The remaining members of Fireflyfans.net should not be subjected to Second's behavior, his calls for violence, his racism and his wishing death on others he doesn't agree with.

I'm asking Haken now to finally remove Second from these boards. Ever since his other handle Reaverfan was banned from Fireflyfans.net, his Second handle has devolved into little more than a violence fantasy factory.

I decided at this time not to add the stuff that Kiki has archived on her own through this site, because there are no time stamps here and unless there is a way to find posts and date/time stamps on the administrative side to verify them, they were not archived offsite like the preceding posts were. Though I do know that her archival were things he said in the past, it is too easy to fake somebody else's posts by these means without an outside archival website and I will not enter them here unless asked for them.


At this point I ask Haken either to give a stern talking to at Second about his behavior, or just outright ban him from the site entirely. There is a line, and he has repeatedly crossed it under his Second handle nearly as frequently as he did under his unabashedly toxic Reaverfan handle after he lost it.

Character building. If that were the only thing he ever did bad here we wouldn't even be talking about this right now.

Despite his own opinions about himself, Second is not a good person. Every behavior exhibited by Second shows him to be a hypocrite to the core. He's better than everyone else, so he can do say whatever he wants, whenever he wants, even if it breaks his own rules and standards that he demands everyone else abide.

How many times has he called others here, including you, racist? Yet there's posts like that from the tips of his fingers. His post history will show a lot more than that. I didn't really start archiving anything until his Reaverfan handle was getting a bit too insane and I realized that he had started going back through his post history and deleting things.

And it should be noted that if you look at the "Russia invades Ukraine. Again" thread today (which has also been archived), he asked me to do this.

It should also be noted that if pushing this results in my own post history dug up and thrown in my face resulting in my own ban from this site, I'm okay with that too. It was a consideration that I made when pushing the issue with his Reaverfan handle, and it was a consideration I made before posting this thread today.

I've apologized to everyone here for my behavior while I was drinking. I will not do so again. It will be the single instance that I ever apologize for my past.

In any event, my entire post history is here for everyone to see and that has never changed. I have not ever once gone back and deleted a single post that I have ever made, nor will I be shamed in July of 2022 or beyond for things that I said when I was a much different person than I am today.

That being said I will restate that if pushing this issue results in my own ban for my own post history, that is an acceptable outcome for me. I feel this issue is too important to let any fear of my own demons being dragged out of the closet to keep me from bringing it to light. I take full responsibility for my actions, past, present and future.

Have you ever watched Firefly? The entire cast, the production crew at FOX, the Firefly writers, and the executive producer Joss Whedon were calling for instantaneous executions of people who were annoying or in the way of Mal. Where were the judges for the poor people about to die? Where was the jury? When was the sentencing phase by a compassionate judge? None of that was on Firefly. Mal, Zoe, Jayne and River were always skipping over all those intermediate steps and going directly to execution in less than a minute after the soon to be dead man offended the sensibilities of the crew of Serenity. The Trump Legal Team’s Inane, Circular Argument for Why He Can Never Be Prosecuted

A recent barrage of editorials argues that it’s too risky to democracy to criminally investigate a former president and the current leader of the Republican Party, even if said leader can’t seem to stop himself from breaking the law.

Ultimately, that argument boils down to: Trump should be granted impunity to do anything he wants no matter how criminal lest his supporters become angry, or unless you want to give a future Republican president free reign to retaliate against his political rivals. In his filing, Trump makes a version of this same argument, essentially saying: You can’t investigate me, it’s a midterm year and I might run for president.

Under the logic of the filing there is never an appropriate time to investigate, or ultimately, prosecute Trump for any criminal behavior, ever. The filing suggests the Department of Justice was wrong to pursue Trump, because it is corrupt to investigate him while he’s cooperating with a probe, or after he’s failed to cooperate (if it’s too close to a midterm election), or so long as he is threatening to run for office ever again.

The motion even puts it in a manner that dubiously overstates Trump’s political strength. It would read as ironic if the Trump team had any self-awareness:

"Politics cannot be allowed to impact the administration of justice. President Donald J. Trump is the clear frontrunner in the 2024 Republican Presidential Primary and in the 2024 General Election, should he decide to run. Beyond that, his endorsement in the 2022 mid-term elections has been decisive for Republican candidates." - Trump's lawyers

You see, Trump might decide to run for president, and according to his own lawyers, he’s a shoo-in for victory if he does. Also, he’s made a bunch of endorsements in the 2022 midterm primaries, and many of them have panned out (even if others have imploded spectacularly). Therefore, ipso facto, you can never investigate or prosecute him, even for refusing to comply with a lawful subpoena and turn over “scores” of classified documents, some of which were classified under the highest security level, because justice should not be corrupted by politics. Game, set, match. Donald Trump will be in politics forever!

Trump points to the statement from Attorney General Merrick Garland releasing the details of the Mar-a-Lago search warrant (which showed that a judge found probable cause that Trump violated the Espionage Act and obstructed justice) to prove that this is all political, and therefore he should get his documents back. Here’s what Trump’s team says of the fact that Garland said he approved the search warrant himself:

"This public statement is deeply troubling, given that President Donald J. Trump is the clear frontrunner in the 2024 Republican Presidential Primary and in the 2024 General Election, should he decide to run. The statement clearly suggests that the decision to raid Mar-a-Lago, a mere 90 days before the 2022 midterm elections, involved political calculations aimed at diminishing the leading voice in the Republican party, President Trump."

The motion further argues that Garland’s statement “stray from long-standing DOJ policy” by “confirming the existence of or otherwise commenting about ongoing investigations.”

It fails to mention that Garland’s statement came only after Trump announced the search himself and spent days spreading the lie that FBI agents may have “planted” materials at his residence. It also came after leading Republicans demanded “immediate” “transparency” from Garland, lest the search be considered a corrupt breach that required Congressional oversight. It’s a neat trick. Demand transparency and then when transparency is offered, call it political gamesmanship.

Funnily, in the same motion in which Trump’s attorneys lambasted the attorney general for talking about the raid publicly, they also demanded he do so some more, arguing “there is no basis for keeping information about the raid from the public.”

Heads Trump wins, tails everyone else loses.

What about if the DOJ had acted prior to this tense period entering the final stretch of the midterm election season? Would that have been OK with the president’s lawyers? No, that wouldn’t have worked either—because prior to now, Trump claims he “voluntarily cooperated with your every request.” (There’s even an entire section in the motion titled “President Donald J. Trump’s Voluntary Assistance.”)

Trump has not provided adequate voluntary assistance—as the New York Times reported on Monday, that cooperation did not extend to turning over “26 boxes, including 11 sets of material marked as classified, comprising scores of additional documents.” As the Times added: “One set had the highest level of classification, top secret/sensitive compartmented information.”

Could all of this have been a “breakdown in communications between President Trump’s representatives and the Government,” as the motion states? Perhaps it just wasn’t clear which documents marked “top secret/sensitive compartmented information” the government was interested in getting back?

Might I suggest you make this your last one. Haken appears to have now moved on to the most hands-off approach possible on this website that we've ever seen, and I assume that at this point it has become nothing but a burden in his life.
