"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

Well, maybe he should READ it first, because he keeps on quoting things that aren't anywhere in that document.

Quote:

We don’t need to rewrite the Constitution of the United States of America, we need to reread the Constitution and enforce the Constitution. … And I know that there are some people that are not going to do that, so for the benefit of those who are not going to read it because they don’t want us to go by the Constitution, there’s a little section in there that talks about “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

You know, those ideals that we live by, we believe in, your parents believed in, they instilled in you. When you get to the part about “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” don’t stop there, keep reading. Cause that’s when it says “when any form of government becomes destructive of those ideals, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it.” We’ve got some altering and some abolishing to do!

In case you weren't aware, neither of those passages is anywhere in the U.S. Constitution. Cain is referencing the Declaration of Independence, and he clearly doesn't know the difference between the two documents.

To be fair, though, he's hardly the first GOP-bagger to make this mistake.

Herman Cain says he knows that there are some people that won't re-read the Constitution. In fact, he's counting on it - 'cause if they did, they'd realize that he doesn't know what he's talking about!

As chairman of the Kansas City branch of the private jewish "Federal" Reserve Bank that counterfeits all "dollar bills" and steals 100% of all fed income taxes, Cain knows all about overthrowing the US Govt, BECAUSE HE HAS ALREADY BEEN THERE DONE THAT.

You are technically correct, but I think most people would agree that the constitution was built on the premise and foundation of our declaration of independence and those words didn't even need to be put in....it was just understood. And I'm sure you are just poking fun at Mr. Cain's ignorance and not his notion that life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness away from government tyranny is a good thing.

I don't think Mike was saying anything about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, I think he was making note of the fact that, like so many other politicians, Cain is happy to throw around concepts he's heard or known about with having feeling any responsibility for being ACCURATE. It's so common it's hardly worth noting, tho' the media is happy to note it...over and over and over again...when any politician flubs like that.

There's no need to be RIGHT anymore, especially (tho' by far not exclusively) ON the right; they say whatever they want, truth or not, which they know will move or please the people to whom they are speaking. Nobody's going to call them on it, that's an accepted fact now...oh, the media may point it out, but their proponents will just ignore that.

It's all fair game now; one can say one's words were "not intended to be a factual statement" or change their stance, then say any ad SHOWING what they said is a "lie" (!), and few will notice, nobody in their own party will remark on the absurdity of it. There are no boundaries any more, no responsibility for anything.

By the way, Mike; he doesn't need to RE-read the Constitution, he needs to READ it (not that he will). I imagine damned few of our legislators OR candidates has ever read the Constitution, Bill of Rights OR Declaration!

Then of course the question becomes: What exactly DO they win? A country they're destroying as a result of their own stupidity? Pretty much...

Well, maybe we should all take a deep breath, stop cheerleading, take note, and then fix this shit....I have no problem taking money from our war machine and using it on domestic issues...as long as their is a reduction in our budget...I'd rather have money for us than a bomb in Iraq...I have always held that point...I am a ron paul guy...you know that , right

Again, if you're claiming I'm "cheerleading", you've go tme wrong. I think it's horrendous the way ANY of them, right or left, carelessly use the Constitution, Bill of Rights OR Declaration as political ploys.

How do you propose "fixing" this shit? I'd really like to know.

I don't know who you support or what you believe in. Your previous posts haven't shown anything but hate and obscenities, I believe I mentioned that long ago; that if you had any real opinions to voice, we might be able to converse. If you continue to actually communicate, we can FIND OUT what you're for and against. Until now, I had no idea, except that you hated me to the point of absurdity.

You pretty much nailed it, Niki.

Meanwhile, a 16 year-old girl who challenged Michele Bachmann to a debate on the Constitution and American history has faced a fierce backlash from the tea party and Bachmann's supporters, with some vowing to publish the little girl's home address, and one even posting that she should be raped, as if that would teach her a lesson and put her in her place.

And all this, despite the fact that the girl is 100% right, and Bachmann is routinely - and laughably - wrong in her claims regarding the document and our history.
