I love a good barnstorming, don't you?

Ah, Miracle Max....you can't go wrong with some good old fashion miracles.
Of course, don't rush it 'cause you'll only get bad miracles....ha!

Of course, there's no accounting for taste...

"Me thinks doth protest too much" paraphrasing the Bard.

Trouble is that "behind closed doors" and secret are two different things.
I got a good hardy laugh when I heard that several Republican Congressmen
were in the closed-door deposition, got up and left to join the protest that
the Dems were holding a closed door session without them...what!?

That's right, they were protesting against the process of the closed door
session, or deposition of Laura Cooper, because Republicans were being excluded. But, if you're in the session behind the closed doors, then why would you leave to protest that you're being excluded? Does that make sense to you?

Then, as the day went on, I find out that the closed door sessions rules were set by the Republicans back in - wait for it - 2015, during the last of the Bhengazi "inquisition." So they are protesting their own rules. Again, does that make sense to you?

Even Judge Napolitano broke it down:

One problem I have with him saying the meetings are held in secret is a misnomer. They are held behind closed doors, big difference. Secret connotes
classified info etc. House Republicans get to question, or depose, the witness. I saw another interview with a Dem committee member who said that
each member gets an hour, but that only committee members get to attend and that the committee comprises both Dems and Repubs.

The way these idiots made it sound during their little "stunt" is that they are being "held out." A fucking lie as usual. That moron Gaetz (or whatever the fuck his name is), is not allowed in because he's on the Judiciary committee, not the Oversight committee. Read your own rules you fucking idiot.

Napolitano says: "this is not the most effective way to show respect for what your colleagues are doing." As he tried to explain the rules to the 3 Stooges at F&F. He laid it on the line, short, sweet and to the point.

And, as if that isn't enough, these fucking clowns had a meeting with Trump to discuss their little protest tantrum so as to appease his fragile state of mind (what little he has). Of course, Trump was as giddy as a little school girl upon hearing that they were doing something, no matter how desperate, to show him love. Obviously he's grown tired of sucking his thumb, curled up in the fetal position, underneath the Oval office desk.

Have fun storming the castle!

It's about time the Republicans found some balls, if the Republicans did what the Dumocrats are doing by hiding behind closed doors, the Fake News would be the ones demanding to get in. California is a disaster in so many ways and Botox Pelosi (from C.A.) is more worried about beating Trump...who's driving them bat shit crazy. Botox face should go home to California and see what she can do about the fires, the homeless, high gas prices and rolling black out's and take Shift with her, he's also from California. California is quickly turning into a 3rd world country and they can't blame Trump OR Republicans for it. Also, Rep Hill who is a Rep from California, is a super freak. People from California should storm Botox faces office and demand she get off her fat ass and do something to help out her home state.

So, California should secede from the union. Hmmmm.

Well, I guess somebody in the world would welcome the 5th largest economy in the world. Maybe the U.K.!?

Just about every policy Donald Trump imposes to make his America great is opposed by the world's fifth-largest economy. That would be California, which is growing faster and outperforming the U.S. in job growth, manufacturing, personal income, corporate profits and the total return of its bonds. The most populous U.S. state, with 39.5 million people, supplanted the U.K. as No. 5 in the world with an equivalent gross domestic product of more than $2.7 trillion, increasing $127 billion last year, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

By the way, I believe Botox was invented in California. Just sayin'

C.I.A. Got Tip on al-Baghdadi’s Location From Arrest of a Wife and a Courier

Baghdadi’s more precise whereabouts and to put spies in place to monitor his periodic movements, allowing American commandos to stage an assault Saturday in which President Trump said Mr. al-Baghdadi died.

But Mr. Trump’s abrupt decision to withdraw American forces from northern Syria disrupted the meticulous planning and forced Pentagon officials to press ahead with a risky, night raid before their ability to control troops and spies and reconnaissance aircraft disappeared, according to military, intelligence and counterterrorism officials. Mr. al-Baghdadi’s death, they said, occurred largely in spite of Mr. Trump’s actions.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

I know I'm not the first to try to introduce you to the factual world, but let me take another shot at it, and see if I can bring some light and peace to your biased and anger-driven world.

The House rule book for all of their procedures was written a long time ago and agreed to by the House (and according to the rule for amending the Rule book). (I posted both the link and quoted the impeachment inquiry rules earlier.)

That Rule book calls for a passing House vote, where the entire House votes - and not restricted to a committee and not restricted to a single party - before even starting an inquiry / investigation.

It also calls for minority members to have active participation - being able to call witnesses, gather and enter evidence, cross examine witnesses etc.

But, according to the NYTimes: "House Democrats, who have resisted a floor vote on the impeachment inquiry for weeks"

So, this is pretty obviously a kangaroo court, where the democrats are ignoring the House rules in order to do whatever they want.

My personal ADDITIONAL objection is that it's in secret. Why is that? Do the democrats not want the people of the country to know what they've been doing all this time? It seems to me that any procedure that can't stand sunshine and fresh air is suspect.

The insane never-Trumpers will be driven even more insane in the wash/rinse/spin/repeat/ cycle they mistake for reality.

Ahhhhh kikipoo, you are the epitome of factual integrity. The Leni Riefenstahl of the modern era. You honor me with your factual acumen, but I take issue with your use of the word "biased", that connotes that I am being unfair in my disgust for the president and his administration. But that falls to interpretation and point of view, so I won't belabor the point. I could though, agree to 'anger.' And...?

See the post above about how the Republicans changed that rule. You're raising the point of Congressional process (pretty much the party line and presidential deflection as to facts. Wait, aren't you like, Queen of Factual Information? What gives?) But I looked up a report by The Congressional Research Service, dated October 10, 2019:

The Impeachment Process in the House of Representatives

Overview

Quote:

The impeachment process may be initiated as the result of various actions and events, including the receipt and referral of information from an outside source, investigations by congressional committees under their general authority, or the introduction of articles of impeachment in the form of a House resolution.

"investigations by congressional committees under their general authority"

I may not be as bright as you, but I think that means that Congress can conduct an investigation based upon their authority as prescribed in the Constitution. Something Trey Gowdy and friends had executed some 4 years ago.
Funny how that works. The "closed door" meetings were conducted under the most recent changes made by the Republicans (2015). Bipartisan depositions to find
facts (there goes that word again) to see if there was wrongdoing. Closed door to preserve the integrity of the depositions - much like cops and grand juries do.

Quote:

It also calls for minority members to have active participation - being able to call witnesses, gather and enter evidence, cross examine witnesses etc.

Membership has its privileges.

Quote:

But, according to the NYTimes: "House Democrats, who have resisted a floor vote on the impeachment inquiry for weeks"

Hmmm, the above quote has something missing, don't it? "House Democrats...?
Yes, they've resisted a floor vote on the subject, but what of it? The sentence, it's incomplete. There's something more to that statement.

Quote:

So, this is pretty obviously a kangaroo court, where the democrats are ignoring the House rules in order to do whatever they want.

So you say. Seems I've heard that somewhere. Ah yes, the Fox/Right Wing groan.
You have to give credit where credit is due, you guys stick to the programming. Lemmings.

Asked and answered. But, I'll humor you. Soon, within weeks, you will get your
public spectacle. The country will soon know what took place behind closed doors, and will find out what BOTH parties were investigating.

Yeah, "any procedure" that can't stand sunshine, etc. That question is a good one. What exactly is the Dick in Chief hiding? Why did he store the Ukraine conversation with Zelensky in a Top Secret server?

As a matter of course, I expect that you will do the usual (and what you've been trained to do) and move the goalposts.

Let oh festival begin!

No. Republicans want "do as I say" not "do as I do."

Don't conflate and confuse the topic.

They were IN the deposition and left to protest the process, which they wrote, and now, that it doesn't suit their needs, they walk out to protest and deflect from the main issue:

Trump fucked up and now they don't have any facts to defend him, so they resort to "tactics" and argue "process" rather than factual evidence. They have none. Fuck that he won, good for fucking him. But fucking abuse power!?
Fuck him, fry the bastard.

Well, time will tell. Public hearings are around the corner. He will get his day in court, that's the part of the process that the fucking Republicans have been clamoring for. So here we go!

Of course, that's if these fuckers don't move the goal posts again!

This is yet another example SGG, of the deflection tactics of SIGNUTTY and KOOKIE. They think they are being so clever, like a 5 year old with chocolate smeared all over their face saying they didn't steal a cookie. This particular tactic is the "link to an enormous block of text that no one has time to read even if they were paid to," and then run away like the chicken sh*ts they are. "Here, read the constitution! See? The Dems are wrong! What? You didn't read the whole thing? Stupid tw@t!"; One of the tells is name calling. This one, a link to 1494 pages of Constitution/text, "here ya go!" With such certainty, surely it means KOOKIE has read it, right? Let's find out if she's read her own link:

Hey KOOKS, where's the section and specific language where you see the Dems disobeying Impeachment rules? Be specific - shouldn't take you long since you linked this document...

It's a similar tactic to the big copy-n-post spam dumps SIG does with Zerohedge. Anyone reading it is not the point. In fact, they hope you don't read it! I'm sure you are aware of these diversions, SGG. Just like to make sure they know we know.

Another tactic seen recently: In faux outrage tone: "Where did I ever say..." a thing I never said that you didn't say I said?

Stalling, diversion, deflection, outright lying, make outrage... remind us of any party in particular right now?

SHINYGOODGUY

To be honest Captain, I never thought she would actually respond to my request. I was half-kidding. But yeah, I'm well aware of these tactics and the right-wing conservative party line.

Deflect, at any cost, for the Supreme Leader.

I know that the Constitution is a "read" but I've found that it was written to be somewhat vague in certain areas so as to adhere and adjust to the times. I understand that the only absolute is the people. The laws are written to allow for change, but not so easily changed. The lawmakers have to work to make the revolution work despite those that may wish to abuse it. But it takes good
strong people to protect and execute the laws to "form a more perfect union."

Quote:

How Does Impeachment Begin?

This has been perhaps the most confusing aspect of the current debate over impeaching Trump. In past presidential impeachments, the House has formally voted to authorize the Judiciary Committee to initiate impeachment proceedings. But this step has been skipped on occasion in the impeachment of judges, and it’s entirely the product of custom and internal House rules (themselves interpreted and controlled by the House majority at a given time).

The key sentence here is:

"House rules (themselves interpreted and controlled by the House majority at a given time)."

I got the hint during the Bhengazi trial debacle. Back then Trey Gowdy and company were large and in charge. It didn't take a genius to figure who was making "them rules", and who was applying the pressure, was making them up as they went along their business.

Then Trey Gowdy states that conducting the "depositions" behind closed doors was more effective - cutting down on "grandstanding" and providing more effective way of interrogating the suspects (I mean witnesses). Who knew he was right? I never thought I'd say this, but smart man. Fast forward to today
and we have Republicans screaming "bloody murder." Ah, politics!

So now the "process" is unfair to the little president (must be done in baby talk) who's home and all alone. Well, it turns out he'll get his turn when (and if) the Senate convenes and considers impeachment proceedings. They could vote to acquit. This is the normal procedure, but our mutual "friend" and the other party wants the Donald to be magically proclaimed innocent before the investigative part is done. That's like barging in on the Grand Jury and telling them "despite the fact you aren't done with your evidence gathering"
my client is innocent.

I've been on Grand Juries. That's not how it works. Anyway, long story, but yeah, I know what these rascals are up to. But thanks for the head's up and support.

I hope you know how to read - the answer to what the dims should be doing if they were following the impeachment rules is in there.

A billion flies eat shit.

Well... that's how we got Trump.

Do you think that if we all keep behaving like this that our future leaders are going to get better or worse?

Do Right, Be Right. :)

They all want "do as I say, not as I do".

They're the "elite". They do whatever the fuck they want to do, then they get on Lolita express and drink baby blood on pedophile island.

If you think that Democrats are any better than Republicans on that one, well... There's your problem right there.

There are ZERO good guys in politics.

No, I beg to differ.

There's always the "Deep State," and they're looking to push Putin aside to
get into that Trump ass and stretch his hole some more. But not to worry, Putin did a fine job in getting him use to "deep dicking."

Trumpy gonna git that Donkey dick!

Deep State, Good Guys to the rescue!!!

Rethugs have to screw up pretty big to make KENTUCKY roll over

Mr. Bevin was elected governor in 2015 after entering Kentucky politics by unsuccessfully challenging Senator Mitch McConnell in 2014, but he has seen his popularity plummet after clashing with state employees and teachers. He has made several incendiary comments and repeatedly sparred with the state’s news media.

The lawmakers have to work to make the revolution work despite those that may wish to abuse it. But it takes good strong people to protect and execute the laws to "form a more perfect union."

Well said, SGG!

So what? State legislature. Meaningless in the big picture. Also on an off year where nobody went out and voted because at least half of them weren't even aware that a vote was even taking place.

Once their property and sales taxes take an immediate spike, they're going to vote it right back the other way the next time they do the locals.

Do Right, Be Right. :)
