You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Has everyone seen DesktopHippie's shiny animated banners? They're in her Blue Sun Room (most of them) and they are so shiny!

I went and asked Barticus if I could use his beautiful portraits for some banners I wanted to do for the SSC. And he said YES! I am so thrilled. I love his illustrations and have been itching to use them in something.

Here are the prototypes I have so far. The main use are as teasers for the series, that may someday be used to lead folks to the FF myspace page we hope to set up this summer. Right now I'm using FFF.net as a placeholder.

REMINDER: If you wish to use another FFF's artwork for your own designs, PLEASE ask them for permission. They work so hard on their beautiful submissions to the Blue Sun Room, they should get credit for their work.

All comments welcome, shiny or otherwise.

Yay! I got praise!

Hera, I ~love~ your banners and can't wait to see the finished ones. The designs are brilliant. I especially like the Jayne one - "a bad guy for watching your back." Perfect for sparking interest!

Everyone's free to use my banners and sigs from the blue sun room. Just be sure to post a link to the blue sun room so that others out there can choose a banner made by me or the other shiny animators and artists hanging around there. Or they can just gawk at mrphillips' stuff like I usually do :)

Thank you Desktophippie for the praise! Coming from you as the goddess of the animated graphics, I feel unworthy. What program do you use to animate your gifs? I've always been curious. Are you on a PC or a Mac?

More soon! Seems I'm on a mission. The hardest thing is slipping the double meanings into the headlines. But it's also the funnest part! Well, aside from choosing the colors.

I'm on a PC. A clunky little laptop that doesn't even have net access. It's my pride and joy. Pressie from Mum :)

I use a program I got for free. Serif Draw plus 5. I got it with a web design magazine. I don't design websites, but I teach computers and I try to branch out.

Anyway, you just load the program and register with serif (i.e get jumk mail from them) and you can animate all sorts of images! I know you can download serif draw plus 4 from their website. I imagine 5 must be up there now too. They're up to version 8, so older versions are free.

I'm a Goddess. Yay! *is proud*

And a goddess on a PC, no less. I'm on a Mac, and I'm finally teaching myself some Photoshop with this personal project. Mostly I just do page layout.

OK, here are the next three. Suggestions?
