I love the song on levels I don't even understand.

This song means so much to me, although I've never actually tasted a strawberry.

I was one of those over-fed kids that hated fruits and vegetables and wouldn't eat a burger unless it came in a Happy Meal.

Fortunately, there's not a vegetable today that I won't eat and actually don't enjoy if prepared. Unfortunately, outside of apples and bananas and the occasional orange or grape, I don't know anything of the wonders of science that a regular fruit diet would do for me.

I have seriously never tasted a cherry, a strawberry or a blueberry.....

I wonder, at 34, how much I would benefit from a diet with all those anti-oxidants?

I haven't listend to this particular track from the Beatles Anthology that was first introduced when I was a Junior in HS......

I must have listened to it hundreds of times.....

I guess what I'm saying is that all the kids coming up have hope of making real music just like the Beatles did.

Don't be pissed at your parents or older siblings when they hate ALL of "your music".

Percentage/wise, the Beatles were such a large international market share that they invaded EVERY house with a black and white TV and were instantly the fantasy of the girls in the house lucky enough to have one at the time.

I don't get The Elvis "Thing", but I get it.....

It's probably like arguing about if Nirvana or Pearl Jam were better....... (I told them that Weird Al's "Smells Like Team Spirit" was better than any of their "stupid" bands)

Or maybe Ford or Chevy....

Or maybe Goddamned Republican or Democrat.......

Stupid, duplicitous, non-productive arguments.

I'm sure most of you under 30 have never heard this perfect version of Hide Your Love Away.

The only ones who grew up knowing about just how awesome it was to be a teen the year this was recorded are nearly old enough to be the old lady talking about the past on Titanic....

Nevermind.... Just enjoy it.

I wouldn't understand if you tried to tell me how a strawberry tasted either. ;)

Oh hey Jack, we were wondering where you were.

It's funny, you posting song threads is sometimes the only way we know you're still okay.

And THAT'S why your teeth are falling out. I've read that berries have an enzyme in them that help strengthen your gums, and from the evidence I've seen of people that don't eat berries- they usually do have various dental problems. I'd try blueberries (chilled are better) because there are fewer people with allergies to them than strawberries and cherries...

Maybe you should record it and put it on youtube. I'd be interested in what your reaction would be.

Half the time I'm wondering where I am, so that makes at least 3 of us ;)

Beatles are awesome. :)

Can't stand a single word that came from McCartney's mouth after the fact, but the 4 of them really had something magical. The more cynical I get over the years the more I tend to lean on their LSD tripping days, but I still like all their stuff.

I should try all of them I suppose. Who knows? Maybe I'll think on of them were the best tasting thing I've ever eaten in my life? Probably not, but maybe....

STOP THE PRESS ;)

No teeth have fallen out yet. They've just been marked for death is all.

I hear that blueberries are awesome and I don't know what I'm missing. I think I'll wait until my Mom goes to the blueberry fest this year and see if they can pick me up a few.

If I'm going to finally pop my Bluberry at 35 years old, might as well have the best, right?

Did you get nailed with those huge storms Monday night Wish?

I have a 200 lb. or so branch that fell off one of my Maple trees. It fell "sunny side up" and the heaviest part managed to lodge itself at least a foot deep in my lawn and it's leaning against the tree with it's branches intertwined with the rest of the tree. As strong as I am, I can't even get it to move an inch. I'm going to have to see if somebody around here has a chainsaw. I'm pretty sure I can move the branch to the street for pickup if I can cut it, but the way it rests now I might as well just try to knock the whole tree down with my bare hands for all the good it will do me.

Hope you're power's still on and your community doesn't look like a tornado hit it :)

EDITED TO ADD: Boy, do I wish my teeth were rooted that firmly in place :)

Naw, rained like hell and all the sirens went off, but we're good.
Nice and livable temp-wise now

Do you own an axe? Hubby loves 'em, we've got 6. He'd be all over that in a minute. Nothin' left but chips...

Glad it's all good by you. The branch is easy peasy... My electric stayed on and my sump pump went off every 3 minutes for 2 days straight..... :)

I do not own an axe. Until now, I never would have really considered needing one.

In the end, I didn't. 2 batteries worth of my Dewalt sawzall made short work of it....

As I suspected, the limb was buried about 1 1/2 feet deep into the ground. After sawing off the rest of the limb from the new "trunk" I was able to muscle the rest of the branches that were intertwined with the rest of the tree.

Any thoughts of being able to drag the entire giant limb to my garage were instantly thwarted when the surface area of the brances and leaves made it so I could only move it a few feet before wanting to collapse and wondering if I was having a heart attack.....

Even after cutting off all the branches, it still had to be at least 2-3 hundred pounds I dragged to the street for trash pickup. I don't know if they'll even be able to take the log as-is. I hope light haulers take it away for firewood.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

Brenda

I never could stand them either, and then I realized that for me, it's how they're played. Sometimes I DO like them.

how about this song?

or this (starting minute 4)?

SAGAN: We are releasing vast quantities of carbon dioxide, increasing the greenhouse effect. It may not take much to destabilize the Earth's climate, to convert this heaven, our only home in the cosmos, into a kind of hell.

My bad... violins are pretty cool. :)

Call me a bitch for liking anything Celine Dion did, but to but waiting for you or who loves you more, whatever it's called, is what first made me fall in love with the sonic qualities of a violin played by true talent.

\

This is one of my favorite songs ever.

I don't think after all these years that I could ever feel those emotions again, even while listening to this song, but I do admit that just listening to it now opens my defenses up from an angle I wouldn't expect to be penetrated.....

One of the World's Perfect Songs.....

A sonic and verbal delight from start to finish.

Would never have been possible without a Violin, Brenda ;)

Do Right, Be Right. :)
