No party--some other idiot right-wing service will pick up Limbaugh, his time is not yet come (but hopefully it's coming). May be close to the end for Hannity, tho', this is his second strike.

No, just a quiet smile and small sigh of relief; if we could get the extremist hate-mongers to have less control over their malleable audience, things might start to improve. It's only a beginning...but thanx for starting my morning with a smile.

Despite the headlines, it's already being spun amusingly:

Limbaugh rushing out of Cumulus Media to WOR, Sean Hannity in tow

Rush Limbaugh's contentious and seemingly inevitable divorce from Cumulus Media and WABC has moved another step closer to reality, according to a published report Sunday - and Sean Hannity may be leaving with him.

New York radio observers have been expecting for the past year that Limbaugh and probably Hannity would leave WABC, which is owned by Cumulus, for rival WOR.

WOR was purchased last year by Clear Channel, which owns Premiere Networks, which syndicates the Limbaugh and Hannity shows.

"Cumulus prefers to use its own talent, and Clear Channel is happy to bring Premiere talent in-house," said Robert Unmacht of iN3 Partners, a media group.

Politico reported Sunday that talks between Premiere and Cumulus had broken down over the cost of renewal rights for the conservative hosts, who have the two most popular radio talk shows in the country and have anchored WABC afternoons for more than a decade.

Their Cumulus deals reportedly expire at the end of the year.

This report follows an indirect, but sharp exchange this spring between Cumulus CEO Lew Dickey and Limbaugh over Limbaugh's value to Cumulus stations.

Noting that advertisers had left Limbaugh's show after his controversial remarks about birth control advocate Sandra Fluke, Dickey said Rush had cost Cumulus millions of dollars.

Limbaugh fired back that Dickey was blaming Rush for the shortcomings of his ad sales department.

Politico's report suggested that if Cumulus does not renew Limbaugh and Hannity, that could leave their shows unavailable in some 40 cities. Many of those have a Clear Channel outlet that would be happy to have new brand-name hosts.

Speculation about possible replacements at WABC for Limbaugh's noon-3 p.m. show and Hannity's 3-6 p.m. show has focused on Mike Huckabee and WABC evening hosts Mark Levin and Michael Savage, who signed with Cumulus last year.

While Cumulus has noted that Savage has strong ratings, he has also made some controversial remarks that could present their own challenge in ad sales.

A Limbaugh spokesman could not be reached for comment Sunday and a Cumulus spokesman said, "Cumulus is not in a position to comment about negotiations with talent under contract, no matter what the rumor of the day might be." http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/rush-hannity-leaving-cumulus-

I'm glad liberals are planning to party for Rush and Sean in celebration of their move to Clear Channel for more money and more listeners.

It really is funny watching the spin from the left, as Rush & Sean will still be on the air , making tons of $, with a huge audience. AirAmerica? Long since silenced for lack if any audience.

Whooz,

I find a difference between your header and the content of the linked story.

Kinda like,"Wife stabs husband 19 times. He's in the hospital, she's in jail." vs. " Husband and wife in amicable separation."

Oh, let 'em have their fun, NewOld. They like to fantasize; the fact that it's a minor story, "libs" don't react the way they like to imagine, Limbaugh and Hannity aren't the end-all/be-all and their radio audience is an extremely aging, out-of-touch demographic (as is that of FauxNews) doesn't fit in their world view. Don't rain on their parade. ;o)

Tho' yes, neither Limbaugh nor Hannity was "fired", poor little zit can't even get that right...maybe he needs to believe that for some reason, so let the little guy have his illusions.

It's just a wacky headline to draw attention to the story.

I cannot imagine any scenario where I would listen to political punditry on the radio. I just don't get it. There's all these "Conservatives" on the radio all day, dozens of 'em..... what good do they do? What does it all add up to for winning policy debates or elections?.... jack squat.

The only thing more laughable and pathetic than these radio shows are the ever-tweaked Liberals who freak out at their very existence. I suppose that can be considered a plus in the worthiness column, but it seems like a lot of wasted time and energy just to sell tires, male enhancement pills, and car insurance.

I'm in a warehouse all day surrounded by assholes, talkradio keeps me company. Plus Rush pisses off a few of the dimwits I work with. Today I got into a chat (with one of the few guys I like working with) about how unions suck.

That sounds like torture to me, even if it's coming from people who believe like I do. I can't stomach talking politics in public. I just don't want to hear or discuss any of it. Nothing good comes of it. But hey, if it works for you.... great!. Yanno, a little music might not hurt you during the day either.

Imagine some 'oldies' in the warehouse..... Skyyyyyyyyyyyyy Pilot.....

I listen to music when Geraldo Rivera's on from 10 to Noon, I listen to 77 WABC out of NYC. But if Rush moves then I won't be listening to it ever again.

For the first time in a very long time, we agree.

They rile up the base...on any "side"...and since it's people like that who listen, who want to hear the hate and WANT to be riled up, advertisers pay good money for it. The kinds of people who listen to talk radio are also the easiest type of people to manipulate into buying products. Always follow the money. That goes, in case I wasn't clear, for talk radio and shock jocks on the right, left, middle, up and down.

Just out of curiosity, are you referring to anyone here by "ever-tweaked Liberals"? If so, I'd really like to know exactly who's been "freaking out", 'cuz I haven't noticed it.

Yeah. Best to stay ignorant of what's going on in D.C., and in the world.

Yeah. Buying products is for suckers.

Unlike t.v. and newspaper, the audience in talk radio shows can actually respond to what's being said.
