(His loss is my gain, but I'm pretty sure that the fact mice got in the box and made it their home factored in bigly when it came to his decision not to use it and to give it to me ) Unlike my old one, it didn't have a plug and was designed for you to connect flex conduit to the top or side and connect the wires inside a protective box, similar to a ceiling ventalation fan. No biggie... I cut an old PC case plug in half, stripped the wires down and used a flex conduit connector to clamp the plug in there so I could put it through the hole in the bottom of the cabinet that has the plug outlet meant for that and for my microwave. This thing looks great. I was a little worried about it being white on top of my white cabinets and tiles behind it, but except for the microwave all the appliances in my kitchen are white and it goes with everything. I also finally got around to hanging up that really nice wall clock that used to be hung in my grandma's kitchen too. The kitchen is still not finished, but we're slowly getting there. -------------------------------------------------- How you do anything is how you do everything.

My friend said it was. It certainly appears to be and feels like it, but the salve did not behave at all like I expected it to. I'm going to need to do more than wipe it down with a sock like I did on the 1-seater yesterday, otherwise there's going to be a film on top of it. I've got some old ratty bath and dish towels, so it's getting a proper buff out today. It looks great as is with that shine on it, but that's not going to be any good if people get wax on them when they sit on it. Hopefully it doesn't look dull when I get it buffed out and I didn't waste 10 bucks. -------------------------------------------------- How you do anything is how you do everything.

Quote:i was really busting ass today, and manged to get my household chores done in time to get out there and weed the tree mound. i tried to level it out but could only go so far because... tree roots. i hope that tomorrow i can finish it by laying down cardboard, wetting it, and throwing wood chip mulch on top. after that, i shouldn't have to worry about weeds there as long as i keep up with the mulch every few years. after that, heading to the back yard to tame it. once i see what needs to be done i'll call in the gardener crew again and have them dig up weeds from under the avocadoes. when that's done gonna give it the same cardboard/mulch treatment.

A day after the first wipedown and it looks really good and smells great. I think one more wipedown with a fresh towel will do the trick and it will look 100 times greater than before I cleaned and treated it. Yeah, it seems a little late in the year for such cold weather! Over here, my fav news aggregator is talking HEAT WAVE 2023! But when I check the forecast my fair city - while too hot for me to be working outdoors much- isn't even going to break into the 90s (32C). Not unseasonable IMHO. ----------- "It may be dangerous to be America's enemy, but to be America's friend is fatal." - Henry Kissinger Loving America is like loving an addicted spouse - SIGNYM

Good for you for doing all that work. I'm in a funk again myself, but I think that's because of the stuff being all out of place and finding out that floor is going to need 14 to 30 days to cure before I should put the rug and furniture back on it. I hate living like this. Once you get mulch and other things down, you shouldn't have so much work keeping up with weeds. Putting all that rock down last year cut my non-lawn mowing work by about 50% this year. Once I finally get around to finishing the landscaping in the sandpit and around the back of the house and garage, everything should almost take care of itself. -------------------------------------------------- How you do anything is how you do everything.

Not going to get everything out to the trash where it belongs today probably though since it's been pouring rain all day and I don't feel like dragging that all over my porch floor that is still curing, but at least it should be all together and ready to go. Gotta eventually get myself cleaned up and ready to go run some errands. Got a ton of them to make today... In the rain. :( -------------------------------------------------- How you do anything is how you do everything.

Quote:Mostly indoor work here, too. The heat wave did arrive, and it'll be over 90F for about a week. But I did go out early this AM to toss about a yard of mulch around the oak tree, and made a significant dent in the mulch pile that me neighbors have been staring at for quite a while. Also went and picked some avocadoes for the (many) salads that are in our immediate future. And now, back to work...

Just a drizzle in some spots. SIGNY: I looked at sis' forecast and I see higher temps and lots of thundershowers that do nothing to cool things off! I suspect that's you, too. SIX: Yeah. Thunderstorms on and off for about 3 days now. A couple of tornadoes touched down by Chicago and it looked a little sketchy here for a while but we were alright. No real break from the heat though. It's kind of cool out there now in the middle of the night, but the humidity is really high. It's going to be 90 again in 2 days. Finally feel a little bit of accomplishment today after about a week of not doing much. I still have way too much furniture in my living room, but at least the 1st floor doesn't look like a bomb hit it anymore.
