"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

Quoth Rush Limbaugh,

Quote:

When women got the right to vote is when it all went downhill.

"I supported Bush in 2000 and 2004 and intellegence [sic] had very little to do with that decision." - Hero

"I've not watched the video either, or am incapable of intellectually dealing with the substance of this thread, so I'll instead act like a juvenile and claim victory..." - Rappy

Aw, he was just joking, and besides he's just an entertainer, and besides, he was probably misquoted and taken out of context by the liberal lame stream media.

Right!

Hmm. I should look into the source of this. But if it is true, I have to wonder sometimes about how some of these right-wing personalities reconcile these ideas with their support of people like Sarah Palin and Anne Coulter (who also, strangely, said that women should not vote... though I suspect she exercises that right anyway).

Perhaps these statements are not believed by them anyway, and rather meant as an appeal to male listeners of a religious or "family values" persuasion. Otherwise, I can't reconcile the contradiction.

They've always felt that way, and...

THAT for them who thought I was being all paranoid and alarmist about it.

Nowadays the only DIFFERENCE is, in large part due to them getting away with so bloody much while everyone was dismissing it as hyperbole, this agenda has progressed far enough that they dare say it out loud and in public.
NEVER forget WHAT. THEY. ARE.
Quote:

it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth - and listen to the song of the siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst and to provide for it.

*I* say it's time to get out the Chair Leg of Truth and speedily apply it!

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Amen Frem, especially about the part that they've been so emboldened by their gains at the state level and how they've been able to stymie Obama and the Dems at every turn, AND get all their anti-choice shit put in bills (like healtchare) in hopes of gaining their vote, that some of the less circumspect feel free to say whatever they want with impunity.

As to Limbaugh, he's a freak of nature and says what he says to get ratings...wasn't it O'Reilly who said "I'm a rodeo clown; anyone who takes me seriously is stupid" or something like that? Goes double for Limbaugh, who has always been at the forefront of stupid, over-the-top rhetoric. Nothing new there.
