INDEPENDENCESOLDIER

Hey there everyone. I was just wondering if there were any other Alaskan Browncoats out there.

I've been watching Firefly since it was first on the air and every Wednesday I would go back to school wanting so badly to talk about it my experiences with the show with other people, but there was nobody else there who watched it. I felt so alone and I was wondering if there was anyone else out there who felt the same way back those oh-so-many years ago.

This show touched my soul and I was so sad when I realized it was canceled that I almost did not go to school the next day. If I had had internet access back then I know I would have been on the front lines with all the other Browncoats, but unfortunetly I was left to fight a different battle.

Now I wish to make ammends. If there are any other Alaskan Browncoats out there who have formed regimines or are intersted in forming one, let me know.

FLORALBUNNY

Ahoy, IndependenceSoldier, and welcome home!
You are #24067 on this shiny crew, so step
right up and have a mug of Mudder's with some
strawberries.

There are definitely some AK Browncoats aboard.
You might attract them by editing your thread
title to something like "Looking for Alaska Browncoats" so nobody's fooled by the "rant"
reference. Maybe the 76th roll-call will be a
source for you.

Come on up to the galley and let's question the
buffet. Got loads of festive leftovers and
some not-overs as well.

Ice-planets are in the cooler, bottom shelf.

Please don't step on ShipsCat or into her dish.

Think of ways you can spread the Firefly love in
Alaska so there'll be more browncoats around you. ::-)

Welcome, IndependenceSoldier! We're glad you've joined us.

Looks like you've been greeted and feted by FB who sure knows how to serve up good grub. I don't know how she comes up with the strawberries all the time.. seems she has an inside line to the best ones from each planet we get near.

I am the supply clerk around here and when folks arrive for the first time, if I'm around I hand out browncoats...

*hands IndependenceSoldier a browncoat like Mal's that fits just right ( too bad it's only virtual!)*

Please post often and thank you for holdin' the line with us.

Oh, and I do indeed know another Alaskan Browncoat ! She spends a mighty lot of time over on the Browncoat Board appreciatin' the fellow who plays Cap'n Mal.
Kinda hard to pull her away.. .. but I'll let her know you're here.

Go to www.goodworkspresents.org to find out how to honor the Captain!

VERSEEXPLORER

Welcome, IndependenceSoldier. I empathize with how you felt. I watched Firefly when it originally aired, and I wanted to talk to folks about it, but no one I knew was watching it. I didn't know that anyone cared about it until the summer of 2005 when I heard that Serenity had been made from the canceled series.

I've recently signed up on FFF.net to see what I could do to help promote a sequel. There are a lot of great ideas around. You can check out some of them at the Guerilla Marketing Thread.

I'm sure there are a few Alaskan Browncoats. Editing your title like Floral Bunny suggests might help find one here at FFF.net. Getting the box set of DVDs and sharing them with your friends is a great idea of starting your own Alaskan group. If there's anyway that you can make it to Dragon*Con in Atlanta in September, check the links in my signature. We're forming the 76th Battalion to march in the parade at D*C.

Anyway welcome to FFF.net. We are a friendly group. If you ever have any questions, just get on the Cortex and send us a wave. There's always someone around.

THUDERINSKI

Hey there. I am going to visit afriend in Anchorage for a week starting 12-30. It's wierd, because I just happened to get on this site and was wondering if there were any Alaska Firefly fans. I may be moving out there in a couple of months. It's good to know there'e a fellow fly fan there. Have a good New Year.

Well ain't that something? More Alaskan Browncoats! I don't see why there aren't more in the state when we're a few more government regulations away from breaking off and forming the United State of Alaskia!

Anchorage eh?...Hmm..that's about a five hour trip away from where I am--Fairbanks. Mite purty little town, very little shopping and an equal number of bars and churches to satisfy most. Let me know if you ever take a trip up the highway!

Definitely a browncoat here.
Actually got hooked on the movie by accident, hanging out with an ex-girlfriend and a couple of her friends, and we rented Serenity. Then I went out, bought the DVD, and later picked up the Firefly series.
Now I think I've gotten royally hooked on the show. Can the world really live without Jayne?

NAVYSEILS

I am close friends with an alaskan browncoat. I personally turned her into a browncoat only last year. One small problem though, she lives in Glasgow, Scotland. If she ever goes back to Alaska for good, I'll be sure to let her know some folks are looking for fellow firefly fans.

Hi, I'm new on this board, but I've been a browncoat from the beginning. I'm also living in Fairbanks, AK. Any fan groups formed yet in this area?

Wahoooooo,

Hiya. I too am an Alaskan browncat from Fairbanks. At one time there was some club in Anchorage I believe that would chat online but it has been quite some time since they got together.

I've been a fan since the show first aired. I have 2 copies of the Firefly series; 1 for my private viewing, and 1 for recruiting I also have 2 copies of Serenity for the very same reason. I am proud to say I have converted many in both Anchorage and Fairbanks.

Glad to know there are others out there.
