Quote:Originally posted by Niki2: Penguin, those states are for global mass murders, from what the article said. And I'm not sure how they came to those numbers, but if we look at them one by one just since the turn of the century in OUR country alone, I for one certainly see the numbers increasing:Quote:April 1999 - two teenage schoolboys shot and killed 12 schoolmates and a teacher at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, before killing themselves. I think it's all in how you look at it...the idea that there were the most mass murders in 1929 doesn't fit, for me; that was prohibition and a lot of murders took place, mass and otherwise, and doesn't speak to whether a single individual just opened up on a group of people for no apparent reason or for some personal reason. I imagine most of those were gangster deaths, which puts into question for me how he arrived at his figures. He doesn't say anything, from what I read of the article, about a single gunman or two gunmen just opening up on strangers. JMHO.

To ensure a FREE state, from threats outside and inside the country, is what they clearly had in mind.

Oh well, if all weapons are equal in their killing value, should be some major cuts ahead for the military. Just arm them with rocks. Should be useful next time they see combat action in Afghanistan.

I think it's worth noting that a guy in China flipped out on a school last week, too. Twenty-three people were stabbed and injured. Injured is the really operative word, here. No one was killed. What reason had proved best ceased to look absurd to the eye, which shows how idle it is to think anything ridiculous except what is wrong.
