As any Trekker worth their salt knows, today--April 5th--is First Contact Day.

"First Contact Day is celebrated throughout the United Federation of Planets to commemorate the first official contact between humans and an extraterrestrial race which took place on April 5th, 2063."

I always had to laugh at the movie when the meeting place was labeled as being in the Little Belt mountains (where I have been going Christmas tree hunting and picnicing and snowmobiling my entire life), and it obviously wasn't. Still, nice to at least have the name recognition.
