So thats 7 so far, 3 of which are in the Manchester area, (which also meets RUSALKI99's preference for a northern venue)..may I suggest this could be the ideal place for such an event..?! [/QUO TE]And Im in warrington so that suits me too.

Quote:Originally posted by Lemming: Further to my earlier reply, as well as the Bristol CSTS in September, there are now 2 more official CSTS screenings at Warwick (which I went to last year, was much fun) and a new one at Nottingham University, run by the SF&F Society. There are always rumours of a London one, but nothing solid so far this year AFAIK. Similarly for Oxford and Leicester. The Oxford shindigs have kinda faded a bit, which is a shame, but the Browncoats are there. Good to see some folk here too :-) I'm certainly planning on attending the Warwick one again this year (4th July) with the shindig to follow at a nice bar in town (complete with Firefly Cocktails!) Quote:Originally posted by Eithil: Looks like someone's beaten me to advertising our CSTS showing here! I'm Eithil, and I'm in charge of Nottingham's Can't Stop The Serenity event this year. It's on the 16th of June, which is indeed a Tuesday, but it's not just for students - it starts at 6.30pm so hopefully even people with jobs will be able to make it. (Unfortunately we didn't have much choice with the date - the uni term ends on Friday 19th June, so any later than that and we'd lose half the students, but too much earlier and we'd risk not receiving our raffle shinies from CSTS Global in time!) So, 16th June, 6.30pm, and tickets cost £5 - you can buy them on the door, and we're hoping to also add a paypal button to our website so you can buy them online beforehand if you prefer. It's being held in room A48 of the Sir Clive Granger building on the Nottingham University main campus - if you check our website, there's maps showing you where it is, and we'll have people and/or signs up on the day to help direct you. Even better, there's a car park right next to the building which is completely free to park in from 5pm onwards! We'll be selling drinks, sweets and badges at the door too, and there'll be a raffle for lots of shiny Serenity-themed prizes. I think that's just about everything (last time I tried posting somewhere about this, I forgot to mention the date - d'oh!) - if you have any questions, feel free to email me or just post here. Our website is www.su-web2.nottingham.ac.uk/~scifi/csts.php
