Very true Fray101, the con-force is strong with you!

Not sure if anyone will notice this thread but the other one is long already - madness

Oh dear, this thread title is going to haunt me for another 6 months, isn't it, maybe?

Does anyone know what proportion of dedicated BSG fans are going? I'm not knocking the show but the more Firefly/Serenity content, the better. I'd particularly like a few of the movie stars (Chiwetel Ejiofor comes to mind) to discuss it with us. Although if the girl who plays Starbuck came along, that wouldn't be all bad. Although Dirk Benedict would be best.

I think if us Firefly fans get in quick then Sean will probably angle it heavily towards us.

Well there are currently no announced guests for BSG soo... probably not a whole lot of them going as of now?

I am hoping Sean gives up with the BG aspect BUT he is a canny lad and may bring one or two guests along in order to try and convert people to the new BG. Now Buffy and Angel cannot support cons very easily he is going to need to replace those with something else - Firefly can only go so far.

He often has overlap in his cons to try and encourage a broader audience as well as encourage people to attend later cons they might not necessarily go to - this is how Starfury gets such a loyal attendee group.

Personally though I would rather the money for guests go to more BDH!

I commented in the other thread that I was curious (worried?) how much Battlestar Galactica there would be in comparison with Firefly.

But...Dirk Benedict was the love of my teenage life (along with Jason from Battle of the Planets!) so all would be forgiven if he came...

Guess all be revealed soon enough.

Amen.

Considering the film comes out a month before, BSG might not get much of a look-in. And that could be quite embarrassing. I dunno!

I don't know really... Sean says he has asked 2 BSG guests so far, but is waiting for replies.

Sean also said he will have to wait for more ticket sales before he confirms anymore that four guests. And with 1/3 already sold and sales continuing on Wednesday..hopefully they'll go out like hot cakes!

And he has said that there will be a Sean/Summer photoshoot.

Oh so shiny!

He also said, if Jewel goes, there will be a Sean/Jewel photoshoot.

So it looks like we can expect more FF guests.

David Krumholtz would also be great BDM guest. As for BG guests it said on flyers at Serinity that it would be BG'04, so the chance for any of the female stars of the mini-series and series would be much greater.

Presumably they'll announce the first confirmed guests when the tickets go on sale on Wednesday?

And - also presumably - those guests will be the few we already know about?

OK, convince me....

As I live pretty close to the hotel I figured I'd just stay Friday & Saturday night and head home Sunday evening.

Am planning to book the hotel tomorrow (you know, just as soon as I've actually got a ticket!) so I just need to know one thing - how stupid would I be to miss the final evening's party? Are most people staying until Monday?

At the risk of being pounced on, I think you can live without the final party. Sure it's fun and it's got a great atmosphere - and the closing ceremony has an even better atmosphere before the party - it's not the be-all and end-all of the weekend...

ETA. That said I'm staying till Monday... because I'm scared of missing something, LMAO! Yeah, hypocritical, I know

Oh PsychicRiver, did nobody warn you about the post-con-blues?

Pretty weird experience, for many people who go to cons the first day/week/fortnight afterwards is pretty miserable because a wonderful bubble of love has burst.

Oh, and, Fray101, the final party is a must - it was the best one this time and that is pretty common. If this is your first con, stewarding is definitely the way to go - it is a fab way to meet people if you are a virgin!

According to Sean Harry, two thirds of the tickets have already been sold. I was gonna wait a couple of months to have a better idea of what my situation will be like in November but I may just have to book a ticket tomorrow.

Also, just wanted to ask if anyone has been charged for the first Serenity con tickets? My card hasn't been debited yet and was just wondering whether this is the same for everyone.

And yet there's still no specific details on the website! Anyone know how many tickets go on sale altogether? Presumably a fair number of them went at the last con?

Most of those ticket sales happened at the first Serenity con. My card was debited about a week after I booked my ticket for Serenity...so were talking back in December here...maybe you've slipped under the radar?

woah, this is gonna be a good one!

The tickets at the Thistle usually stop at about 800 but at the Radisson they can go up to about 1500 I think (I think Andy will know, I think he was chief steward for Sector 14 which ran a couple of cons there). Maybe that is why it is at the Radisson - Sean can get more people going.

If he is opting for more it will be a VERY different but equally amazing con to the mid-size ones like Serenity.

6 months, this is tooooooo much

Personally I would prefer it to smaller - a better atmosphere that way. 1500 would be too many people, IMO, to support such a friendly atmosphere. It'd increase anonymity.
