too bad indeed,JMB

i can't begin to tell you of the people who've told me they get their view of politics from guys like Rush Limbaugh.....

if folks would just take the time to get the correct information regarding the very important issues that we have to deal with in this world and make up their own minds, then maybe then at least there would be some honest dialogue in this country....

Can't ignore what I don't see. But I did see it now. Where did Bush lie ?
Quote:

No question, right? Yet, the very next day when his budget book was released, we learned that Bush told a lie of omission. What he didn't tell Congress and the American people is that he would later take from $.6 to $1 trillion out of that "lock box" to cover his tax cuts
This is such utter bullshit! There is no reason to 'pay for tax cuts', as they pay for themselves in increased economic activity. The Fed recieved MORE $$ after the tax cuts, btw. The proof of that is in the very good economy which the US is experiencing, in large part, to Bush's tax cuts. It worked for JFK, it worked for Reagan, and it's working for W.

As for WMD, check w/ Syria. Or check under the sand. Doesn't matter. Every intellience body in the world acknowledged that Saddam had a bio weapons program, everyone knew he had used them in the past, and he was NOT living up to his agreement w/ the UN, or the cease fire agreements from the 1st Gulf War. He was playing a shell game w/ the world, and we fianlly got tired of playing.
How the hell is it Clinton didn't lie....

"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."
President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998

" If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."
President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998.

..and yet somehow Bush IS lying ? Clinton also acted with force to destroy WMD cites which Saddam wasn't allowing UN inspectors access to.

This 'Bush lied' mantra from the Left is so absurdly emtpy and easily dismissed, I got tired of dealing w/ the zealots long ago. It's just not worth it. You believe in what you want, just as Young Earth Creationist believe the world is only 6,000 yrs old. There's no talking to you.

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

don't they look beautiful??

I wonder if Gina heard Bush's " I see a shiny America! " comment, and if so, did it register?

I know Gina is tall, but I thought Lawrence was taller than he is. I'm guessing she's wearing heels, but how tall ? Great pic!

RIGHTEOUS9

Where did he lie?

You tell me.

He said that anybody that was found to be INVOLVED in the Valerie Plame leak would be fired.

We know that Rove was at least involved...we know Libby retired, and Bush suggested that he did not force Libby out, meaning that he basically said no wrongdoing occured.

Now, the new Republican talking point is that no crime was commited because Bush is allowed to declassify informaation himself, but the Whitehouse, smartly has not admitted to doing this at this time as far as I know.

So you tell me what the going story on this is right now. Either Bush lied and didn't fire anybody for being involved in this affair, or he told a doozy and is in fact responsible for the leak himself, in which case, he would have to remove himself from office, by his own promise.

Honestly though, I can't keep up with the spin on this. The White House tests the waters, somebody comes out with some outlandish claim which the Whitehouse stays aloof from, it is tested in terms of its success on the blogs and the talking-head shows, and if it doesn't end up stinking too much, they end up adopting it.

What are they going to adopt on this one? What's the story on this, as you see it?

If you put your fingers in your ears, close your eyes and shout 'la, la, la, I can't hear you' then it's almost like they're not even there! What's more everyone else gets sick of the childish refusal to address reality and ignores you. This has proven a very successful strategy for the Bush administration.
