The Berlin chapter of the American Jewish Committee (AFC) condemned statements made by Jürgen Gansel, a deputy in the Saxony state legislature for the far-right National Democratic Party of Germany, against Obama's election as the first African-American US president.

In a statement from his office entitled "Africa conquers the White House," Gansel said multicultural America sought the destruction of "pure" national cultures and that Obama aimed to destroy the United States' "white identity."

"A non-white America is a declaration of war on all people who believe an organically grown social order based on language and culture, history and heritage to be the essence of humanity," he said.

"Barack Obama hides this declaration of war behind his pushy sunshine smile."

Gansel said Obama's triumph was the product of "the American alliance of Jews and Negroes" and warned the president-elect enjoyed too much popularity in Germany.

"Many people in the 'diverse' republic Germany have been swept up in Obama fever which resembles an African tropical disease," he said. Gansel said he hoped that Obama's voters would be quickly disappointed by his performance and rise up against the US government.

"It would be a gross irony of history if the first black president drove his clientele of minorities to openly revolt due to his grandiose domestic failure, and the much-touted American dream became a nightmare," he said.

I don't see the end result being that his own people revolt against him and it being a race thing, but I do believe very much that he will be a major letdown to all who voted for him. He'll be in "control" of a megalomaniacal DC that Bush was in just as much control of.

Until there is a third party voted in, there will never truly be any significant change.

Come 2009, people will begin to realize that, although there will certainly be cosmetic changes, the core of corruption will not be altered in any way, except possibly allowed to grow even more.

Obama is just the new shade of lipstick on the same old two-headed pig.

Everywhere has their own version, don't they?

The disturbing thing, though, is that this guy is part of a political party that is affiliated with neo-nazism and has been making some gains in the Eastern Germany and other economically weak areas. People are and have been trying to get the party banned entirely, in particular to cut its funding. I WISH this was just a person spreading their ideas on an internet forum somewhere.

What I'm *really* hoping for (and with no good reason or precedent) is that Obama will start dismantling that megalomaniacal political machine and start aiming the ship of state back towards a course consistent with the Constitution of the United States.

It's a thin hope, but it's about all that's left us...

Something to truly hope for. Unlike the hardline Republican unwaverers, I do hold hope that there will be some real change. Unlike the Dems who are mindlessly celebrating now, I have seen too many things clearly to really believe that anything here really will change. He's not just the liberal's president now, just as Bush was not just the republican's president. He is all of our president now.

There's been a lot of hype about him and he's already showing more of the same things unfortunately. He's already lining up the lobbyists that he said he would never let get close to him. Hopefully there is a benevolent reason behind this, and not more of the same. Maybe he'll make some public display of their career termination and hold them up for the public to see that he isn't in anyone's pockets.

I'll hold back some of the other things I've heard about his campaign contributions and such until more information is released on the subject. I'll just say it's a bit suspicious and people shouldn't turn a blind eye to it out of sheer partisanship.

Here's hoping for the best

That's my stance right now. Hope I'm wrong, but I'm not holding my breath.

I've got too much smoking to do

BTW... Nice Bill Murray refrence, considering earlier posts
