There was some discussion about Bruce's show Brisco County Jr. on here a while ago under favorite westerns. So I thought it was appropriate to bring up Mr. Campbell again. He just put out a new book called Make Love* The Bruce Campbell Way. Anyway I went to a signing tonight in Philly and met the man in person. Really nice guy by the way. I wanted to see if anyone else went to it or is planning to go to one because I think he's hitting pretty much every city in the nation this summer. Bruce is the man and his book is very funny so if you're near a bookstore buy a copy, or five, and read them simultaneously.

I'm a huge fan myself, and was really excited when I saw that he had another book coming out. I read If Chins Could Kill, and the man is absolutely hilarious. This one is next on my "to buy" list

I will try. I need to pick it up. "If Chins Could Kill" was great and the documentary he did on fans was great. Can't wait to pick this up!

Side note was Brisco County, Jr. listed in the Family Guy list of cancelled shows on Fox? I know Firefly was.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Bruce Campbell is ruttin' cool as the special Hell. I met him at a book signing for his 1st book "If Chins Could Kill". Actually I met him after the signing as I arrived late due to a traffic accident that backed up traffic. I arrived like thirty minutes after he left but the manager of the bookstore told me he had gone across the street to grab a bite to eat at a place she had recommended to him.

So, I go across the street to this restuarant and find him at his table. I feel like such a heel walking up to this guy and asking for his autograph while he is eating, but he saw me walking up w/ the book and says:

"You stalking me or looking for an autograph?"

I laughed and said I would like him to autograph my book. He looks me over and says:

"Sure, if you give me a good excuse on why you missed me at the store. Sit down."

A little stunned I sit down and tell him my story while he signs the book. He laughs and says anyone willing to sit in traffic in the summer heat just to get his autograph is a fan in his book.

He was really great about it. I have always liked his movies and miss Briscoe County Jr. Hopefully it will get released to DVD one day.

Now if we can just line him up to get a spot on the Serenity sequel.

Unfortunately, he's not coming anywhere near Montana. I have lent my copy of If Chins Could Kill to half the people I know and everyone has loved it. I can't wait to see what he does with a novel.

I'm with BC1. We really need to work on getting him in the sequel to Serenity.

Alas, I don't believe it was. It was one of the other shows beside Firefly that I was listening for when they did that (very long) list of cancelled F*X shows. Unless I missed it, it wasn't named. I think that may have been just because it was slightly older than the other shows on the list. Brisco was one of F*X's earlier casualties and may have been overlooked simply because of the many, many more recent victims.

The list of cancelled shows from Family Guy's 4th season opener was

"Well unfortunately Lois, there's just no more room on the schedule. We just gotta accept the fact that Fox has to make room for terrific new shows like Dark Angel, Titus, Undeclared, Action, That 80's Show, Wonderfalls, Fastlane, Andy Richter Controls the Universe, Skin, Girls Club, Cracking Up, The Pitts, Firefly, Get Real, Freaky Links, Wanda at Large, Costello, The Lone Gunmen, A Minute With Stan Hooper, Normal Ohio, Pasadena, Harsh Realm, Keen Eddie, The Street, American Embassy, Cedric the Entertainer, The Tick, Louie, and Greg the Bunny"

Wow, what a list (PR - thanks for that, by the way). About half of those shows, if they were still on now, would be the best of their particular genre.

Hmm. Y'know, we are kinda in the market for a new pilot.

Sure, he's no Wash, but he'd make an interesting addition. . .

TERRI

I looooove Bruce Campbell. Big fan. Loved him on Xena and Herc, and Jack of all Trades, of course Evil Dead, I'm looking at the poster right now. But, every movie he's in is awesome, even if he's only in it for five minutes. Except for the Man with the Screaming Brain which was horrific. But, you know, I watched it. So, yeah, if he made a guest apperance on Firefly that would be frickin' awesome. And he's kinda a media whore. I love the guy, but seriously, he'll do almost anything if you pay him enough.
