Hi,

I know there are a couple people who have longer sound bytes from the show that are available, which is great. But I was wondering if anybody had put together a batch of short sounds that can be used with Windows and IMs for alerts? I just think it'd be fun.

I've been meaning to do that for months now. Sometime within the next several days I'll try to get that project going.

I would think wav would work with the most systems, right? I know typically the standard sound effects are wav files.

I've used all my favourite lines in my windows sound scheme alerts. Like Books line "Well.. is'nt that special" and Mals "OK.. Looking good" etc.

Have to admit I like your idea though, the quotes are a little long for alerts.

Project "BDH on my 'puter" is currently in progress! I've got audio from episode 1 in its entirety on my computer. Now I just have to cut it up.

I figure I'll have this thing done in a week or so. (We'll have shiny little sound bites from ALL episodes)

Audible alerts are a function of the operating system. You can customize alerts with .wav files in Windows. Windows recognizes a special subset of alerts for AOL_US, which means you can have a different You've Got Mail sound for AOL mail than for Gmail, for example, though you'll get the same sound for Gmail as for hotmail, etc. Don't know about other OSs.

BOVINITY

I've got audio captured from all the episodes, and about 210 short clips from "Objects in Space". Now all I have to do is find a place to post them.

This project is taking a bit longer than I anticipated. I'm going to hope for one episode per week, minimum. I'll find a place to put all these sounds, and post here each time I upload another set of them.
