Hello,

An amazing tale of a newborn declared dead, nailed into a coffin, and placed in a refrigerator for half a day...

before being found alive!

God bless her.

It's actually surprisingly common for newborns to not be breathing or have a heartbeat when they're first born, and for confusion like this to occur.

I've heard of something called touch therapy, which is what it says. Something about the warmth of being held that I guess a parent transfers or something, it might take a few hours but they actually can come around.

being put in a fridge though. Brr.

Moment of Death from National Geographic, documentary.
This happened when one Bill Bondar was found by his wife in
their front yard; he was dead -- pretty much. But he's OK
now. No heartbeat, no breathing, but they restarted him with
defibrolation.

At the hospital, they put him on life support, they checked
for brain activity. The brain was active; Bill was in a coma.
He was wrapped in a cooling "suit" lowering the body's temp-
erature = therapeutic hypothermia. In a very cold body, the
cells don't die off.

I don't recall anything about his eventual wake up. The
documentary zooms over it without details. The point is,
he survived a period of apparent death & then hypothermia.
Can it be that a comatose body doesn't die from the stress
of hypothermia? I know I would!

The movie says that not everyone can be resusitated. The
hospital gets a DOA; they defibrolate and put the body on
life support. But if they find 0 brain activity, that person is
really dead. Is an organ donor.

So with the baby, Luz Milagros ... maybe she was comatose,
and the refridgeration preserved her cellular life until she
was touched and able, somehow, to respond.

Had the doctors checked for brain activity before pronouncing
her dead?

I hope she makes it now. Pretty miraculous, yes!

Newborns are really resiliant, they can survive some whacky stuff, actually babies up to about six months old can do amazing things, they can swimm and get frozen and survive, I saw this survival show where the couple nearly died and the baby froze, but thawed out and was as good as new. Its pretty amazing.

As to Frem, I seem to recall him mentioning an oath sister somewhere ...

I assume you're my pal until you let me know otherwise.

FREMDFIRMA

Ayep, just got off the phone with her, she was born in the same town, on the same day, of the same year - save that she's the morning to my evening, and she even married a guy with the same name who's like a mirror opposite of me - he's a heroic paladin type, and yet we almost always come to the exact same conclusions from opposite ends of the moral spectrum.

So yeah, the weirdest part of it is that our cogitation process is such a match that we can finish each others sentences or have whole conversations by verbalizing only the beginning of concepts, which drives anyone listening completely up the wall.
"So, like before... yeah, and then.. oh yes, always.. but why.. the money. ah, but only? well.. that other thing, oh, that too, sure."
Trust me, NOBODY else has ANY BLOODY IDEA what we're talkin about half the time.

And yah, I was supposed to be stillborn, got flatlined (and recovered, FROM A FLATLINE, with no medical intervention) from a bad reaction to the MMR vaccine, given in defiance of the express wishes of myself and my mother - was called in as a DOA after the accident, assumed to be terminal, then reported dead when someone pulling an identity theft ALSO got into a fatal 50cc versus car accident (not my fault that one!), and most recently shoulda been dead on the spot from the medical issue which recently hospitalized me...
I'm pretty hard to finish off, SOP for my family and friends upon being told I won't make it is to laugh sarcastically, and upon being informed of my demise demanding to see the body.

More power to this kid, I say - Life is tougher than most people think it is, and so are many people.

I think Frem has much more to accomplish in this world, he can't die yet because there is more for him to do.

I assume you're my pal until you let me know otherwise.
