NUISANCE

I've just come from my polling place where I have voted... twice.

I stood in line, got my ballot, and went into the voting booth (cubicle really). Once there, the first thing I did was vote for the wrong president. I stood there gaping at my ballot which I had just ruined. I thought,"I can't let this go. This is a big one not just water commissioner." I was forced to admit the reality of the situation. I had participated in democracy and f*@#ed it up. A bit of embarrassment and a fresh ballot later, I managed to vote for the few people I wanted to win.

Go to the polls. It may be embarrassing, but heck that's what government's all about.

No embarrassment, Nuisance.
Rules say you're allowed two "f*@#" ups before you have to turn one in.

Screwing up my ballot wasn't the embarrassing part. Announcing "I screwed up my ballot" to a room full of people was the embarrassing part. The person I'd accidentally voted for made me feel pretty lousy, too.

I didn't even know Early was running. But who's this Often person? What ep was he (she?) in?

(Thinks Early would've made a fun addition to the Niska or Badger race.)

Its not even noon yet and I've intimidated a bunch of people.

Its great. I stand there, an elderly woman comes up with her Kerry pin and I say "YOU DONT BELONG HERE! LET ME SEE SOME ID!" Then its up against the wall for a quick pat down.

Most times thats enough. But if they are really determined I "find" some crack or a concealed knife, or accidently slosh them with some adult beverage from my coffee cup (can't vote drunk, its an old rule). A few of our hand picked local finest escort them to a "holding area and sometime after 8pm they'll be released.

By the book, the 'Republican National Committee Manual for Keeping People from Voting'. My copy came with my tax exemption voucher, my lifetime free supply of prescription drugs, my concealed carry permit, and a subscription to the Wall Street Journal. I'm so glad I became a Republican. All I ever got when I was a Democrat was free crack once every 4 years. Even Nader was handing out toasters.

ROFLMAO

We started beating up scrawny rednecks here..as soon as they pulled up in their pickup trucks with the gun racks in the back window.

The tougher looking ones we offered free beer to in exchange for a Nader vote. I'm surprised at how many kegs of Milwaukee's Best we've gone through so far.

Anyone wearing a "Vote or Die" T-shirt has received a cyanide tablet and a glass of grape Kool-Aid prior to admittance (we told them the tablet was a Flintstone chewable vitamin).

There are alot of signs up around here that say "God loves gullible people".

GEEZER

Keep the Shiny side up

Heard on NPR this morning that only about 10% of eligible voters aged 18-24 voted yesterday. What's this all about? I noticed a lack of the MTV Generation at the polls yesterday, but didn't know it was that bad. Did Kerry lose due to slacker apathy?

The fact that you'd even joke about this, given out country's great history of disenfranchisement illustrates why you are a pathetic excuse for a human being.

I'd wish cancer on you, but when you died you'd kill all those innocent cancer cells too.

The more I get to know people the more I like my dogs.

Just remember marriage is between a human and a human. I'm not judging you, I don't know you or your dog. I just don't want you to think that relationship has a future.

As for the rest. My efforts, such as they were, paid off. Ohio rocks.

As for joking about dienfranchisement, how can I not. This whole 'challenge' business and the claims of intimidation are a joke.

Maybe you Bush hater can get the courts to step in and upset the popular vote by taking steps to realign the electoral count. You guys love it when courts do that...

Hey Hey Hey! Calm Down people... no need to get snippish... look, the acts of one or a few people, in the long run won't change much.... But really, calling eachother names I thought was beyond you adults.... I am only 15 and I am ashamed of you! What is wrong with joking, nothing as far as I am concerned! But wishing eachother cancer.... comeon grow up... I don't know about you, but that is the only pathetic thing around here! Grow up! And next time your going to insult someone, either come up with something more mature, or, as the golden rule states, treat others the way you want to be treated.

This is what going mad must feel like...

oh my god...kerry's conceded...it's really happening...bush is going to be president of the freaking united states of america for four more years...

all i can say is, i don't know what is going through the heads of all the intolerant religious fanatics (yes, i said fanatics) in this country, and i have to ask:

WHAT THE F#@K IS WRONG WITH YOU???????????????

i don't like to offend people; i hate it actually. i rarely say anything offensive, especially in a situation like this where so many people could easily read this and take offense, but i just don't get it! i don't understand! how, in a "free" country, two people who love each other can be denied marriage? because you don't believe it's right? because God wouldn't approve? i'm sorry, i didn't realize God was in charge of this country. and to all the people whos children or reletives are in the army: i understand that you want to support your loved ones. since when does that mean sending them to an already-ended war where they can be hurt or die? they aren't fighting to protect their country. they're fighting because bush doesn't understand the concept of death. at least, i'm hoping he doesn't understand, because the alternative is that he just doesn't care.

i have to go study for a hindi test now. see, when my job gets outsourced, i can move to india and get it back:)

Thats a good question. When our people first rejected European monarchies, they were asked that question. When we set up a Democracy and chose liberty as our guiding principal, they were asked that question. When they left civilization to carve a nation out of the wilderness they were asked that question.

When a handful of Texian patriots defied a tyrants army, when boys from Iowa and Ohio stormed the beaches of Normandy, when we flew, when we built, when we invented, when we sought the blessing of all Gods and not just one, when we embraced the huddled masses of the world yearning to be free, when we accepted our role as the champion of liberty for a world broken by war and bathed in an iron shadow, when we vowed to defend the world against terror and tyranny, we were asked that question.

The answer is that we are Americans. This is what we do.

And the answer would be the same, even if Kerry had won.

Hey pinhead, getting the courts involved is exactly what the GOP did in Florida in 2000. It's what the GOP did in Ohio on TUESDAY MORNING.

If you even took ten seconds to check substantiated stories of an organized disinformation and disenfranchisement campaign in the "battleground states" you'd see there is something going on. However, you're too busy spouting your hate filled good ol' boy "the west and the south will save this country like it or not" BS.

I'll respond to your comments about my dog as soon as you figure out which one of your momma's boyfriends really is your daddy.

The more I get to know people the more I like my dogs.

hmmm... not every single person who voted Bush were religious fanatics. not every one of them cared about the gay marriage ban as passionately as you do (either way, meaning they wouldn't care if it went one way or other). and certainly, there are people who weren't religious who still think that gay marriages shouldn't take place.

But even with all of this. John Kerry himself didn't support gay marriages either. He favor civil unions.
