i DO aim to misbehave

Since we've got a couple newbies, thought I'd start with this.

I was watching Star Wars IV: A New Hope again last night, seeing what sort of perceptions I pick up now, having seen the first three episodes

**NO SPOILERS**

Just before the big Death Star battle, Artoo is being lowered into Luke's X-wing. I believe Luke asks the little droid if everything is okay.

Now, anyone who has watched Star Wars enough times can start to pick up on Artoo's syntax. Like, being able to tell when he says Luke's name, asks questions and such. It's just something that happens to "sweeks" (Star Wars Geeks) over the course of time. I haven't heard any of them speak in "Droid" but I haven't really been completely immersed in "sweek-dom" either.

So, I may be delusional - because this was kind of late and I'd been breathing pastel dust and workable fixative fumes by this point - but the sounds Artoo made in response sounded like a very Kaylee-like, although rhythmic, "Shiny, A-okay."

G'head - call me crazy.

ZOID

Channain:

As I'm writing this, there's a picture in the upper left frame of Mal and Saffron's kiss from OMR (you know, when she's being particularly 'articulate'). Speaking of Firefly moments vis-a-vis Star Wars, I think Nathan Fillion makes a more believable kisser than Harrison Ford, who generally seems a little 'over-puckered'. I'd have certainly enjoyed kissing Fisher and Young (Blade Runner) more than he seemed to. But then again, I'm probably just not as gentlemanly as Mr. Ford.

Still, Nathan exhibits the kind of gusto -- being 'in the moment' -- that I can appreciate, when kissing the overtly soft-mouthed Christina Hendricks. ...Just saying, is all.

You and Knibblet enjoy the preview tonight! And be on the lookout for Nat 'The Tongue' Fillion's performance, should he kiss Inara in the flick. More believable than Han and Leia in TRotJ, or not?

Osculatingly,

zoid

America loves a winner!

Taking a step aside from the SW tone, I was listening to the radio today and the host was blathering about nothing in particular, untill I heard "Serenity now!". Clearly,it was intended as a 'Seinfeld' sort of moment, but it had a far different meaning for me. The Serenity screening being tonight, and all.

Shoot, now that you point it out. . . Artoo is a lot like Kaylee, personality-wise. Bit snarkier at times (but then Kaylee doesn't have to hang around Threepio all day, and Simon's nowhere near that uptight).

I would heartily agree. And if he ever does get that uptight, Kaylee should be the one to smack him.

We never have seen Kaylee stick her tongue out at anybody for anything, have we? She did give Mal the silent treatment in Shindig, though. And I do recall her going off and muttering under her breath about Mal... I think that was in the Serenity pilot...

Good Heavens! I have to go review the episodes AGAIN! Dang!
