Important people don't do field work.

Is it me? I mean, it probably is, but is waiting for Serenity a lot like when you were a kid and waiting for your parents to get up on Saturday morning, or Christmas for that matter?

I love the anticipation, but I want my movie. So, like our parents, we poke it, whisper to it, shove it. But, it never seems to get up any faster, does it?

Damn it! I want cartoons, breakfast, and presents! Wake up Serenity!

I mean, there have been movies I waited for before, but nothing like this. Nothing that had a fan base this friendly, or so much mystery surrounding it. It because we were given such a nice glimpse into this 'verse. And that makes the anticipation of the killing kind!

So, I will stand in my footy pajamas, and keep gently pushing Serenity until it wakes up, distributing candy and presents for all!

And, unlike my childhood, I don't want an orange in my stocking (thanks a lot, grandma!)

Kaylee: "What's so damn important about being proper? It don't mean nothing out here in the black."
Simon: "It means more out here. It's all I have..."

*patiently waits for Serenity to roll over and swat semi-consciously at Pez' head, hoping he'll go away*

Toss a glass of water at it. That always worked for me.

Waitin' for Serenity is hardern' than when I waited for The Empire Strikes Back.

I think that says it.

MALICIOUS

My (very real) fear is that the Big Damn Day will arrive, excitement will abound and I will be sitting in the first row, sobbing my eyes out because I'll be so stinkin' happy and people will yell at me to stop sobbing SO LOUD and (here is the fear part, for those of you who have been waiting patiently for my actual point) I WON'T BE ABLE TO STOP SOBBING! How will I ever get my fellow 'coats to forgive me sobbing all over the first half-hour of the BDM??

I apologize in advance, everyone.

Mal-licious

I think I will add cursing and the hurling about of things to my repertoire.

I'm looking forward to getting the posse together and Firefly stylin' down to wherever it is shown.
And then chilling back!

Anyone who wants to join the Glasgow Serenity Posse then drop a line and we can all go together.

There's a not-so-special level in hell reserved for people sob loudly at the theatre.

Please say "Glasgow, Delaware" and not "Glasgow, Scotland" and I'll be there.

EMBERS

I feel the same way (not that I'll be crying),
but that I'll just sit there so stunned and excited I won't even be able to follow the plot.
Maybe I'll have to make arrangements to just buy tickets for the second show, as well as the first,
so I can stay in my seat and watch it a second time!

(I am sooo excited!)

but please whatever you do,
do NOT throw a glass of water on the sleeping Serenity!
My parents always threatened to cancel Christmas and/or Easter morning if we were naughty,
and that sounds like the kind of behavior that would make Serenity say
"you've been very bad, no candy or gifts for you!"

Way back before you were probably born, in 1980, that's what my friends and I did for The Empire Strikes Back, we saw it twice in a row!
I could never do that today. I'll just see Serenity twice a week as long as it's out.

If Lish sobs enough, the glass of water won't be necessary.
