In the years since the pandemic, incumbent parties have been struggling in wealthy democracies across the world. The reasons for this are debated, though post-reopening inflation is likely a big one.

Ultimately, much of the public was more resentful of inflation under Biden than they were about Trump’s attempted election theft. And so voters turned back to the candidate they kicked out of office just four years ago.

That's one reason.

Maybe the people at Vox should have admitted that this was a problem years ago and demand their party do something about it before it got away on them.

Oh well. Maybe next time, kiddo.

I'm pretty sure we're not going to get any more updates for at least a few hours.

I can't imagine anybody is still in the mood to be counting anything right now.

We're at 71,183,547 votes for Trump and 66,251,503 votes for Harris.

Not really any movement at all outside of the West Coast since last update.

California is 54% counted with Harris up only 17%

Oregon is 69% counted with Harris up 12%

Washington is 64% counted with Harris up 20%

Alaska is 71% counted with Trump up 16% (and the NYT STILL hasn't called Alaska for Trump).

Shut the fuck up, you stupid, racist bitch.

There is NO WAY you could even possibly know this to be the case with the data we have now. And boy do I hope you're totally wrong about this and everybody throws it back in your face.

YOU, specifically you and your big, fat, ugly looking racist mouth, Joy Ried, are part of the reason that Trump is our 47th President.

I do hope MSNBC realizes this now and fires you like they should have a LONG time ago.

There is no place for ANYONE like you on a News Network that is even trying to pretend not to have a hard core political bias. You and half of your clown show you consider colleagues need to pack up all your shit and get the fuck out and make room for actual objective journalism carried out by actual objective journalists.

Maybe they've got a spot for the likes of you on The View, where you belong. Although I doubt it because I think their ratings are about to tank too.

The global trend that pushed Donald Trump to victory

Incumbents everywhere are doing poorly. America just proved it’s not exceptional.

By Zack Beauchamp | Nov 6, 2024, 12:46 PM CST

What happened on Tuesday is part of a worldwide wave of anti-incumbent sentiment.

We saw this anti-incumbent wave in elections in the United Kingdom and Botswana; in India and North Macedonia; and in South Korea and South Africa. It continued a global trend begun in the previous year, when voters in Poland and Argentina opted to move on from current leadership. The handful of 2024 exceptions to this general rule look like true outliers: The incumbent party’s victory in Mexico, for example, came after 20 straight defeats for incumbents across Latin America.

Given Trump’s victory, we can confidently say the United States is not exceptional.

You forgot Venezuela, Cuba, Afghanistan, North Korea, China, Israel and Iran. All have shown remarkable stability by keeping the same old political powers in power. The fickle finger of fate always points in the same direction in those countries. The finger never does a 180 degree change, or a 90, or a 45 degree change in direction. Always the same direction. Must get monotonous in those countries.

Trump Won. Now What?
The United States is about to become a different kind of country.

By David Frum | November 6, 2024, 5:45 AM ET

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2024/11/trump-wins-second
-term-presidency/680546
/

Donald Trump has won, and will become president for the second time. Those who voted for him will now celebrate their victory. The rest of us need to prepare to live in a different America: a country where millions of our fellow citizens voted for a president who knowingly promotes hatred and division; who lies—blatantly, shamelessly—every time he appears in public; who plotted to overturn an election in 2020 and, had he not won, was planning to try again in 2024.

Above all, we must learn to live in an America where an overwhelming number of our fellow citizens have chosen a president who holds the most fundamental values and traditions of our democracy, our Constitution, even our military in contempt. Over the past decade, opinion polls have showed Americans’ faith in their institutions waning. But no opinion poll could make this shift in values any clearer than this vote. As a result of this election, the United States will become a different kind of country.

When he was last in the White House, the president-elect ignored ethics and security guidelines, fired inspectors general and other watchdogs, leaked classified information, and used the Department of Homeland Security in the summer of 2020 as if it were the interior ministry of an authoritarian state, deploying U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Coast Guard “troops” in American cities. Trump actively encouraged the January 6, 2021, insurrection at our Capitol. When he left the White House, he stole classified documents and hid them from the FBI.

Because a critical mass of Americans aren’t bothered by that list of transgressions, any one of which would have tanked the career of another politician, Trump and his vice president–elect, J. D. Vance, will now try to transform the federal government into a loyalty machine that serves the interests of himself and his cronies. This was the essence of the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, and its architects, all Trump fans, will now endeavor to make it become reality. Trump will surely try again to dismantle America’s civil service, replacing qualified scientists and regulators with partisan operatives. His allies will help him build a Department of Justice that does not serve the Constitution, but instead focuses on harassing and punishing Trump’s enemies. Trump has spoken, in the past, of using the Federal Communications Commission and the Internal Revenue Service to punish media organizations and anyone else who crosses him, and now he will have the chance to try again.

Perhaps the greater and more insidious danger is not political repression or harassment, but corruption. Autocratic populists around the world—in Hungary, Turkey, Venezuela—have assaulted institutions designed to provide accountability and transparency in order to shift money and influence to their friends and families, and this may happen in America too. This is not just a theoretical threat. As loyalists take over regulatory agencies, filling not only political but also former civil-service jobs, American skies will become more polluted, American food more dangerous. As a result of this massive shift in the country’s bureaucratic culture, Trump-connected companies will prosper, even as America becomes less safe for consumers, for workers, for children, for all of us.

American foreign policy will also reflect this shift toward kleptocracy. In his first term, Trump abused the powers of his office, corrupting American foreign policy for his personal gain. He pressured the Ukrainian president to launch a fake investigation of his political opponent; altered policy toward Turkey, Qatar, and other nations in ways that suited his business interests; even used the Secret Service to funnel government money to his private properties. In a second term, he and the people around him will have every incentive to go much further. Expect them to use American foreign policy and military power to advance their personal and political goals.

There are many things a reelected President Trump cannot do. But there are some things he can do. One is to cut off aid to Ukraine. The Biden administration has three months to drop all half measures and rush supplies to Ukraine before Trump forces a Ukrainian surrender to Russia. If there’s anything in the American arsenal that Ukraine might successfully use—other than nuclear weapons—send it now, before it’s too late.

Another thing Trump can do is to impose further tariffs—and intensify a global trade war not only against China but also against former friends, partners, and allies. America First will be America Alone, no longer Ronald Reagan’s “city on a hill,” but now just another great power animated by predatory nationalism.

Around the world, illiberal politicians who seek to subvert their own democracies will follow America’s lead. With no fear of American criticism or reaction, expect harassment of press and political opponents in countries such as Mexico and Turkey to grow. Expect the Russian-backed electoral cheating recently on display in Georgia and Moldova to spread. Expect violent rhetoric in every democracy: If the American president can get away with it, others will conclude that they can too. The autocratic world, meanwhile, will celebrate the victory of someone whose disdain for the rule of law echoes and matches their own. They can assume that Trump and Vance will not promote human rights, will not care about international law, and will not reinforce our democratic alliances in Europe and Asia.

But the most difficult, most agonizing changes are the ones that will now take place deep inside our society. Radicalization of a part of the anti-Trump camp is inevitable, as people begin to understand that existential issues, such as climate change and gun violence, will not be tackled. A parallel process will take place on the other side of the political spectrum, as right-wing militias, white supremacists, and QAnon cultists are reenergized by the election of the man whose behavior they have, over eight years, learned to imitate. The deep gaps within America will grow deeper. Politics will become even angrier. Trump won by creating division and hatred, and he will continue to do so throughout what is sure to be a stormy second term.

My generation was raised on the belief that America could always be counted upon to do the right thing, even if belatedly: reject the isolationism of America First and join the fight against Nazism; fund the Marshall Plan to stop communism; extend the promise of democracy to all people, without regard to race or sex. But maybe that belief was true only for a specific period, a unique moment. There were many chapters of history in which America did the wrong thing for years or decades. Maybe we are living through such a period now.

Or maybe the truth is that democracy is always a close-run thing, always in contention. If so, then we too must—as people in other failing democracies have learned to do—find new ways to champion wobbling institutions and threatened ideas. For supporters of the American experiment in liberal democracy, our only hope is education, organization, and the creation of a coalition of people dedicated to defending the spirit of the Constitution, the ideals of the Founders, the dream of freedom. More concretely: public civic-education campaigns to replace the lessons no longer taught in schools; teams of lawyers who can fight for the rule of law in courts; grassroots organizing, especially in rural and small-town America; citizens and journalists working to expose and fight the enormous wave of kleptocracy and corruption that will now engulf our political system.

Many of those shattered by this result will be tempted to withdraw into passivity—or recoil into performative radicalism. Reject both. We should focus, instead, on how to win back to the cause of liberal democracy a sufficient number of those Americans who voted for a candidate who denigrated this nation’s institutions and ideals.

Cautious as Russian commentators were about the geopolitical implications of Trump’s win, they clearly considered it to be a boon for Russia domestically.

With obvious glee, Russian commentators and officials jumped on the opportunity to use Trump’s criticism of his opponents as underscoring Moscow’s own depiction of the U.S. as a diseased country in decay, to which Russia, conveniently, provides the perfect foil.

“Trump started talking about that the United States is ill, and that American society should solve those problems,” Zakharova said.

In Vietnam, I was asked how I could sleep soundly with a war going on. Ear plugs. And lack of empathy for crazy nincompoops who deserve to die young. Back in civilian life, being surrounded by dummies' chaotic lives, their "non-optimal" (that's a euphemism) decisions, never caused me to lose sleep about their deep-rooted stupidity and lack of self-control. Their mental illnesses may keep them drinking and over-eating at night and using tobacco during the day but doesn't get sympathy from me or interfere with my sleep.

In Trump’s telling, the economy was in shambles, even when almost every measure said otherwise, and the border was an open sore leeching murderous migrants, when the actual number of crossings had dropped precipitously. All this came wrapped in his signature language of catastrophism.

Donald Trump might be the luckiest guy in the world. Donald Trump should have the easiest presidency ever.

He says he'll turbocharge the economy, and it's already turbocharged. In the latest quarter, real GDP is now an astonishing 2.6% above potential GDP. That's the highest it's been in half a century.

He says he'll cut imports from China, and they've already been cut. Last year imports of goods from China came to 1.28% of GDP, the lowest in 20 years.

He says he'll produce more oil and gas, and both are already at the highest levels in American history.

He says he'll get crime down, and it's already down. Murder is at the lowest rate in more than 40 years.

Overnight the US election system has become reliable and trustworthy. It's amazing the progress Trump can make in less than a week when he puts his mind to it.

More things Trump promised that he has already delivered:

COVID took Donald Trump out of the White House. Four years later, COVID put him back in. Shocks from the pandemic produced generational inflation on a global scale that wreaked havoc on incumbents in country after country. Cost-of-living increases made for an economy that most people feel hasn’t worked for them. This was an election in which fundamental indicators pointed to the bums getting booted out. So they were.

Why Trump Won

By David A. Graham | November 6, 2024, 9:55 AM ET

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2024/11/why-trump-won/680
555
/

Trump consistently offered a clear message that spoke to Americans’ frustration about the economy and the state of the country, and promised to fix it.

Throughout the campaign, Trump told voters that Democrats and undocumented immigrants were responsible for inflation, and that he would fix the problem. Trump promised a way out.

“We’re going to help our country heal,” Trump said in remarks early this morning. “We’re going to help our country heal. We have a country that needs help, and it needs help very badly. We’re going to fix our borders, we’re going to fix everything about our country, and we’ve made history for a reason tonight, and the reason is going to be just that.”

You can contrast that with the message coming from Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party, which was more outwardly hopeful but suffered from a serious, perhaps unfixable, flaw.

Harris promised to protect things like Social Security and Medicare, and warned that Trump would ruin everything that was great about America. This was a fundamentally conservative answer, coming from a Democratic Party that has become strikingly conservative at a time when too many voters were disgusted with the status quo.

The administration argued that inflation was a worldwide trend, caused by COVID, and pointed out that inflation in the U.S. had dropped faster than in peer countries, and that the American economy was running better than any other. All of this was true and also politically unhelpful. You can’t argue people into feeling better with statistics. Democrats had a good empirical case that what they had done to steward the economy was very successful. They just had no political case.

In a bitter turn for Democrats, Trump will now benefit from their governing successes. If he truly attempts to, or succeeds at, speedily deporting millions of people or instituting 60 percent tariffs, he will drive inflation higher and wreck the progress of Biden’s term, but Trump’s own political instincts and the influence of many very wealthy people around him may temper that. Having clearly promised to fix the problem and vanquished his enemies, he’ll now be able to declare a swift victory.

I've been doing my best to call out people reporting some misinformation on YouTube and Twitter the last two days.

I keep hearing "where are all the missing votes?", which is people asking why Kamala Harris has 15 Million votes less than Joe Biden* did. There are also people claiming that Trump won the Popular Vote by over 5,000,000 votes. Neither of the above are true, but idiots are going to idiot on either side, and now the low IQ idiots running channels like The Quartering are claiming these false stats to be the truth.

Now... There are going to be a ton less votes for Harris in the end, with Trump slightly improving his own numbers for 2020, but there are nowhere near 15 Million missing votes from 2020 when the votes are all counted.

As you can see from a simple Google search with the electoral map on the front page, the total count of votes has now risen to 72,787,684 for Trump and 68,142,532 votes for Harris.

The last time I reported on that number was at 5:23 AM yesterday morning, and the numbers at that time were only 70,591,885 for Trump and 65,643,227 for Harris. That's more than a 5.5 Million rise in the last 30 or so hours and there's still a LOT of California and the rest of the West Coast to count their ballots. We still don't even know who won Nevada or Arizona either. If you look at all the red states, voting is all but complete. Outside of the West Coast blue states, it looks like only Maryland is the only Blue state that still might have a significant total to still figure out.

So already we can see that the race has tightened from Trump's peak of 5.2 Million votes over Harris to only 4.645 Million today, and there have also been 5 Million additional votes counted in that time.

California already has 9.7 Million votes counted, but that's only 55% of the state counted. So far, they're only swinging 17% for Harris in California, so it's not going to help her too much in the popular vote, but I think that number will increase to over 20% at least when the state is finished if not as high as 25%.

So I'm just going to give Harris 2 to 1 on the remainder of the California count, which I believe is overly generous.

There's still about 9 Million more votes in California. I'll give 6 to Harris and 3 to Trump.

Now we're at roughly 76 Million votes for Trump and 74 Million votes for Harris with some more still needed to be counted in Washington, Oregon, Maryland, Arizona and New Mexico being the vast remainder of the rest of the results.

It's probably a 2 Million win for Trump on the Popular vote in the end right now. I give a small possibility that he wins by more than 3 Million... Maybe 10%-15% chance?

Without doing a deep dive, which would entail investigating which counties still need to be counted in which states and a whole lot of math, I'm just doing some light figuring in my head here based off of the vote map by state on Google. And I'm probably giving more to Harris than I should of the remaining share, but I want to err on the side of caution here. My final guess once the votes are all counted up would be somewhere in the area of 77 Million for Trump and 75 Million for Harris.

The 2020 results were 74,223,369 for Trump and 81,282,916 votes for Biden*

The total EXACT vote count in 2020 was 155,506,285.

My guess right now is they have somewhere in the area of 152 Million votes in total after they're all counted up.

That's only 3.5 Million missing votes. Not 15 Million.

And it would only be a 2 to possibly 3 Million surplus of votes for Trump. Not 5 Million.

The big question should be, why do morons on YouTube from both sides make so much money at this when they're too stupid to actually do the work to give people legitimate information?

We know that Ted knows what I'm talking about. Long after I said I already tuned out most of these retards and their clickbait crap, Ted couldn't stop posting it all day, every day, from anybody who had something positive to say about Harris and her chances (or negative about Trump and his).

Now he knows.

I just get pissed when I see this shit happening, no matter who does it.

Every one of Jeremy's viewers today who don't do any research on their own now believe that there are 15 Million missing votes and that Trump won by 5 Million votes because Jeremy just barely makes 3-digit IQ and all he cares about anymore is churning out content for the ad revenue and constantly shilling his drop-shipment coffee which he claims isn't drop-shipment coffee.

To further elaborate on the above issue...

The problem with stuff like this is that it's how false rumors spread and why so many people in this country believe untrue stuff and keep spreading it all around. Everybody thinks they know everything, and confidently proclaim bullshit like this to be true every day to anybody who will listen.

My guess that when the next election takes place, there will still be people saying that 15 Million votes disappeared last election and that Trump won 2024 by 5 Million votes.

Then when people go and look for themselves after having believed this lie for 4 years straight, they're going to start going over to the Mandella Effect forums and join the ever-growing group of narcissistic autists who all believe they come from a different timeline than the rest of us do because in the world they came from Kit-Kat doesn't have a hyphen in it. (Or is it that Kit Kat has a hyphen where they come from? Who gives a shit.)

Uggggggggghhhhhhh.......

I think I just hate being smart sometimes.

If somebody were to come to me and say "Hey. Here's $200,000. The only catch is that you'll live the rest of your life 30 IQ points lower".... I'd have to really think long and hard about it.

If they gave me the offer to test-drive it for a day and see how I liked it, you bet your ass I would.

Why so cheap?

Because, I suspect, they'd be the ones doing me a favor, and then paying me money on top of it. It would be like somebody offering to re-roof my house and then giving me a brand new pickup truck for letting them work on it.

I don't know when they were announced, but it looks like Nevada and Michigan were called for Trump and recognized by CNN and MSNBC eventually at some point.

CNN and MSNBC both show the Electoral Count at 301 / 226 right now. Real Clear Politics has it at 312 / 226. Apparently they've already given Arizona to Trump.

The popular vote count now stands at 73,407,735 Trump and 69,074,145 for Harris.

This is increased from 72,787,684 for Trump and 68,142,532 votes for Harris on the last update this afternoon.

Kamala is still under 18% of the vote in California, but she has climbed back to 17.8% from only 17%. It's possible that I may have severely over estimated the amount of uncounted votes that would break for Harris when I was being overly-cautious about it in my prediction of the final vote counts earlier. I still have no desire to do a deep dive into the counties to come up with a better prediction since it doesn't really matter at this point. Nothing to do now but wait and see.

59% of California has now been counted. 81% of Oregon and 89% of Washington have been counted. 83% of Maryland has been counted. 82% of Colorado has been counted. 76% of Arizona has been counted. 77% of Alaska is counted. Pretty much everybody else is done or just wrapping up.

Democrats Should Relax. Voters Will Hate Republican Government Too!
It’s just not a good time to be a politician in the United States, or anywhere else.

On Thursday, the Financial Times published a chart showing that every incumbent party facing reelection in a developed-world country this year lost vote share for the first time since 1905, when the data started being recorded. Why that is, and why the U.S. is part of the trend despite a surging stock market and GDP, might be interesting to try and figure out—is it inflation, is it home prices, is it wealth inequality, is it something more ambient about the loss of meaning and direction in a largely virtual, service-oriented world? Who knows! Whatever it is, though, it’s Donald Trump’s problem now.

The good news, such as it is? Donald Trump’s own favorability rating, as the guy who just won the presidential election, is minus 9. If that holds, it would be even worse than it was the previous time he took office, and about the same as it was just prior to COVID—the period of relative economic calm that this year’s crucial swing voters apparently remember so fondly.

Governing parties have lost every single election so far in 2024. People all over the globe wanted to throw the bums out

Here's an interesting chart from the Financial Times that shows how well governing parties have done in elections through the years:

The point of this chart is supposed to be that, for the first time ever, governing parties have lost every single election so far in 2024. People all over the globe wanted to throw the bums out, and they did. Kamala Harris was a victim of an unstoppable force.

I still see that idiots like Jeremy at The Quartering are going around telling everyone that there are 15 Million missing votes today.

At this point, it's not even that there are uncounted votes that will show this is not the truth eventually, but it's not even true anymore while he made that video.

When I first brought this up yesterday, almost exactly 24 hours ago, the vote count was 72,787,684 for Trump and 68,142,532 Harris, or roughly 141 Million votes.

The total vote count in 2020 was 155,506,285. (so as you can see, even yesterday when those videos were made they already were overstating the loss of votes from 2020 by 500,000)

Currently, the vote count is 73,605,087 Trump and 69,288,262 Harris, or just shy of 143 Million.

That brings us to only 12 Million less votes than 2020. (And also, Trump's lead has shrunk down to only 4.3 Million, down from his peak which I called his peak of 5.2 Million early on Wednesday morning).

32% of California still needs to be counted, and they're at roughly 10.3 Million counted already. That alone, is going to be another 5 Million, and it looks like it's swinging 3 votes for Harris for every 2 votes for Trump. Trump will get another 2 Million in California and Harris will get another 3 Million.

Now we're only short 7 Million votes from 2020 in total when California is counted up, less than half of what Jeremy at the Quartering claims in a video he just made within the last hour or two.

Outside of that, we still have 13% to count in Washington, 19% to count in Oregon, 16% to count in Colorado, 4% in Nevada, 22% in Arizona, 23% in Alaska and 16% left to count in Maryland. Maybe another Million or two votes left to count across all of those states as well? I'm sure there's more than that that I'm missing, and none of the maps ever show more than 99% so who knows how many states actually still have some absentee and other mail-in shenanigan votes to count too.

At the end of the counting, there will only be roughly 4 to 6 Million less votes cast in 2024 than in 2020. Not 15 Million.

Trump will end up winning the Popular vote by more than 2 Million now. It will likely be somewhere around 2.5 Million, and maybe even 3 Million if he's lucky. He will have increased his votes from 2020 by at least 1 Million, up to 3 Million.

I haven't been looking much at the Senate races, but my old man has and he thinks that's it for Republican pickups. Their dreams of having 55 or 56 have been squashed.

The house is at 214 Republican / 203 Democrat. Democrats have now flipped enough of their own to bring it back to only a +1 gain for Republicans so far. 218 to win.

Kamala Harris spent $1.4 BILLION on this campaign.

One of the first things I'd be doing is investigating where that money actually went and who all is walking away with tens of millions and lock them all up.

However.
That the 2024 vote is less than the 2020 vote, by ANY amount, shores up the idea that that the 2020 vote was marred by substantial, outcome- altering ballot-stuffing.

2024 was just as hotly contested as 2020, so there is no reason to think that 2024 would be less than 2020.

OTOH 2020 was in the middle of Covid, when in-person voting was a scary thought for many. So theoretically 2020 should have been LESS than 2024, if only legitimate voters voted.

Absolutely.

But my problem with The Quartering and quite a few other channels on YouTube is that they're stuffing everyone's head with a 15 Million number that they're all going to remember and that number is going to be 3 times what reality was. They very likely won't ever cover the actual numbers when they're all in because by that time almost nobody even gives a shit anymore, but if it ever becomes a relevant topic, such as arguing against the practices that took place in 2020, millions of low-info people are going to be spouting wildly inaccurate numbers out.

This is what the Legacy Media does all the time. This is why the Legacy Media has no credibility.

Quote:

I don't believe that it really was as hotly contested as 2020 was. The media talked about it all the time, and the celebrities sure were crying about it every chance they could, but most people I know aren't going around talking and thinking about politics 24/7. That's the stuff that happens on college campuses, tech company break rooms and Liberal shithole big cities.

Quote:

OTOH 2020 was in the middle of Covid, when in-person voting was a scary thought for many. So theoretically 2020 should have been LESS than 2024, if only legitimate voters voted.

See... We've got to be careful about how we word stuff like this. "legitimate voters". There are people out there right now arguing that there were 15 Million fraudulent ballots cast in 2020 that disappeared in 2024.

I don't believe anything close to only a million were fucked with. Not even half a million. Probably not even 100,000. Something huge like that would just be stupid. Trump only lost 2020 by 44,000 votes across 3 states. Any sort of fuckery that was going on was on a very micro scale, and it was infinitely easy to hide because all the voting rules in swing-states were changed last-minute using Covid as the excuse.

There was nobody, for instance, making sure that the people going out door to door harvesting ballots didn't throw all the votes for Trump in the fireplace before stuffing the ballot boxes. THAT is how the true cheating happened, and nobody besides me has ever brought it up.

Dumb fucks with over a million subscribers telling all their viewers that 15 Million votes in 2020 were fraudulent is really starting to get under my fucking skin. All they are doing is de-legitimatizing any valid arguments about what really happened in 2020 when they loudly proclaim wildly false and easily debunked statements are fact.

You think MSNBC doesn't watch The Quartering after Election 2024? I wouldn't bet on it. If I were working over there right now I'd be writing up an article about how that "Alt-Right YouTuber" was riling up his 1 Million+ MAGA trash subscriber base by claiming the 2020 election was rigged because there were 15 Million fraudulent votes. And I'd have all of my stats up on the screen like they do over at CNN proving how the Quartering is "lying".

Now I don't believe he's lying. I just think that he's not smart enough to talk about politics at all, and he obviously hasn't hired anybody on his crew that should be talking about politics either. It's just not something that he is any good at. It would be like if Ted got 1 Million subscribers talking about Firefly everyday and then he started talking politics for a month straight around election time. Now that the election is over, Jeremy should stop talking about politics since he has very little grasp on anything in that world and get back to talking about pop culture.

Senate race is done. 53R / 47D.

House is at 214R / 205D. 218 to win.

Popular vote now sits at 74,250,148 for Trump, 70,349,482 for Harris. Trump's lead is now down to 3.9 Million.

Total vote count is now 144,599,630, or now only 10,906,655 less votes than in 2020.

37% left to count in California and Harris has climbed over 18% now for the lead in the state. She's still not quite getting 3 votes for every 2 of Trump's in California. There are still around 6 Million votes left to count here.

16% left to count in Oregon, 10% left in Washington, 18% left in Arizona, 23% left in Alaska, 9% left in Colorado, 15% in Maryland.

I am guessing you don't know much about history. Note that the book title has "violence" in it. Joanne Freeman, a professor of history at Yale University, whose most recent book is The Field of Blood: Congressional Violence in Antebellum America is interviewed. The main question the professor was asked:

What the Founding Fathers Would Say About Trump’s Win

November 8, 2024, 12:01 PM

https://foreignpolicy.com/2024/11/08/what-the-founding-fathers-would-s
ay-about-trumps-win
/

RA: Joanne, how do you imagine the Founding Fathers would interpret this week’s news?

Joanne Freeman: Well, they might say “I told you so.” If you read the personal letters, anything that they were writing in the founding era, it’s hard to say that the founders agreed on a lot, but they did agree that the greatest threat to any republic, but particularly a democratic republic, was a demagogue. The world was monarchies at the time and a democratic republic grounded on public opinion was experimental. What made these largely elitist founders nervous was that “the public” would be easily persuaded, warped, led astray by someone who could get their emotions riled up. That’s the vulnerability of anything democratic, that the people and their emotions can lead them astray. And historically speaking — going back to ancient Greece, ancient Rome — when they looked at republics, what they saw were demagogues saying anything that they possibly could to get the public’s emotions flowing, to woo the public, and then once they got power, doing whatever they wanted and becoming tyrants. They talked about that throughout the entire founding period when trying to evaluate politics in the first decade of the republic. That was what was on their mind. So, in a way, this is an easy question to answer because that would be the absolute first thing that they would say — “We told you. We told you that demagogue tendencies are the vulnerability, and now here you are.”

* – *

Look at the debates at the Constitutional Convention, look at the concerns of that general generation of power holders, and what they were worried about was executive power. And so they felt that they were bounding in the executive in a variety of different ways that would prevent this from being too powerful an executive.

In the founding era and particularly in the 19th century, Congress was at the center of news coverage, journalism, and power. There certainly were executives that were exceptions to that rule, but before the Civil War, most people felt power was in Congress. Now we live in this moment of apparent executive immunity. It’s a fact that the men of the founding era would have been absolutely against executive immunity. There is nothing in the Constitution that justifies an immune national executive.

* – *

But he also discovered that you can get away with a lot. You don’t just have to flex the technical rules or find loopholes and ways to undercut congressional opponents. You can just do things, and often the pushback is so much weaker than you would imagine. That was a lot of what his first term was about. He would go to places you thought you couldn’t go as president and it was okay as long as the internal norms that you’re guided by don’t check you. He’s been explicit that in the next four years, especially with Project 2025, we are going to see a significant ramping up of an already powerful presidency that tries to cut the power of Congress further, undermine the power of the courts, and demonstrate that if someone is willing to use the presidency in a robust and aggressive fashion, no one’s really going to do anything about it. They might criticize it, but the fallout won’t be as severe.

One last thing. He just was reelected four years after using presidential power to try to overturn an election. That’s a dramatic thing that just happened. And I think he understands this election as saying “all of that was fine” and he can overcome any kind of political threat or criticism.

Joanne Freeman, a professor of history at Yale University, whose most recent book is The Field of Blood: Congressional Violence in Antebellum America.

Senate: 53R / 47D

House: 216R / 208D. 218 to win.

Popular vote is now 74,331,522 for Trump, 70,409,153 for Harris.

TOTAL COUNTED VOTES: 144,740,675

Trump's lead is now down to 3,922,369 votes.

It would be tempting to claim that Trump should easily win by over 3 Million votes at this point, but California is REALLY slow-walking things. They still have 37% of the votes left to count, because the California government is a fucking joke. I don't think California counted a single vote today. I don't care that it's the weekend, they should be forced to work until the last vote is counted. You want to poison the well with 10 Million mail-in fraud votes every election? Then you don't get a day off until they're finished being counted. Even when you lose and half of you are on suicide watch.

There were about 150,000 votes counted in total today. I have no idea where they came from. My guess is that they weren't from any of the states that are a long way away from finishing and it was just some final numbers for a few states that are sitting at "99%".

Other states that still need counting.... 10% left in Washington, 16% left in Oregon, 17% in Arizona, 23% in Alaska, 8% in Colorado, 14% in Maryland, 17% in Utah, 3% in Nevada, 1% in Illinois, 1% in Maine, 1% in New Hampshire, 1% in Connecticut, 5% in New Jersey, 9% in Washington D.C.

Every other state is listed at "99%" on the Google homepage map. Whatever "99%" actually means.

Not one person is impressed with her piece of paper stating that she's been sufficiently brainwashed, or that she is continuing the brainwashing tradition on a new generation of Ivy League douche bags who, just like her, will never do an honest day of work in their lives.

Nor does anybody give a single shit about Joanne's book.

Also, although I don't provide the data here, I have reason to believe that states such as Virginia, New Hampshire and even Minnesota are in play as well.

These numbers probably aren't official yet, but according to Google's maps, here's where those states stand now...

Virginia: Harris +5.2 (51.8% Harris / 46.6% Trump)

New Hampshire: Harris +2.7 (50.9% Harris / 48.2% Trump)

Minnesota: Harris +4.2 (51.1% Harris / 46.9% Trump)

2 out of 3 of them were within most polling outfit's margin of error, and the third one just narrowly outside of it.

What did those three states look like in 2020?

Virginia: Biden +10.1

New Hampshire: Biden +7.4

Minnesota: Biden +7.1

https://www.cookpolitical.com/vote-tracker/2020/electoral-college

And in 2016?

Virginia: Clinton +5.3

New Hampshire: Clinton +0.4

Minnesota: Clinton +1.5

https://ballotpedia.org/Presidential_battleground_states,_2016

Joe Biden's insane harvested ballot count made it look like Democrats were going to run away with these 3 states forever.

Though it's obvious Harris wasn't as repulsive to them as Hillary Clinton was except for in Virginia, these three "safe" Democrat states were far closer than any of the states that the Legacy Media was trying to convince you would be very close between Trump and Harris. Yanno... states like Iowa, Florida, Texas and Maine District 2 (Which Trump won by 13.3%, 13.1%, 13.9% and 9.2%, respectively).

I think we're seeing a shift here. If the Deep State doesn't manage to destroy Trump and his team and things actually start getting better now, it may be a very long time before a Democrat gets reelected for President.

Who would they even run 4 years from now? Every one of their big names are hated by everybody, including their own. On top of that, because they've tried to be the party that caters to everyone who isn't a white male, there is a TON of constant infighting 24/7 that the media never talks about. Most people in the Democrat party from the constituents up to the top brass hate other people sitting under the umbrella with them.

Trust me... All that chronic racism and sexism that they try to project on everyone but themselves is in full effect against each other when the camera's aren't turned on.

That situation is untenable. And I think we're going to start seeing a lot of that infighting become public over the next few months as everyone continues to point fingers at everyone else and nobody takes any responsibility for the massive loss.

You guys should have run Michael Obama like I told you to. You probably would have eeked out a win this year by running her. I don't think anybody is going to buy into the race/sex bullshit any longer though, so I think that was your last opportunity to run her just on her sex and race.

You guys better figure out another grift quick. Yanno... if you're not actually going to do the hard work and take the steps necessary to fix your party now.

You probably forgot this, but I was raised in family that switched religions from Baptist to Jehovah's Witnesses, a minority religion where followers do NOT vote and have been jailed (in America and Russia) for their beliefs. You also forgot that my angry poor white trash relatives who did not switch religions went on to become Trumptards who struggled, suffered, and died young.

Meanwhile, my Jehovah Witness parents, who worked at Burger King, lived long and healthy lives, became millionaires, as did my sisters, the school teacher (74 y.o.) and the nurse (66 y.o.) both still working. My family is proof that the American Dream is readily reached by decent people while Trumptards achieve far less because of their rotten behavior everyday. Voting for Trump amounts to no change in your life. Instead, you have change the way you act if you are going to prosper.

Funny thing, my nieces and nephews who dropped their parents' religion have not prospered and have become Trumptards in the mistaken belief that a change in government will bring prosperity to them, not a change in their own actions.

Oh No! Trump Already Solved Every Problem As President-Elect And Now Will Have Nothing To Do As President

PALM BEACH, FL — Just four days after winning the election, President-Elect Donald Trump already finished solving every single problem in the world and will sadly now have nothing to do for the next four years.

Despite not having even been sworn in, Trump has already succeeded in starting peace talks in Ukraine, kicking Hamas out of Qatar, restoring fortunes to retirement accounts, reducing gas prices, halting migrant caravans, securing natural gas purchases from the E.U., and even getting Target to put up signs saying "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays."

"It took me four whole days, but I got it done, all the world's problems solved," Trump told reporters. "I don't know what I'm going to do the next four years, but we're going to keep on winning, let me tell you. Maybe winning at pickleball since I have no work left to do, I don't know. I like winning at golf, but it's almost too easy now. You just hit the ball and it goes in the hole, which some people find very difficult, I don't know why."

At publishing time, Trump had decided to perhaps continue working as a McDonald's fry chef to keep busy while he's President.
