Coming in from a related thread about the next Chinese new year: ( http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=8441)
, reading the *very* cool fannon about Earth-that-was (where is it now, can't find it?! help?), and this reference for FF timeline: ( http://www.fireflyfans.net/referencelist.asp?s=timeline) -- I gots'ta wondering, considering that the FF'verse is heavily Chinese influenced and that this bit of culture may be common knowledge to them -- what are the zodiacal signs of the crew?

The above thread extrapolates the birth-year of the character based upon the actor's birth date, which is fine -- except, I have a really hard time jiving the notion of Jayne's character as 13 years older than Zoe! I'm talking *character* here. And, there isn't any listing of River or Inarra.
As listed, born: 2460-Book, 2477-Jayne, 2484-Zoe, 2486-Wash, 2486-Mal, 2490-Simon, 2497-Kaylee.

Anyway, in the interest of a possible future Chinese New Year fanfic (a la, "Christmas fic"),
does anyone have any further input before I try to extrapolate thier zodiacal signs? (i.e., do you think that I should work off of character personalities instead?).

I thought I found somewhere that Morena was 25 (1979) and Summer was 23 (1981), but I think River was supposed to be in her late teens, younger than Kaylee at any rate and Jewel is 22.

Kaylee: Wash, tell me I'm pretty
Wash: Were I unwed I would take you in a manly fashion
Kaylee: 'Cause I'm pretty?
Wash: 'Cause you're pretty
