I'm in the final stages of planning so this is what I can confirm so far.

The cinema is booked for Satruday 16th June for approx 10 am in the Cineworld on Parnell St.

No details on the price of tickets just yet.

In the mean time, I now have a dedicated e-mail for the screening so if you are interested please e-mail me at dublin.serenityscreening@gmail.com with your name (both screen and real) and the number of tickets you would want so I can start seeing how much interest there is.

I'm hoping to do a raffle on the day and maybe having a few t-shirts for sale. All profits going to Equality Now of course.

Also maybe somewhere for a shindig afterwards but more details on that later.

Please remember: "SERENITY" was certified as a "15" certificate and by the terms and conditions of exhibition licencing, no child under the age of 15 can be admitted; if you have any queries regarding this, please e-mail me.

Ok folks tickets are now on sale.

Tickets are €20 and as previously stated the venue is the Cineworld on Parnell St. on 16th June. Film starts at 10.30 but I'm asking people to arrive early to accomadate the running of the raffle. The Doors open at 10 am.

There will be an after screening shindig but places are limited so when you are booking your ticket, please indicate if you will be attending the shindig. There'll be a few eats and a place to chat and meet some new browncoats.

Tickets will be charged in advance.

You can pay via Paypal. The paypal account for tickets is dublin.serenityscreening@gmail.com Please put the name and address you'd like tickets sent to in the notes section of the payment page and mark the payment as service. If you wish to pay by cheque/postal order or Cash please email the screening address and I'll get back to you with details.

I'll also some bring tickets with me to the next shindig if anyone wants to get them there.

Hello Everyone,

A new Serenity Screening Update for you all.

A sincere Thank You to everyone who have booked tickets already and ordered their t-shirts.

We have quite a few nice raffle prizes lined up and we'll have a few extra t-shirts on sale on the day. Also don't forget about the Serenity Soundtrack signed by Joss Whedon which is going up for auction on the day.

For anyone who has been wondering why Equality Now is the charity to benefit from these screenings, I highly recommend reading Joss Whedon's recent post on Whedonesque .

http://whedonesque.com/comments/13271#more

Ok so I have a few decisions to make this week. We are currently booked into Screen 1 in Cineworld which holds 158. However I haven't sold anywhere near that amount. If we don't sell enough we will be moved to a smaller screen holding 95. If you haven't yet booked your tickets or if you know someone who wanted to come but hasn't yet contacted me about tickets - Now is the time.

Hope to hear from you all soon

Almar

Just an update for everyone.

Tickets for the post screening shindig have now sold out. Apologies if you missed out.

There are still plenty of tickets left for the screening.

A word of caution, tickets will not be available at the door on the day. They must be bought in advance.

We have a few extra T-Shirts which will be available for sale on the day, but they are extremely limited so if you want one, make sure you turn up nice and early.

Again, don't forget your money for the raffle tickets and the auction.

Good Morning Everyone.

Hope you are well and looking forward to the 16th June.

Once again a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the event and Equality Now.

80% of the tickets have now sold.

If you are hoping to come to the event, now is your last chance to get tickets as you will have to give me time to post the tickets or meet you if you want to pay cash.

Tickets will not be available to buy or collect on the day. There will just be too many other things to do on the day and I'm gonna be stressed enough as it is. :)

To those of you lucky sods who bought your tickets early and received a shindig ticket:
If you are unable to attend the shindig, please let me know so I can give your shindig ticket to someone else. I have a waiting list of people who whould like to go.

Also Can I just remind everyone as well, that I have a record of all the ticket numbers and the names of those who bought the tickets. If the names don't match the numbers when you arrive, you won't get in. If you can't make it, you need to e-mail me.

Again don't forget your wallets on the day for the auction, raffle, t-shirts.

Looking forward to seeing you all.

Stay Shiny

Almar

P.S. If you haven’t yet received your tickets, please let me know.

It went great. I just got in the door. We had a fantastic time. Sold way more raffle tickets then we thought. T-shirts sold out and auction items sold for quite a decent amount. Loads of fun. Met loads of new browncoats and hopefully they come to lots of more shindigs. Havn't counted up everything yet but I will post the final tally for Equality Now tomorrow when I am sober.

We had an almost full house. In the end we sold 154 out of 158 tickets.

Pre screening was busy with T-shirt Sales and Raffle Ticket Sales which better than I could have hoped for. T-Shirts sold out fast and raffle sales went swimmingly with one report of someone spending €60 on tickets. Thats approx $80.

I think in all the organising and panic before hand I had completely forgotten that I would get to see the movie myself. Seeing it back on the big screen was just beautiful. And I have no other words for it than that. There may have been tears.

After the movie I thanked all our sponsors and volunteers and my voice froze up a bit. I hate public speaking but that was the only thing to go wrong all day.

The auction was next which was loads of fun. A Christina Hendricks signed photo and a Joss Whedon signed soundtrack that had been donated sparked the biggest bidding wars.

Raffle was next which was again loads of fun. Some light hearted heckling and banter and then it was all over. A Last Thank You and then it was time to head to the shindig.

About half the cinema audience came to the shindig and our venue looked after us exceedingly well. Food was yummy. Mingled with all the new people. Pimped our shindigs so hopefully we will have some more people at the next few ones.

As the crowed started to thin out, we decided to move on. After a slightly tipsy detour to a toy shop (don't ask) we stopped at another pub for a few drinks and then we went for dinner at the best chinese restaurant I have ever eaten in.

One last pub after that and the long day was starting to hit people and it was home to bed.

I had an absolute blast.

Thanks to everyone who helped on the day. You all know who you are.

And so lastly what you all want to know. The final amount raised for Equality Now from Dublin is €3,247.96 which is approx US$4,329.14

Sadly, me and friend were just on the verge of getting tickets and I had to miss the screening due to a family tragedy. I'd be well up for coming to the next Dublin Shindig though - keep us posted!
