Not paying, until he loses a lawsuit, is a lifelong theme with Trump.

Signym, $9.2 trillion does not sound too bad to you, does it? But the analysis includes other possibilities that show far higher deficits under Trump. If his tariffs raised less money and there were higher costs for his mass deportations and tax breaks, the national debt could jump by $15.2 trillion.

Signym, I say $15.2 trillion for electing Trump is too high a price to pay for him saving Putin from the consequences of invading Ukraine.

A) WTH does a Trump deficit have to do with "cheering on" Russia? I guess you can't find that quote where I AM "cheering on Russiac to harp on, can you?

If you know who Liz Cheney and Charlie Sykes are, and you care, you're already voting Democrat. I don't think they reach any new voters.

Now, there's a broader issue here, which is that I think the Harris campaign just has a bad theory of the case. We saw this in the debate and we talked about it a little then, but they are running "Trump is a bad man," as their campaign. I think anyone who thinks Trump is a bad man -- and cares -- is already voting Democrat.

What Harris' campaign has lacked is a chance to define itself and give a sense of what Harris is for. That's what really needs to be done in these closing days. I think "Orange Man Bad" is something that has just completely run its course for the Democratic message machine.

Florida000000000Trump0 +8.4000Biden +1.5000Clinton0 +4.0

Here's where Trump stands in the battleground states compared to 2020...

National:000000 Trump +7.4
--------------------------
Wisconsin:00000 Trump +5.5
Pennsylvania:00 Trump +5.9
Ohio:0000000000 Trump +6.4
Michigan:000000 Trump +8.9
Arizona:0000000 Trump +4.2
Nevada:00000000 Trump +6.1
North Carolina: Trump +1.9
Georgia:0000000 Trump +3.3
Florida:0000000 Trump +9.9

And here's where Trump stands in the battleground states compared to 2016...

National:000000 Trump +6.5
--------------------------
Wisconsin:00000 Trump +6.3
Pennsylvania:00 Trump +6.4
Ohio:0000000000 Trump +6.6
Michigan:000000 Trump +11.6
Arizona:0000000 Trump +3.3
Nevada:00000000 Trump +6.1
North Carolina: Trump +3.3
Georgia:0000000 Trump -1.5
Florida:0000000 Trump +12.4

Trump now leads in the polling aggregate for EVERY swing state.

Ohio isn't really even a swing state anymore, but on this day 4 years ago it was the only state on the list that Trump was winning. In 2016 it was one of only two states Trump was winning.

Democrats have routinely fallen apart in the month leading up to the election the last two election cycles and it appears that this cycle isn't any different in that regard. If the fall is on pace with what it was for Biden* and Clinton, there's a really good chance that we enter election day with Trump up enough points in the Popular Vote that he wins outside of the margin of error.

For more comparisons, I got the actual vote percentages in the battleground states to compare.

https://ballotpedia.org/Presidential_battleground_states,_2020

2020 Presidential Election vote margins by battleground state:

National:000000 Biden +4.4
--------------------------
Wisconsin:00000 Biden +0.3 (49.4% Biden / 49.1% Trump)
Pennsylvania:00 Biden +1.2 (50.0% Biden / 48.8% Trump)
Ohio:0000000000 Trump +8.1 (53.3% Trump / 45.2% Biden)
Michigan:000000 Biden +1.8 (50.6% Biden / 47.8% Trump)
Arizona:0000000 Biden +0.3 (49.4% Biden / 49.1% Trump)
Nevada:00000000 Biden +2.4 (50.1% Biden / 47.7% Trump)
North Carolina: Trump +1.3 (49.9% Trump / 48.6% Biden)
Georgia:0000000 Biden +0.2 (49.5% Biden / 49.3% Trump)
Florida:0000000 Trump +3.3 (51.2% Biden / 47.9% Trump)

What do those numbers mean in relation to the numbers posted earlier?

Let's compare the polling averages 4 years ago today with the actual election results...

National:000000 Biden POLLS: +8.0 - ACTUAL: +4.4 = -3.6
--------------------------
Wisconsin:00000 Biden POLLS: +5.4 - ACTUAL: +0.3 = -5.1
Pennsylvania:00 Biden POLLS: +5.1 - ACTUAL: +1.2 = -3.9
Ohio:0000000000 Biden POLLS: -0.6 - ACTUAL: -8.1 = -7.5
Michigan:000000 Biden POLLS: +8.1 - ACTUAL: +1.8 = -6.3
Arizona:0000000 Biden POLLS: +2.4 - ACTUAL: +0.3 = -2.1
Nevada:00000000 Biden POLLS: +5.2 - ACTUAL: +2.4 = -2.8
North Carolina: Biden POLLS: +1.5 - ACTUAL -1.3 = -2.8
Georgia:0000000 Biden POLLS: +0.8 - ACTUAL: +0.2 = -0.6
Florida:0000000 Biden POLLS: +1.5 - ACTUAL: -3.3 = -4.8

For the above table I flipped any state that Trump won to negatives for Biden instead so the numbers make more sense. In the national polling on today's date 4 years ago, they had Joe Biden +1.9 higher than the actual vote count. As you can see, every battleground state was polled hard in favor of Democrats compared to actual voter turnout, many of them far outside their stated margin of errors. This was just as bad if not worse in 2016. Maybe I'll get around to doing comparisons to both years as election day draws near for comparison too.

Now let's take the Democrat bias in the polls from 2020 and apply them to our current day polling...

National:000000 Harris POLLS: +0.6 - 2020 BIAS: -3.6 = Trump + 3.0
--------------------------
Wisconsin:00000 Trump POLLS: +0.1 - 2020 BIAS: -5.1 = Trump +5.2
Pennsylvania:00 Trump POLLS: +0.8 - 2020 BIAS: -3.9 = Trump +4.7
Ohio:0000000000 Trump POLLS: +7.0 - 2020 BIAS: -7.5 = Trump +14.5
Michigan:000000 Trump POLLS: +0.6 - 2020 BIAS: -6.3 = Trump +6.9
Arizona:0000000 Trump POLLS: +1.8 - 2020 BIAS: -2.1 = Trump +3.9
Nevada:00000000 Trump POLLS: +0.9 - 2020 BIAS: -2.8 = Trump +3.7
North Carolina: Trump POLLS: +0.4 - 2020 BIAS: -2.8 = Trump +3.2
Georgia:0000000 Trump POLLS: +2.5 - 2020 BIAS: -0.6 = Trump +3.1
Florida:0000000 Trump POLLS: +8.4 - 2020 BIAS: -4.8 = Trump +13.2

Am I saying Trump is going to win all the battleground states by those huge margins? Maybe. I'm not ready to make that prediction right now. But I have just illustrated that historical polling trends suggest this outcome to be a possibility.

The Atlantic' Immediately Debunked After Attempting Yet Another Trump Military Hit Piece
Wednesday, Oct 23, 2024 - 01:20 PM

Authored by Luis Cornelio via Headline USA,

The sister of slain soldier Vanessa Guillén slammed The Atlantic after it used anonymous sources to allege that President Donald Trump disparaged her after discovering the funeral expenses.

Guillén’s death at the hands of a fellow soldier and his girlfriend became national news in 2020, with Trump comforting the grief-stricken family and extending death benefits. He also offered to cover the costs personally if the Army did not pay for the funeral expenses.

The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg, however, attempted to rewrite history on Tuesday, claiming that Trump was outraged when he learned that Guillén’s funeral, which included heightened security and closed streets, cost $60,000.

According to the magazine—relying on an anonymous source—Trump allegedly said, “It doesn’t cost 60,000 bucks to bury a fucking Mexican!” and ordered then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to deny payment.

Guillén’s sister, Mayra, issued a viral statement on X, condemning The Atlantic’s distorted portrayal of her experience with Trump.

“I don’t appreciate how you are exploiting my sister’s death for politics- hurtful & disrespectful to the important changes she made for service members,” Mayra wrote on X, garnering over 3 million views.

“President Donald Trump did nothing but show respect to my family & Vanessa. In fact, I voted for President Trump today,” Mayra added.

Fox host defends Trump's praise of Hitler's generals. Maybe they weren't Nazis?

Something tells me Fox News would react a bit differently if we learned Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris once said she needed 'the kind of Marxist guerrillas Che Guevara had.'

On Fox News, host Brian Kilmeade spun the news – which came from John Kelly, a retired four-star Marine general and Trump’s former chief of staff – spun the horrific comment in spectacularly dopey fashion.

All of Adolf Hitler’s generals were Nazis, you schmuck. This is not a thing you can shrug your shoulders at and say, “Well, you know, Trump was just mad and trying to make a point.”

It's notable that Kilmeade didn’t dispute whether Trump made these comments. That makes sense, given the source. Kelly is an honorable patriot with absolutely nothing to gain from sharing this story. If anything, he’s putting himself in a position to be the first to get locked up if the former president wins. Trump, on the other hand, is a lying convicted felon who nobody in their right mind should trust.

If your response to Gen. John Kelly, gold star father & Trump’s WH chief of staff, confirming that Trump praised Hitler & called members of our military ‘suckers and losers’ is to defend Trump, you need to look in the mirror and realize your dishonor will live forever.

Gallup just put out a poll with Harris -2 on Trump for favorability, making her the least liked Presidential candidate since Gallup was measuring for it.

https://news.gallup.com/poll/652427/trump-harris-favorability-low-end-
year-trend.aspx

You've got nothing to celebrate here. Likability was the only thing that Harris supposedly had going for her and everyone hates her. This should be a surprise to no one since she only garnered 1% of the vote in polling before she dropped out of the 2020 primary in December of 2019 due to running out of funds.

There is less than 2 weeks left and you've run out of time. There is nothing you can do to get Harris over the finish line.

Watch as the polls which already spell the doom of her political career continue to get worse for her as we draw closer to election day.

Bill Ackman Reveals The Moment He Became Redpille
Wednesday, Oct 23, 2024 - 11:40 AM

On the Triggernometry podcast, billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman reflected on a pivotal moment that reshaped his perception of media trustworthiness, explaining how he and many others were misled by the media concocting the “Very Fine People” hoax against then-President Donald Trump.

KONSTANTIN KISIN: You thought very carefully about who to support in this election, and you have spoken a number of times about some of the things that you believed about Donald Trump, for example, that you were misled about by the mainstream media. That's the kind of environment you're really talking about. Where somebody runs and they immediately become the sort of demon monkey, and they're completely misrepresented. It doesn't mean they don't have flaws, but they're misrepresented about the things that they say. Is there a way to change that, first and foremost?

BILL ACKMAN: You need neutral spaces in media, by the way—neutral spaces where you can counteract the—I hate to use the word misinformation because that itself has problems. Look, I don’t want to sit here and just be an advertisement for X, but what's interesting is that when someone writes a profile of me in some media form, I can, within an hour of that article coming out, very specifically fact-check or address the issue, as could obviously any candidate for office. Prior to X being this sort of neutral platform, you had to send the Times a beg them for a correction, and in a few weeks, on quote-unquote page 4 or 3, in a place no one would read, the correction would appear. I think the more the public has lost confidence in conventional media, the more they're going to look to empirical voices in podcasting and citizen journalism on X. I do think that's a powerful counterpoint.

One of the most powerful moments for many people, actually one of them for me, isI truly believed that Trump had said the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists were among the very fine people protesting. It takes about two minutes to actually watch what he said to realize he said precisely the opposite—that he condemned them. He said, "I'm not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists" when he was talking about very fine people. That's the moment when you realize, "Oh my God, I really have been misled by the media." You look at the 60 Minutes excerpting that was done with Kamala, and you realize how much you can be manipulated, particularly by taped and excerpted media. So, if I'm trying to get to the truth, I want to hear the voice of the candidate—untaped, unscripted, without the teleprompter.

Why do you believe liars?
Why are you cheerleading scum?

If she had integrity, Tulsi would NOT have dropped her lawsuit.
(Trump is infamous for filing lawsuits that go nowhere)

And if patriotic she would have NOT switched from defeating Donald Trump to supporting Trump.
(Now I see why Tulsi filed the frivolous lawsuit)

1) Jan. 22, 2020 - Tulsi Gabbard sues Hillary Clinton for $50M, claims defamation over 'Russian asset' remark

Clinton said during a podcast interview last fall that one of the Democratic candidates is "the favorite of the Russians," leading Gabbard to lash out.

2) May 27, 2020 - Tulsi Gabbard drops defamation lawsuit against Hillary Clinton

“Plaintiffs Tulsi Gabbard and Tulsi Now, Inc. dismiss this action. While they remain certain of the action’s legal merit, they are just as certain that this new COVID and post-COVID world require them to focus their time and attention on other priorities, including defeating Donald Trump in 2020, rather than righting the wrongs here.”

Why she left

Quote:

The former congresswoman said the [Democrat] party is "now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness."

Why she changed

Quote:

she praised the GOP presidential nominee [Trump] for bringing the Republican Party "back to the party of the people and the party of peace."

"To those of you here or those watching at home who are independent-minded people like myself, who love our country and are committed to the Constitution and to freedom, the Democratic Party has no home for people like us," Gabbard said. "But we do have a home in the Republican Party where we are welcomed with open arms by President Trump."

Her big issue seems to be our pointless, endless foreign wars.

Watching all the neocons and warmongers (of both parties) rally behind Kamala and attack Trump may be what tipped the balace.

Well... That was ultimately the goal of all 19 of the Democrat challengers in the Democrat primary.

Oh... Not Kamala though. She ran out of money and dropped out of the primary six months earlier in December of 2019. She was already deeply in the process of leveraging her DEI to get the VP pick if Democrats won.

Florida000000000Trump0 +8.4000Biden +1.5000Clinton0 +4.0

Here's where Trump stands in the battleground states compared to 2020...

National:000000 Trump +7.9
--------------------------
Wisconsin:00000 Trump +5.2
Pennsylvania:00 Trump +4.7
Ohio:0000000000 Trump +6.6
Michigan:000000 Trump +8.8
Arizona:0000000 Trump +3.9
Nevada:00000000 Trump +5.9
North Carolina: Trump +2.3
Georgia:0000000 Trump +3.0
Florida:0000000 Trump +9.9

And here's where Trump stands in the battleground states compared to 2016...

National:000000 Trump +5.7
--------------------------
Wisconsin:00000 Trump +6.0
Pennsylvania:00 Trump +5.0
Ohio:0000000000 Trump +6.6
Michigan:000000 Trump +9.8
Arizona:0000000 Trump +3.0
Nevada:00000000 Trump +5.7
North Carolina: Trump +3.2
Georgia:0000000 Trump -1.2
Florida:0000000 Trump +12.4

Trump now leads in the polling aggregate for EVERY swing state.

Ohio isn't really even a swing state anymore, but on this day both 4 years ago and 8 years ago it was the only state on the list that Trump was winning. He's up +7.0 in 2024 in Ohio, while he was only up +0.6 in 2020 and +0.4 in 2016 on this date.

National:000000 Biden POLLS: +8.1 - ACTUAL: +4.4 = -3.7
--------------------------
Wisconsin:00000 Biden POLLS: +5.4 - ACTUAL: +0.3 = -5.1
Pennsylvania:00 Biden POLLS: +5.3 - ACTUAL: +1.2 = -4.1
Ohio:0000000000 Biden POLLS: -0.6 - ACTUAL: -8.1 = -7.5
Michigan:000000 Biden POLLS: +9.0 - ACTUAL: +1.8 = -7.2

National:000000 Harris POLLS: +0.2 - 2020 BIAS: -3.7 = Trump + 3.9
--------------------------
Wisconsin:00000 Trump POLLS: +0.2 - 2020 BIAS: -5.1 = Trump +5.3
Pennsylvania:00 Trump POLLS: +0.6 - 2020 BIAS: -4.1 = Trump +4.7
Ohio:0000000000 Trump POLLS: +7.0 - 2020 BIAS: -7.5 = Trump +14.5
Michigan:000000 Trump POLLS: +0.2 - 2020 BIAS: -7.2 = Trump +7.4
Arizona:0000000 Trump POLLS: +1.5 - 2020 BIAS: -2.1 = Trump +3.6
Nevada:00000000 Trump POLLS: +0.7 - 2020 BIAS: -2.8 = Trump +3.5
North Carolina: Trump POLLS: +0.8 - 2020 BIAS: -2.8 = Trump +3.6
Georgia:0000000 Trump POLLS: +2.2 - 2020 BIAS: -0.6 = Trump +2.8
Florida:0000000 Trump POLLS: +8.4 - 2020 BIAS: -4.8 = Trump +13.2

Am I saying Trump is going to win all the battleground states by those huge margins? Maybe. I'm not ready to make that prediction right now. But I have just illustrated that historical polling trends suggest this outcome to be a possibility.

Also, to note... Joe Biden* never once fell below +4 points above Trump in the 2020 election. Harris, now sitting at a lead of only +0.2 is dangerously close to the first Democrat in at least 3 election cycles that could see the aggregate showing them losing going into the election.

In 2016 Gabbard was seeking a position in the Trump Cabinet. Jump forward eight years and she again seeks a position in the Trump Cabinet:

"After Trump went on to win the 2016 general election, Gabbard said she had a “frank and positive” meeting with the President-elect and was rumored to be considered for a Cabinet position."

(She did NOT get the position because she was still serving as a Democrat in Congress. She refused to impeach Trump and became the “most disliked” Democrat.)

Gabbard ran as a Democrat because only a Democrat could be elected in Hawaii but she was no Democrat at all. She was just a gifted liar saying whatever was necessary to trick the voters in Hawaii back in 2002.

Over 80% Of Americans Are In Favor Of Requiring Photo ID, Proof Of Citizenship To Vote
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- With less than two weeks to go in the presidential campaign and voting already underway in many states, 76% of U.S. adults favor the concept of early voting. Two other election law policies are supported by even more Americans -- requiring photo identification to vote (84%) and providing proof of citizenship when registering to vote for the first time (83%).

Smaller majorities of Americans -- 60% each -- favor automatic voter registration, whereby citizens are registered when they do business with state agencies such as the Department of Motor Vehicles, and sending absentee ballot applications to all eligible voters. In contrast, majorities of Americans oppose removing people from voter registration lists if they haven’t voted in any elections in five years (64%) and limiting the number of drop boxes or locations for returning absentee ballots (58%).

She's not a Republican either. They're all neocons and are voting for your girl.

If you haven't noticed, there has been a seismic shift in both parties that has been going on for over 2 decades now.

You're witnessing the end of both parties as you knew them.

The Democrats are now the party of war and the Billionaires.

So far, the most important thing that Trump has ever done in his entire life is getting the NeoCons to out themselves en masse by supporting Harris.

CNN's Enten: Normal Polling Error In Swing States Makes Electoral College Blowout In Either Direction

"History shows it's more likely than not that the swing-state polling errors will all move in one direction. In 2012, 92% of the states moved toward Obama, with the polls underestimating him. In 2016, 83% of the swing states moved together because the polls underestimated Trump. And in 2020, 100% of the swing state poll averages underestimated Donald Trump," he explained. "Don't be surprised if this time around, when the swing-state polls underestimate one candidate, they underestimate them in all the states, leading to a relatively big Electoral College win of at least 300 electoral votes for one of the candidates."

We all know which way it will break, Harry. I realize that at a partisan network it's your job not to
admit that you know, and there's a very large part of you that just doesn't want to admit it.

As I said before, this isn't going to be a close victory. Unless some earth-shattering event comes
in and saves the Democrat party in the 11th hour, this is not only going to be an electoral
landslide of an election for Trump, but he's likely going to win the Popular Vote by several
million votes as well.

Trump foreign policy folks are living inside a fantasy bubble

Robert C. O’Brien, who served as Donald Trump’s national security adviser in 2019 and 2020, explains why things were so great under Trump:
Quote:

When Iran got out of line, we eliminated an Iranian general of some note. We heard, “ISIS is an idea. It can’t be defeated,” but we sure as hell defeated them.

So we weren’t averse to using force, but we wanted to stop using force for nation building and for things that weren’t in American interest. We drew a red line in Ukraine, and Putin didn’t dare cross it. We gave the Ukrainians Javelin missiles, which are the only reason today that Ukraine is free.

We were tough on the Chinese. We let them know that it would be entirely unacceptable to invade Taiwan.

This is some serious revisionist history. The war against ISIS was more than halfway done by the time Trump took office and nobody said victory was impossible. Trump beat ISIS merely by allowing the military to continue Obama's plan.

There was no red line in Ukraine. That's just fantasy. And yes, Trump gave Ukraine Javelin missiles, but only under heavy pressure. He didn't want to do it.

As for Taiwan, sure, a Chinese invasion was unacceptable under Trump—just as it was under every other US president going back to Jimmy Carter. Trump was happy to use Taiwan as leverage in his trade war with China, but more concretely his sales of arms to Taiwan were considerably lower than usual.

Later on, Colby concedes that the Afghanistan withdrawal was entirely planned by Trump, but insists Trump would have executed it far better:
Quote:

He said the military will stay and be strong. We’re going to bring all the American equipment home. We’ll bring home those who helped us on the ground. And we’re not leaving unless the Taliban comes to a good-faith agreement with the Afghan government on a government of national unity that will keep up the fight against ISIS-K.
This is delusional. When Biden pushed out the withdrawal, Trump explicitly condemned it and said we should just get the hell out. It would have been an unqualified disaster.

These people, even the sober, sane sounding ones, are completely trapped in a bubble of Trump worship. I'm sure O'Brien believes every word he says here, but that hardly makes it any better than Trump's lies. Maybe worse.

All the stories that come out of North Korea used to be so unbelievable to me. Kim Jong Un personally directs each factory on what to produce, how much of it and how much to price it, and as a result, North Korea is far more prosperous than South Korea and is poised to conquer the world any day now. Kim does all this and he doesn’t even poop or have a butthole! All of it just sounded completely crazy and I figured average Koreans knew it was all bullshit and simply were acting loyal because to do otherwise was death.

Then Trump came down the golden escalator. And his cult has proved impervious to all facts, logic, morality or even self-interest.

I no longer wonder how it is that North Korea is so delusional. We’re about halfway there ourselves. I hate Trumpers so much for destroying things like rational thought, human decency and shared reality… as well as unleashing a good 70-80m Americans to be their worst selves.

Lordy, I hope we never again have to deal with all those stupid, stupid Trump cabinet meetings that would start off with officials bowing and scraping about what an honor it is to be in Trump's presence.

Similar to your revelation about NK, the Trump presidency convinced me that the fascist leaders of the 20th century were not (or certainly didn't need to be) evil geniuses. Evil dumb people (like Trump) may be even more likely to stupid their way into wrecking a country from within than awful people who are competent.

What will happen if Donald Trump loses the election?

By John Hendrickson | October 24, 2024, 11:05 AM E

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2024/10/trump-duluth-geor
gia-rally/680354
/

Tucker Carlson’s eyes narrowed as he conjured the image. A Donald Trump victory, he said at a campaign event in Gwinnett County, Georgia, last night, “will be a middle finger wagging in the face of the worst people in the English-speaking world.”

Trump maintains that he’s running for president a third time to restore and unite the country. But many Democrats and even some Republicans have expressed profound concern for democracy and overall safety if the former president wins this election. Last night at the Gwinnett County event, sponsored by Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point Action, I asked Trump’s supporters to consider the inverse: What do you think will happen if Trump loses?

The more Trump rallies I attended, the more this question had been gnawing at me. He has framed this presidential contest as a “final battle,” and he may well win. But if he doesn’t, I wanted to know if he and his supporters would really go quietly. I heard a range of answers last night, from promises to accept the outcome to predictions of a new Civil War.

I approached the former Trump-administration official Peter Navarro, who was signing copies of his book The New MAGA Deal: The Unofficial Deplorables Guide to Donald Trump’s 2024 Policy Platform. Earlier this year, Navarro spent four months in prison. Like another Trump ally, Steve Bannon, Navarro had been found in contempt of Congress after failing to comply with subpoenas from the House Select Committee on January 6. If Trump loses the election, Navarro told me that “the country will disintegrate,” and he warned of “very hard times.” I asked him if he thought something akin to another January 6 might occur. “By asking that question you’re trying to stir up shit, man,” he said. He told me that my query would be better suited for President Joe Biden and the Democrats. “Those assholes put me in prison,” he said. “Do you hear me?”

Another former Trump-administration official, Ben Carson, took a more conciliatory approach to my question. “I think we’ll have to regroup and try to figure out how we can save our country,” Carson said. He told me he doubted that another event like the storming of the Capitol would take place. “I think regardless of who wins or loses, we’ve got to tone down the dissension and the hatred that’s going on in our country, or it’s going to be destroyed,” Carson said.

Rank-and-file Trump supporters had varying opinions on the matter. I chatted with one attendee, Joshua Barnes, while he waited in line to buy strawberry smoothies for himself and his wife at a food truck outside the arena. The couple had driven four hours that morning from their home in Alabama to hear Trump speak live for the first time. “If she does become president, as much as I would hate it, you kind of do have to accept it,” Barnes said, referring to Vice President Kamala Harris. He told me he did not want another insurrection to occur, but he acknowledged the possibility of something worse: a period of postelection unrest, or even civil war. (He pointed me to a Rasmussen survey from the spring that had shown a distressingly high percentage of respondents saying the same thing.)

A man from Gwinnett County named Rich who works in construction told me that this was his fourth Trump rally. “I’m a pretty good judge of character, and when people are trying to shovel me a load of garbage, it’s like, No, it stinks, okay?” he said of Harris and the Democrats. He predicted protests no matter who loses, but did not anticipate another January 6, which he referred to as a “situation” and not an insurrection. As for something closer to a civil war? “I think anything’s possible; I don’t think it’s out of the question, and I really can’t elaborate on that,” he said, adding only that he was hoping it wouldn’t happen.

In the parking lot, I met a man named Mark Williams, who told me he ran the biggest political printing business in Georgia. I took a seat in a folding chair behind his table of yard signs and other wares, and he offered me a red-white-and-blue can of Conservative Dad’s Ultra Right 100% Woke-Free American Beer. (“Eat steak, lift weights, be uncensorable, drink a little beer,” read the slogan.) Though Williams supports Trump, he was levelheaded about both the current election and the previous one. He did not believe Trump’s claim that he’d really won in 2020. “I think we’re more accepting than the media gives us credit for,” Williams said of he and his fellow Republicans. “The actions of a few get painted with that big brush,” he said, pointing to January 6. “So, yeah, there’s going to be some crazy people that do some crazy shit; that just happens. But the actions of most of us, I mean, we’ll bitch about it and scream at each other and all that kind of stuff, but we’re not going to break into the Capitol and stuff. I’m as big a Trump supporter as anybody, but I didn’t feel compelled to go breaking into the Capitol. And those people that did that did wrong. And I don’t know that all of them did wrong, but the ones that did, they needed to be punished.”

Williams told me he had never considered a new civil war seriously until he attended Kid Rock’s Rock the Country festival in Rome, Georgia, earlier this year. He described some of the chatter he heard at the festival, such as When we have to go out on the field and fight these people, y’all going to be there with us? “It did surprise me a little bit, the tone that some of these guys were taking; I think there’s people that are absolutely ready to take on a civil war,” he said. “I think that if there was an overwhelming view of a crooked election or something like that—yeah, I could see it happening.”

Many of the Trump supporters I interviewed sounded worried about future political violence. Some identified as pacifists. Others believed that unrest was almost a given. A 23-year-old named Ben told me he had skipped his classes at the University of Georgia to attend yesterday’s rally. I asked him if he thought January 6 could happen again in the event of a Trump defeat. “Yes,” he said. “I think it’ll be real this time.” He told me that he wasn’t sure what he, personally, would do if Trump lost. “I wouldn’t want to act on instinct, but I would be angry,” he said. He volunteered that he believed that Church and state needed to be remarried. “If Trump was dictator, I would support him,” he said. He insisted that he wasn’t trolling me.

When Trump addressed the crowd, he made no secret of his authoritarian aspirations. He raised the possibility of suing 60 Minutes over its editing of an interview with Harris, and made the baffling claim that gang members were taking over Times Square with weapons that the U.S. military doesn’t have. (“But we have guys that want to confront them, and they’re gonna be allowed to confront them, and we’re gonna get ’em the hell out of here.”) Once again, he promised to carry out the largest deportation operation in history. He also said he would invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, which would grant him authority to detain, relocate, or deport foreigners deemed an enemy, and called for the death penalty for any migrant who kills an American citizen.

That last point is a particularly charged issue in Georgia. A 63-year-old attendee I met named Linda told me her daughters had been in the same sorority as Laken Riley, the 22-year-old student who was murdered earlier this year while jogging. Riley’s alleged assailant is a man from Venezuela who entered the U.S. illegally, and her death has become a conservative rallying cry, especially for Trump, as it was again last night. (“I feel like we’ll be more like Venezuela if the Democrats get in there,” Linda told me.)

After losing Georgia in 2020, Trump tried to overturn the state’s election results. In the four years since, he’s only grown more unstable, and he’s predicated his 2024 campaign on retribution. This time around, Trump has been encouraging his supporters to vote early, and he’s pushing a new catchphrase: “Too big to rig.” He’s not thinking about what happens if he loses; he wants a landslide victory.

Is Trump a Fascist? Allan Lichtman discusses.

Historian Allan Lichtman has insisted that he stands by his prediction about who will win the 2024 presidential race despite recent polls – and revealed that he has “never experienced” so much “hate” in an election cycle.

Lichtman is known as the “Nostradamus” of polling due to the fact he has correctly predicted the results of nine out of 10 presidential elections since 1984.

His method for forecasting the race so accurately is known as “The Keys to the White House,” a system he devised with the Russian academic Vladimir Keilis-Borok in 1981.

And despite the polls, which show the race is now tighter than ever between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, Lichtman stands by his prediction that the Democrat will win the White House in November.

“My prediction has not changed,” Lichtman said on his YouTube channel.

“I have frequently made my prediction correctly in defiance of the polls, it’s based on 160 years of precedent.”

Lichtman conceded, however, that there is always a possibility he could be wrong.

“The keys are very robust,” he said. “But it’s always possible that something so cataclysmic and so unprecedented could change the pattern of history.”

The keys aren't wrong. He's just not being honest with himself about who actually holds them.

9 out of 11 isn't bad, Alan. You've got 4 years of work to do with your shrink so you don't fall to 8 out of 11 next time.

I don't remember one of the Keys pertaining to fascism. To my knowledge, Lichtman has never said this or anything remotely close to it. Please show me video footage or an article where he has stated such.

But I believe that he either believes this, or was so desperate for a pat on the head and a "Good Boy" that he just trashed his rating system by calling a race way before he should have.

At least he's got the integrity to go down with his ship now though. It would only further devalue his Keys system if he were to change his tune this late in the race. And really... who could blame Alan? You guys were so busy huffing Harris' asshole for one more hit of Joy and buying into your media circus despite my many warnings against you doing so.

And here we are, less than 2 weeks away from election and Donald Trump is leading Harris in polling in every battleground state and he is only 0.3 points away from leading her in the national popular vote. Unless ALL of the polling firms collectively over-corrected way too hard to the right after failing miserably the last two election cycles, Trump wins on November 5th easily.

Jaynez can put this in his prediction thread, but I don't believe we're going to see Alan Lichtman ever call a Presidential race before the last two weeks of October in the future. The fact that he had the gall to boldy call an unprecedented race like this in August was just asinine on his part.

Since 1928, the S&P 500 – which tracks the performance of 500 of the largest firms listed in the US – has pointed to the winner in 20 out of 24 elections, according to an analysis by financial services company LPL Financial.

When US stocks were up during the three months before election day, the incumbent party kept the White House on 12 out of 15 occasions. And the party in power lost eight out of the last nine times that the market was in negative territory leading up to the vote.

It is not a bad track record as forecasting models go.

With less than two weeks until the election, the S&P 500 is up a healthy 11.8 percent since early August.

Assuming US stocks do not take a dramatic tumble in the final days of the campaign, the historical trend clearly favours Harris.

“I think Trump was the biggest factor in changing the Republican Party from what Ronald Reagan viewed and he wouldn’t recognize today,” McConnell told the Associated Press’ Michael Tackett for the upcoming biography “The Price of Power” obtained by CNN ahead of its release.

McConnell added that the former president has “done a lot of damage to our party’s image and our ability to compete.”

“Trump is appealing to people who haven’t been as successful as other people and providing an excuse for that, that these more successful people have somehow been cheating, and you don’t deserve to think of yourself as less successful because things haven’t been fair,” he said.

Some of McConnell’s strongest comments were focused on Trump’s behavior after he lost the election in 2020, calling him “erratic.”

“Unfortunately, about half the Republicans in the country believe whatever he says,” McConnell said at the time, adding to an oral historian, “I think I’m pretty safe in saying it’s not just the Democrats who are counting the days until he leaves on January 20, but the Republicans as well.” McConnell gave Tackett access to his personal archive, including an oral history he has been recording since 1995, for the book.

MAGA’s Latest Defense of Trump’s Hitler Comments Is the Wildest Yet

Representative Mike Waltz has essentially covered his ears and gone, “La la la!”

In just a handful of hours, Donald Trump’s MAGA allies have gone from arguing that his recent comments about Hitler were misconstrued to just outright claiming that the whole story was completely made up.

During an interview with CNN on Wednesday, Florida Representative Mike Waltz completely rejected the evidence of his eyes and ears, claiming that the Republican presidential nominee’s comments praising Hitler and expecting undying loyalty from his top commanders were phony.

Who’s afraid of Donald Trump?

Multi-billionaire Warren Buffett will not endorse any candidate for President.

The LA Times won't be endorsing for president this year. Neither will the Washington Post. Bill Gates has "quietly" donated $50 million to Kamala Harris. Jamie Dimon "privately" supports Harris but won't say so publicly.

This is all because prominent billionaires are afraid of retribution from Donald Trump if he wins the election. Not social opprobrium or anything like that. Direct retribution from the president of the United States.

Think on that.

WaPo Bails on Kamala, Won't Make Presidential Endorsement
Friday, Oct 25, 2024 - 09:10 AM

On Friday, the Washington Post announced that it would not endorse a candidate for president either, for the first time in 36 years.

The Washington Post will not be making an endorsement of a presidential candidate in this election. Nor in any future presidential election. We are returning to our roots of not endorsing presidential candidates," the outlet said in a statement.

Colleagues are said to be 'shocked' at the decision, according to NPR.

The editorial page editor, David Shipley, told colleagues that the Post's publisher, Will Lewis, would publish a note to readers online early Friday afternoon.

Shipley told colleagues the editorial board was told yesterday by management that there would not be an endorsement. He added that he "owns" this decision. The reason he cited was to create "independent space" where the newspaper does not tell people for whom to vote.

Colleagues were said to be "shocked" and uniformly negative. Post corporate spokespeople have not responded to multiple messages left by NPR on the subject.

Update (1350ET): Details Behind Decision To Dump Harris

The Washington Post has shed light on their decision not to endorse a presidential candidate for the first time in more than 30 years, revealing that "The decision not to publish was made by The Post's owner - Amazon founder Jeff Bezos."

The paper also admits that a Harris endorsement had been drafted by staffers but Jeff killed it.

"Dangerous Times" - LATimes Editor Quits After Owner Strikes Down Kamala Endorsement

The editorial editor for the Los Angeles Times quit in protest after the newspaper’s owner blocked a decision to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I am resigning because I want to make it clear that I am not OK with us being silent,” Mariel Garza told the Columbia Journalism Review.

“In dangerous times, honest people need to stand up. This is how I’m standing up.”

Garza’s resignation followed the news this week that Patrick Soon-Shiong, the billionaire doctor who purchased the Los Angeles Times in 2018 for $500 million, shot down the Times editorial board’s attempt to endorse Harris.

This will be the first election cycle since 2004 in which the Times has not endorsed a candidate.

In a social media post, Soon-Shiong explained he offered the editorial board the chance to “draft a factual analysis of all the POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE policies by EACH candidate during their tenures at the White House, and how these policies affected the nation.”

“With this clear and non-partisan information side-by-side, our readers could decide who would be worthy of being President for the next four years,” he wrote.

“Instead of adopting this path as suggested, the Editorial Board chose to remain silent and I accepted their decision.”

https://headlineusa.com/latimes-editor-quits-kamala-endorsement/

I guess providing an analysis of the positives and negatives of BOTH candidates was just too much honesty for Garza.
