I've been with Apple since '85, but never really had much interest in an iPhone.

I have an iPad a MacBook and an iPod touch 4g, (iTouch4) but have to say I have serious reservations about supporting the company from here on. PN has a point about how Apple acts in China, and I find the running of the App store decidedly anti-free market. I suspect that last is causing samsung/google to surpass them technologically, making the more moral decision easier. (But samsung does outsource its overflow orders,) I think we need a resurgence of some american manufacturers in this like. Surely Motorola or GE or someone could make phones here.

ETA: the absurdity of it just hit me. Yes, of course apple wants to exaggerate the buzz, (remember the omg a white iphone!) but looking past that, This:

Apple is hiring people to interfere in the customer's ability to buy the product.

Yeah, those folks are really interfering w/ the people's ability to buy iPhones, huh?

What ever.

For all the yammering about how wicked Apple is for using low wage workers to produce iPhones, guess what.

Just about every other smart phone is probably using a similar work force.

Quite the conundrum the free-thinking progressive types have here in their admiration of Apple. "Slave labor " making their phones, and the late Steve Jobs' refusal to fork over much of Apples's earnings ( or PROFIT ) in the way of 'charity'.

It's giggle worthy, a bit.
