Just pointing out your laughable reading comprehension. One is not many, no matter how you spin it.

1kiki was clearly talking about the " teacher ", where as I believe you were talking about the students.

If that latter is true, we can only hope. May be the last chance to save this country from the mindless Obamazombie mindset that has clearly gripped the Union goons in public education.

And yes, Storybook, 1 CAN be too many. But you're too simple to understand that, as well as missing the reference to a line by Jayne, from Firefly.

I quoted and commented on YOUR post, as it appeared, in its entirety. Reading skills ? There's nothing in my quote, of YOUR post, which remotely shows any issue with MY reading skills. You're a sad, pathetic little man, Storybook.

You really are.

Oh, my mistake. I had thought you were actually reading posts in your own thread.

I should have known better. Of course you would latch onto one sentence without bothering to look at the context.

Silly me for thinking you'd bother to read kiki's post before declaring what she really meant. I grossly overesstimated your competence in this instance.

But sure, keep telling yourself Im the pathetic one for following along with the conversation. Like I said, keep the funny coming, boy. You've clearly got nothing else going for you.

Yeah, I don't read each and every post in each and every thread, whether I started it or not. I actually DO have more going for me than to waste time sifting through hundrerds of separate comments. Which is why I took the full quote from YOUR post, and commented on just that. Because, just from quoting YOUR post, it was easy to see how one could confuse the issue, on whether it was the teacher ( who had lost control of her class ) or the students, which were the subject here. And that's the point I was making, that any teacher who was so pathetic and worthless, to engage in such asinine and faulty based arguments, deserves to get over run by his/ her students, and then set up, shown for their utter incompetence, and then suspended.

Too much for you to grasp, of course, but one can hope.

Mal - Where have I LIED in this thread ? Show me. Then show me where I've lied ANYWHERE. Please.

See, this is how it is. I start a thread. Or maybe I don't, and I just comment IN a thread. Almost on que, the usual suspects are going to call me a liar, call me stupid, or accuse me of being that which I'm not - ( Bigoted, homophobic, hating women, racist, etc... ) while completely ignoring the point of the thread in the first place.

Sorry, I'm not going to stand for it. Not even a little. Where I've been wrong, I've admitted to it. Where we have a difference of opinions, I'll fight for my view, and stick to the facts. Others? Not so much. And yet, somehow, in YOUR eyes, that gets painted as me going into PAY ATTENTION TO ME mode.

Bewildering.

So, cry to Niki and say your piece. Not going to change my tune one bit.

Your point was "really" about the teacher losing control of the class, even though you didn't say anything to that effect, and I didn't include that in my quote from kiki.... and you claim to have not read kiki's post....

Of course. He makes it fun for you so he can control you. So who's the monkey?

OK, I guess it's not 100% a bad thing that he/she/it gets his/her/its fix here. I'm guessing that anyone who needs this kind of attention, and will work so hard to keep it, has issues. This is a healthier outlet than other forms of acting out. The downside is that it has pretty much destroyed any other possibilities for these boards.

Really. Do you have any recollection of what it's like here when it's not the 24-hour-feed-the-Rappy-dysfunction show? It can be quite an interesting and informative place. As it is? Not so much.

Yes, I've been watching with (sad) amusement, clarifying facts now and again for others, and trying to skip by the shit. Unfortunately, "the shit" is MOST of what's happening in every thread...

Bang on. As I said long, long ago and keep saying, he's here for one purpose and one purpose only: To trigger others into responding and as a result to get attention. Unfortunately, we have a few who just cannot or will not refrain from responding, so on it goes...

Sad but true. And I would say, "Do you have any recollection of what it was like here when we still had Anthony, CantTakeTheSky, Chrisisall and the others here regularly?" I'm assuming those who are gone got so sick of it they left for good, and those who only pop in now and again got sick of dealing with it regularly. At least then we could drown him out somewhat. With intelligent voices, even!

Mike, Mark, you are two of my favorite posters, but if you could JUST refrain...maybe even for a while, maybe in just a few threads, oh, what a pleasant thing it would be. A goodly number of the rest of us try not to feed the troll, and others have just left, but you two keep it going. Mark, you're adorable, but my gawd you encouarge him!

Oh, just to clarify, Mal4, again: I never said I was going to ignore him, just not take his bait. I reserve the right to mock him, clarify his worst lies, and remind others of what you just did, I just won't respond to him directly and will TRY hard to resist the urge to...well, you know...

I was alluding to the quality of the teacher when I posted she was 'overmatched'. Yes, there are many kids jabbering in the background. But without that particular loudmouth learning would still have been possible. By the hectoring tone of the student, I don't think a thoughtful answer would have been the end of it. I suspect he would have found a way to continue on. I wonder if she had the option to simply send him to the principal's office and be done with it.

About that whole "never happened" thing in regards to people being arrested for criticizing Dubya...

It did happen.

http://boingboing.net/2007/08/17/feds-pay-80000-to-co.html

These people were paid $80,000 by the feds after being wrongly arrested for wearing anti-Bush t-shirts at one of his appearances.

Quote:

On July 4, 2004, Nicole and Jeffery Rank attended President Bush's speech at the West Virginia State Capitol. They were handcuffed, arrested and charged with trespassing for wearing anti-Bush T-shirts. They sued the federal government. Yesterday they settled their suit for $80,000.
The front of their homemade T-shirts had a picture of Bush and the international "no" symbol over his face. The back of Nicole's shirt read "Love America, Hate Bush." The back of Jeffery Rank's T-shirt read "Regime Change Starts at Home."

"This settlement is a real victory not only for our clients but for the First Amendment," said Andrew Schneider, executive director of the ACLU of West Virginia. "As a result of the Ranks' courageous stand, public officials will think twice before they eject peaceful protesters from public events for exercising their right to dissent."

Were they arrested for trespassing, or wearing anti-Bush T shirts ?

It was trespassing, so no, they weren't arrested for merely wearing the T-shirts. Had they been walking down a street, or in a mall, I doubt very much they'd have been 'cuffed and hauled away.

This is ridiculous.

Yeah, Mike, I remembered that one, but didn't think of it as "talking", so didn't mention it. Buuuut, since you bring it up ;o) At the time, they were at a pro-Bush rally, which is why they were arrested:
Quote:

They were on the grounds of the capitol in Charleston, West Virginia, where Bush was giving a speech.

Amidst others who were wearing pro-Bush shirts, the Ranks were wearing shirts with Bush’s name having a line through it. On the back of one of their shirts was: “Love America, Hate Bush.”

They were singled out by White House event staff and local law enforcement, who told them they would have to leave. When they didn’t, they were arrested for trespassing. The city of Charleston, in a matter of days, realized its error and apologized to the Ranks.

It goes on to tell about the “White House Manual for Silencing Critics”:
Quote:

The document also recommends drowning out protesters or blocking their signs by using what it calls “rally squads.” It states: “These squads should be instructed always to look for demonstrators. The rally squad’s task is to use their signs and banners as shields between the demonstrators and the main press platform. If the demonstrators are yelling, rally squads can begin and lead supportive chants to drown out the protestors (USA!, USA!, USA!). As a last resort, security should remove the demonstrators from the event site.” The rest at http://www.aclu.org/free-speech/white-house-policy-illegally-silences-
americans-critical-bush-aclu-charges
. There goes free speech!

Wasn't just them, either, and had nothing to do with "tresspassing"--they had tickets to the event:
Quote:

The Ranks had tickets to attend the July 4, 2004 event, but drew attention when they removed their outer garments to display t-shirts bearing the international "no" symbol (a circle with a diagonal line across it) superimposed over the word "Bush." Although other people in the audience were allowed to wear pro-Bush paraphernalia, White House event staff demanded that the Ranks remove or cover their t-shirts. When the Ranks refused, the White House staffers instructed local police to arrest the couple, causing them to be removed from the Capitol grounds in handcuffs, jailed and charged with trespassing. Ms. Rank was also temporarily suspended from her work with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. City officials later apologized for their part in the arrest when they realized they'd been used as political operatives by the White House.

Similarly, Weise and Young had tickets to attend the March 21, 2005 Denver town hall on Social Security, but they were singled out after a staffer was informed that Weise had a bumper sticker on her car that read, "No More Blood for Oil." Weise was stopped upon entering the event and warned that she had been "ID'd," but was allowed to enter. However, shortly after reaching their seats, Weise and Young were forcibly removed from the event by a staffer who later admitted that he was acting under orders from White House officials.

Removed, despite having paid for tickets, because they had a bumper sticker which didn't even MENTION Bush!

There's also:
Quote:

other occasions throughout the country in which individuals were excluded from presidential events because of their political views. For example, in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, ticket holders in line to hear the president speak had to unbutton their shirts before they could get inside. One individual was wearing a t-shirt critical of the president, and was ejected by security officials. In Fargo, North Dakota, several dozen individuals were placed on a "do not admit list" of those forbidden to attend a presidential event; most of the individuals on the list belonged to a liberal organization, and some had written letters to the editor opposing the president's policies. And in Tucson, Arizona, a student was barred from a presidential forum on Social Security because he was wearing a Young Democrats t-shirt.
So, only one couple was arrested--and that for not even "dissing" Bush verbally. The teacher wasn't that far off the mark after all, was she?

So why did the government pay them off?

They were charged with "trespassing" BECAUSE of the message on their shirts. Nobody else at that rally for Dear Leader Bush was arrested, were they? Weren't they "trespassing" as well, in the same place at the same time?

Or are some trespassers more equal than others, in your view?

They sued, the government caved and paid them off, so that means the government admitted they were wrong to arrest these people for exercising their right to criticize Bush.

That teacher could have never offered up a single example of her claims, given the chance.

Minor details, like which people, and what did they say, she left out. And note how she twice said arrested, and then later added 'reprimanded'.

She has no clue of what she speaks, and it shows.

You said it NEVER happened. "Not one single time" - those were your words. All anyone has to do at that point is show just one single time, and your line of bullshit is exposed for all to see.

So I showed you an example, which you still claim doesn't exist.

These people WERE ARRESTED for speech critical of Bush, something you said could never happen.
