Hello Jewel! My husband and I saw you at DragonCon in ATL last year, and wondered, since you watch this site, if you or any of the other BDH's will be there this year? We would love for all of you to show up, and bring Joss along in your suitcase as well!

Let anyone who agrees with me chime in!

Apologies if this has been posted before - I didn't see it, but my eyes are numb from looking at car rental sites. I came to FFN for a rest!

I attended D*C last year as well, and relly enjoyed meeting the 3 BDHs that attended. At the end of the con the talk seemed to be that the organizers were so pleased with the response to the Firefly panels that they wanted to get all 9 cast members and Joss to come in this year.
I think it would be great to have them all join us back in the SE of the US. Great timing for promoting the BDM as well. I hope they all attend. As of yet no confirmations from any of them at the Dragon*Con website. Hopefully some news soon. I'll be going anyway, Hope to see all you Browncoats there.

How can she not come back? Seriously, I was thinking it was a given that Jewel, Nathan and Adam all would come back, and bring the rest of the crew with 'em. The timing couldn't be more perfet.

I am planning on being there for my second year. I met Jewel and her husband and got her autograph on the Kaylee postcard and she posed for a picture. It was a really cool experience. I really hope to see them this year. I will try to go more than one nite also.

How much does it tend to cost to get autographs at a Con?

Prohibition will work great injury to the cause of temperance. It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A Prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded.

I hope she does the radio theater thing again as well. It was neat seeing her perform in a speaking role.

I didn't get her autograph but I did bump into her and Nathan outside the dealers room and got pictures with both of them, super nice people!

I attended DC last year and have my tickets already for this year! Adam, Nathan and Jewel seemed to enjoy the fans and the DC organizers finally realized the popularity of our BDHs and will hoepfully be inviting the whole cast and Joss. It wouldn't hurt for all of us to contact the DragonCon folks to let them know we want to see the BDHs this year. www.dragoncon.org.

Last year was my first time at DragonCon and I was a volunteer. I worked in the dealer room, which as you know, is a part of the Walk of Fame. At that point, I and never seen Firefly but I was a huge fan of Buffy and Angel. I did not understand what the big deal was about Firefly. But, one night at the con someone played the unaired episodes on the in-house cable system and I became hooked. As soon as I got home I bought the series on dvd and that was it! Since then my family and I have gotten 3 other people to buy the dvd.

I am now kicking myself for not going to the panels, which I heard were awesome, or partipating in the various Firefly discussions. But I did get to interact several times with the actors and I was very impressed with how nice they were. In fact Thursday night I sat right next to Jewel while having a drink at the bar. I didn't know about Firefly at the time.

We have already purchased our tickets for this year and have our hotel room booked and standing by! I hope the cast and crew of Serenity comes and joins the fun. It would be a great place to preview the movie as the con takes place Sept. 2-5. Well one can wish.

Buck Rogers wanted $20 for a signed pic as did most of the folks in the 'walk of fame' room. I saw Jewel after the panel near the Browncoat table and chatted with her and asked her to sign the postcard they were giving out at the table. I carried that card around the whole day, glad I had it. I also had a couple Sharpies with me too! She and her husband(I am terrible with names) were extremely nice. I am afraid I was really nervous and probably showed. I also saw Adam Baldwin at the elevators but he looked like he was in a hurry and I didn't say anything that would draw attention to him. Erin Gray was also hanging around the BDH's.

I missed getting the cheap tickets for this year, but I will get them soon!

It was Friday nite, and I thought she looked really good. I might not have recognized her if I had not seen her with Gil Gerard in the autograph room. I have a crappy pic of her that a friend sent me that I can post. I am not sure if taking pics in the autograph room was allowed so I didn't take any and some guy walked in front of me when I tried to snap one near the table. I kept to myself pretty much, I'm kinda shy.

Some of the actors don't allow photos in the dealer/autograph room at DragonCon but our BDHs were not one of them. Check out the Blue Sun Room, many of us posted our DC 04 photos with the BDHs at the table!

Bump!

I hope Jewel gets a chance to see & respond to this.

I was at Dragon Con in 2004 too, and I had a real blast. Got to meet Jewel, Nathan and Adam, talk to each, get pics, autographs and all. They were so nice, approachable, and just the best gorram cast a Browncoat could ask for. The panels were packed and I had a great time listening to the three BDHs talk about the show, their favorite moments, and the movie.

I am really hoping that the entire cast, or at least most of them, can attend Dragon Con this year. As was said above, with the BDM due out the end of the same month, Dragon Con would be the perfect place for a huge push to fill theatres.

Keepin' my fingers crossed that you and Matty can make it Jewel.

I just checked the DragonCon site again and still no confirmations. Hopefully the proximity of the con to the release of the BDM doesn't prevent them them from attending. Seems to me it would encourage attendence, but who knows how many premires etc. they have planned. Hopefully we'll see them all there.

Remember Browncoats, the more we CONTACT DragonCon, not just check the website, the more DragonCon will KNOW we want our BDH's there. They may have already contacted them but it doesn't hurt to call and at least thank the DragonCon staff for inviting our BDHs.

That was my concern too Jadehand, that the proximity of the BDM premiere might interfere w/ the cast attending Dragon Con.

I do agree that attending a Con as huge as Dragon Con seems like an excellent venue in which to make that last minute push for the BDM.

Too true Fireflygal!

I encourage everyone to contact Dragon Con and ask if any of the cast has been approached about attending, and if so, who. The more we ask, the more interest there is and the harder DC will work to book the cast.

My wife and I go every year and have a great time. Last year was the best Con for me as Nathan, Adam and Jewel were there and I got to meet more than twenty Browncoats from the various boards I post on. The Firefly presence last year was unbelievable.

Look forward to meeting you this year.

Hiya

I would LOVE to go back to DragonCon. We had a total blast there. I've talked to my manager who says he's spoken to the DragonCon people, and they're just working out details (?) apparently. I don't think I'm a "for sure" yet, but you guys contacting the DC staff is probably the best way to get me, and some more of us, over there.

So glad those of you who attended last year had as much fun as I had. Hope to see you there.

Hey Jewel! (waves)

Glad you saw this thread and had the time to post.

I remember you saying you had a great time at Dragon Con last year and had hoped you would make it again this year. The Con just wouldn't be as much fun if you did not attend. Hopefully Matt will not come down sick again. His birthday is the 4th of Sept if I remember correctly, which is the same day as my wife, which means it falls on the Sunday of Dragon Con this year. Could be a cause for a celebration.

I hope your manager can get the details worked out as all us Browncoats would surely love to see you and Matt again. Somebody needs to keep Nathan in line, right?

As far as us contacting the Dragon Staff, consider it done. If there is one thing we can do it is campaign to get our favorite cast in the 'Verse at a Con.

Looking forward to seeing you again in September. Take care.
