Again, as I have pointed out many times - without the trigger pullers, without the grunts to carry out their orders, even the worst of tyrants is no more dangerous than a mugger, and this bit here drew my eye.

A Lack of Swordsmen May Lead Saudis to Abolish Beheadings

According to an official statement from the committee, “This solution seems practical, especially in light of shortages in official swordsmen or their belated arrival to execution yards in some incidents.”

While the bulk of the article in question drives off into other topics, that right there drew my notice in that I have to wonder if perhaps said swordsmen have decided to balk, or at the very least, do a bit of a foot-dragging in regards to he job at hand.

If so, that should be encouraged, discretely but strongly, as should any reluctance on behalf of the firing squads they intend to replace them with.

As an aside, personally and philosophically, I think that if you are going to condemn someone to that fate, you damn well have a responsibility to carry out the sentence yourself because it lacks meaning elsewise and demeans the personhood of both the accused and the one making such a decision, becomes inhuman, if not inhumane.

Anyhows, this right here frames just how the reluctance or defiance of even a small portion of a systems enforcers can directly and immediately affect it, and why one should be encouraging that resistance instead of helping them justify "just following orders" - and if that might at times require a level of forgiveness most folks cannot manage, perhaps we should find it within ourselves to do so regardless.

Tis only those who full well know the monstrousness of such orders and revel in it, seek it out, whom I despise - the tyrants issuing them are madmen that I pity, and those forced by ignorance of lack of options into carrying out that will, that I can forgive, cause we've all crossed that line here and there, large and small.

Changing the will of a power mad tyrant is just about impossible, changing the will of the poor luckless bastard about to pull the trigger on you, that's a hell of a lot easier.

WHERE you put the effort, matters.

Yeah. I hate capital punishment for a lot of the same reasons.

People always screaming KILL THE MONSTER!!! who never knew them, don't understand the circumstances, give no consideration to the possibility or innocence, never heard of rehabilition, no interest in getting their own hands dirty, but all those deaths are on THEIR heads. And they have the gall to call other people monsters.

As long as people need money to survive there will be those who can be employed as mercenaries and executioners for any manner of purpose.

HERO

Being an executioner, especially the chop-chop guy is all about art. It takes a great deal of skill and training to be able to properly lop off a head, hand, or other body part without undue pain and suffering, excess injury, or extreme effort. Back in the Middle Ages a good headsman would travel far and wide charging a great deal for his services and providing the best headsman possible was a show of respect and standing by the person who ordered the execution.

The people who do these jobs take a lot of pride in their work and deserve a measure of respect for doing so well a job that many people have neither the ability or inclination to perform.

Sorry, this was a monster who did this. There's no rehab for these acts, no doubt of innocence or guilt.

Fla. Killer Executed for 5 1990 Murders

The bodies of his victims were found over three days in late August, just as the University of Florida's fall semester was beginning. All had been killed with a hunting knife. Some had been mutilated, sexually assaulted and put in shocking poses. One girl's severed head had been placed on a shelf, her body posed as if seated.

Don't ever try to tell me this animal didn't deserve the death penalty.

I'm okay with the death penalty if:
A. The person killed more than one or two people in seperate incidents, exceptions being made if they blew up something or shot 80 people in one fell swoop.
B. There is lots of evidence to show that s/he absolutely purposefully did it and we know it was them, note that eye witnesses aren't very good evidence for anything.
C. We do it humanely, no head lopping or public hangings, people who watch public hangings are no better than the Romans at the collicium, yucky. They go watch people die for fun and that's not Kosure.

That is an interesting idea for a rule though Frem, if you want someone killed for something they did to you or yours you have to man up and do it yourself instead of expecting someone else to do it for you. That way you wouldn't do it unless you really meant it and there would thus be less executions. I think the reason that's not allowed though is because society thinks, rightly or wrongly, that everyone would be getting into these massive blood feuds that just kept going, which I think is entirely possible, Pathans anyone? :)

PIRATENEWS

John Lee, conspiracy therapist at Hollywood award-winner History Channel-mocked SNL-spoofed PirateNew.org wooHOO!!!!!!

Obama and Hillary paid $30-million to Al Qaeda so little kids can learn how to chop off heads off Christians, and Al Qaeda can chops heads off Christian children and feed the bodyparts to dogs on live TV:

Quote:

•Christian Andrei Arbashe, 38, was kidnapped and beheaded by rebel fighters in northern town of Ras Al-Ayn on the Turkish border
•News came as pro-government forces celebrated their victory against rebels near Aleppo Airport

Syrian rebels beheaded a Christian man and fed his body to dogs, according to a nun who says the West is ignoring atrocities committed by Islamic extremists.

The nun said taxi driver Andrei Arbashe, 38, was kidnapped after his brother was heard complaining that fighters against the ruling regime behaved like bandits.

She said his headless corpse was found by the side of the road, surrounded by hungry dogs. He had recently married and was soon to be a father.

Volatile fighting: The news of the kidnapping and beheading of Mr Arbashe came as pro-government forces celebrated their victory against rebels at the Air Defence Base in Tal Hassil near Aleppo Airport last night

Sister Agnes-Mariam de la Croix said: ‘His only crime was his brother criticised the rebels, accused them of acting like bandits, which is what they are.’

There have been a growing number of accounts of atrocities carried out by rogue elements of the Syrian Free Army, which opposes dictator Bashar al-Assad and is recognised by Britain and the West as the legitimate leadership.

•It's the end of the world as we know it... But David Miliband believes Britain can halt the descent into chaos
•More than 60 people killed by an airstrike in Syria as they queue for bread at a bakery in a rebel stronghold

Sister Agnes-Miriam, mother superior of the Monastery of St James the Mutilated, has condemned Britain and the west for supporting the rebels despite growing evidence of human rights abuses. Murder, kidnapping, rape and robbery are becoming commonplace, she says.

‘The free and democratic world is supporting extremists,’ Sister Agnes-Miriam said from her sanctuary in Lebanon. ‘They want to impose Sharia Law and create an Islamic state in Syria.’

Fatal opinion: The man's brother had criticised the behaviour of members of the Free Syrian Army, seen here during heavy clashes with government forces north of Aleppo earlier this month

The 60-year-old Carmelite nun claims the west has turned a blind eye to growing evidence of a ‘fifth column’ of fanatics within the rag-tag ranks that make up the Free Syrian Army that they back to oust Assad.

One of the most effective fighting forces is the Jabat Al-Nusra, which has an ideology similar to Al Qaeda.

‘The uprising has been hijacked by Islamist mercenaries who are more interested in fighting a holy war than in changing the government,’ she said.

‘It has turned into a sectarian conflict. One in which Christians are paying a high price.’

The rebel attacked the northern town of Ras Al-Ayn, on the Turkish border, last month. The fighters entered the Christian quarter, ordering civilians to leave and leaving their homes.

‘More than 200 families were driven out in the night,’ Sister Agnes-Miriam says. ‘People are afraid. Everywhere the deaths squads stop civilians, abduct them and ask for ransom, sometimes they kill them.’

Threat: Sister Agnes-Mariam said that rebel fighters, pictured, are targeting Christians in Syria in a bid to make it a Muslim state

Militants wearing black bandanas of Al Qaeda recently laid siege to the Monastery of St James the Mutilated, located between Damascus and Homs, for two days in an attempt to prevent Christmas celebrations, the nun claims.

An estimated 300,000 Christians have been displaced in the conflict, with 80,000 forced out of the Homs region alone, she claims.

Many have fled abroad raising fears that Syria’s Christian community may vanish - like others across Middle East, the birthplace of Christianity.

Al Assad, a member of the Alawite Muslim sect, claims only his regime can protect Syria’s minorities from domination from the Sunni Muslims majority.

Meanwhile the fighting continues to rage with government forces retaking control of a key district in the city of Homs yesterday.

The latest violence comes after United Nations peace envoy Lakhdar Brahimi warned of ‘hell’ for Syria if no political solution could be found.

Russia has stated the conflict is becoming increasingly militarised and sectarian and risks bringing chaos to the whole region.

Some 60,000 people have been murdered since Obama's jooish bankster plot against the Al Assad regime began in March 2011.
