Lucky number 13.

Well, the do-nothing Congress is slowly moseying into the sunset, but before it rides off quietly, here's a parting shot. Well, more like a whimper, but there was a big thud.................

"The big takeaway from the report is that Issa found no connection to the White House in the IRS scandal."

Excerpts of the report were released to the press without it being shared with his democratic colleagues on the Oversight Committee. Is that normal? Don't they get a chance to review the report before releasing it to the media? Hmmmm, wasn't it Issa and others who claimed the IRS was withholding certain emails, and here you have the Chairman himself sneaking about and withholding documents from his fellow Committee members.

"The full evidence reveals that there is nothing to the IRS conspiracy theory. That is why Darrell Issa refuses to make all of the interview transcripts public."

Well, isn't that special!

Here's the full article, enjoy reading (from a Liberal rag known as the Politicus USA:

So yet another heap of crap non-scandal is shown to be exactly the garbage we already knew it would be.

Is anyone who isn't a Republican really surprised by this?

Nope. But don't think it will make a difference. Most republicans will never see it. It will not be reported on fox. Most uv the radio ranters will continue to repeat the lie. And I'd be mildly suprized if it gets much air play on the real news.

Well, I never saw it in the MSM, so the press obviously smothered it in its cradle and then gave it a quick burial in the dumpster.

Well, this is a part of the GOP strategy. When it's not in their favor they submit it as part of the late-day news dump. Notice the time of the article (5:57 p.m.) and then they leave so as not to answer any questions that may arise. Besides the MSMM are looking for the juicy/sexy story that will get viewers attention. They would consider this less than fluff.

If the GOP wanted headlines, they could get it. But they know how to market a story. Of course, this is less than bullshit news, but interesting none-the-less because of the GOP's rhetoric. The end result is that the loudness of their boisterous complaints is only equal to the roaring sound of their whimper.

It never stops a Republican from making claims, but that report didn't prove what it claimed to prove. The Republicans still claim in the report's so-called "Findings" that there are numerous scandals.

Just to show you the Republicans are undaunted, read Darrell Issa's The Internal Revenue Service’s Targeting of Conservative Tax-Exempt Applicants: Report of Findings for the 113th Congress http://www.truthrevolt.org/news/issa-releases-damning-report-irs-scand
al

Quote:

Findings
The Committee’s investigation has resulted in the following findings to date about the Internal Revenue Service’s inappropriate treatment of tax-exempt applicants:

The Internal Revenue Service targeted conservative-oriented applicants for taxexempt status;

Unlike applications from conservative groups, the small batch of applications from liberal-oriented groups received additional scrutiny for non-political reasons. Of the applications that received additional scrutiny, only seven contained the word “progress” or “progressive,” all of which were subsequently approved by the IRS, while Tea Party groups were subjected to an unprecedented degree of review and years-long delays.

Senior Internal Revenue Service officials covered up the misconduct and misled Congress about the existence and nature of the targeting;

The Internal Revenue Service sought to rein in conservative-oriented non-profits as early as 2010;

The Administration is using the targeting as pretext to support its proposed regulation to limit political speech of conservative non-profits;

Mismanagement among the senior leadership of the Internal Revenue Service contributed to the targeting;

The Internal Revenue Service and the Obama Administration knowingly and wrongly blamed line-level employees for the misconduct;

Employees of the Internal Revenue Service inappropriately used non-official e-mail to conduct official government business;

The Internal Revenue Service has compromised its traditional position as an independent tax administrator;

The Obama Administration exhibited a lack of accountability for the IRS misconduct;

Lois Lerner’s refusal to testify hindered the Committee’s investigation;

The Internal Revenue Service obstructed the Committee’s investigation;

and

The White House and congressional Democrats obstructed the Committee’s investigation.

That is the GOP approach or stratagem. Accuse, accuse, accuse and insinuate so as to bring doubt and confusion as to the actual facts of the case. Of course Issa and company have no proof or evidence - which makes their conspiracy theories look somewhat credible (doubt and confusion if documents proving same really do exist, if neither party can produce, it makes people believe there is a cover-up).

Has Issa, or anyone, ever produce a single shred of evidence that a cover up took place. At least with Watergate, there was some evidence. In this day and age, with all the sophisticated surveillance tools and equipment, they can't come up with a single piece of document that will put Dems, and the White House, at the scene of the crime. So far, it's been hearsay and rhetoric. Cherry picking items is not very convincing.

Everybody in Washington, but especially Darrell Issa of the report, has learned this very damaging lesson, which is that if somebody else holds the White House, but you have blocking power, sabotage works. The voters aren't going to stop Darrell Issa in California. Nobody, certainly no Democrat, will punch his face for a misleading report. He'll be praised for his "hard work" on the committee's report. Just because there was no link FOUND, doesn't remotely mean there was no story here.

Washington (CNN) -- The latest report from House Republicans on IRS targeting of conservative groups - their sixth - says the tax collection agency "systematically targeted" conservative groups over the course of two years and ties the behavior to a "culture of bias" among IRS employees.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrel Issa slams IRS officials in the report for their "inability to keep politics out of objective decisions" and points to a "general loathing" toward conservative organizations.

The report -- Issa's last before he hands his gavel over to Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz -- also explicitly spreads the blame beyond Lois Lerner to seven other top IRS officials, singling out two former IRS commissioners, the agency's chief counsel and several others.

But Issa has yet to find a smoking gun linking the IRS's inappropriate screenings to political direction from the White House. That effort will continue under Chaffetz.

"The fact-finding is not yet complete," according to the the report.

The IRS still has yet to comply with three subpoenas requesting more documents and records and under Chaffetz's leadership, the Committee is expected to look into another 30,000 newly recovered emails to and from Lois Lerner, the now-former IRS official who has been at the center of the probe.

The Senate Finance Committee, which will be chaired by Republican Sen Orrin Hatch in January, is also conducting an investigation.

There is a run of conspiracy theories in Russia, of all places, that shines light on Darrell Issa's report. Sometimes it is called "political confabulation". Sometimes it is called "invented memory". Sometimes the people could be called "honest liars". They truly believe in what they say. http://standpointmag.co.uk/node/5889/full

Looking in from outside Russia, with a few proven facts, emphasis on proven, it is easy to see that it is make believe. But the Russians can't see themselves for what they are. They can't. Neither can Republicans. They will not give up their story telling. They can't stop themselves. They believe in the power of their imagination. And, worse, they have nukes, both the Russians and the Republicans.

Any way you look at it Mr. Issa and his two committees have been utter failures. And the Senate ones have been just as impotent. Unwavering obstruction by Obama allies has proven to be mightier than the rule of law.

With no real power, and suspects who all close ranks and keep mum, there really is little that can be done w/ out DOJ help.

Russia is make-believe? HAHAHAHA!!!

As far as "not seeing themselves for what they are", I think Americans take the cake, and the EU is in second place. - Oh, and that includes liberals - Somehow, killing millions, installing tyrannies, and impoverishing hundreds of millions is seen as a "fight for freedom". We are the inescapable .... er, indispensable... nation, dontcha know. Obama said so.
