn't found dead in a cheap hotel somewhere with an 8-ball and a hooker, because I would like him to get his day in court. That's really at the crux of this whole mess: the fact that Trayvon never got to present his side, and the idea that the courts weren't making any moves to present it for him. Both sides should be heard, and all the facts taken into account.

What a mess!"

(Speaking as an average person without a degree in psychology)
George Zimmerman reaks of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.

He's no crazier now than he has been for years, but he's under
a huge amount of stress. Makes his disorder(s) more obvious.

Neither he nor his family ever had sense enough to cop to his
problems. This is the result.

For the record, enough time hasn't elapsed for him to get away with saying he has PTSD, sure he's under acute stress, which can cause symptoms like that and its normal for someone going through court stuff, especially if he shot someone, to be kind of messed up right now, but that doesn't mean anything for the long term.

I assume you're my pal until you let me know otherwise.
