I really, really, really want to go to this. So much so that I'm willing to go to Los Angeles, which I despise with an unreasonable loathing.

Will have to see how much money I have left after I get back from Europe, though.

Gorramit, and it's before winter break for us teachers. I'm sure my wife would love to go down and at least visit her sister, but if it were only a week later!

Here in the UK, we will have a ticket for the Big Flanvention up for grabs in a raffle at the Memorabelia Shindig (this weekend 13th).

It`s along way to go, but some are already planning on making the trip - so say Hi to those from the UK when they turn up.

Honestly if most of the cast wasn't attending Dragon*Con I would so push for us to attend this one. But if I am heading to the West Coast it will be for the San Diego Comic Con.

The con rate is $99 per night. (4 night =$400) I know crazy..But it's best to stay at the hotel then a porn motel. (LOL) Plus, it increases the chance of elevator meeting (which ROCKt to the MAX)

It's all the way from the right coast to the left coast for me... but I think I just might do it!

(Added) YES!!! I'm going! Got my pass, got my plane tix and hotel res (at the site of the Flanvention no less). I'm going to the banquet Saturday too.

I'd like to go to see "Chronicles of Narnia: LLW" on Friday, Dec. 9 (opening day for that movie and for the Flanvention). Anyone care to join me?

The information for this seems to be a little vague.

Like does anyone know what exactly happens at each of these sceduled events each day?

And it looks like there are a couple of things that aren't even for sale.. that they are going to be auctioned off on ebay. The one looks like it is a photo op with the entire cast.. I can understand that one. But the other is some type of Sunday brunch with a limit of only 20 people. Does anyone know the details of what that is? And when will they be auctioning that off.. or have they already?

It's not that far away.. I would think they would have more details by now..

I would love to goto this. But $235 is a bit much for me. And sadly I couldn't get the time off from work. Why don't they through one in Vegas. Its the perfect place.

I will be going to the LA Wizard World in March though. So hopefully some of the cast will be their.

Take me out, to the black, tell them I ain't coming back.

Dennis Christopher will be at the FLANVENTION!!

Immediately following Dennis Christopher's appearance at the Angel Booster Bash, we received numerous requests to invite him to the Big Damned Flanvention. He is an honored and respected member of the extended Whedonverse family, and we are deeply grateful he accepted our invitation. Dennis will be at the Banquet and the Cocktail Party, take part in a Q & A, and sign autographs for the attendees.

SMAUG - I checked with Vicki at boosterevent.com and here are some answers to your questions:

Con schedules are not normally posted until very close to the event. Since things can change so rapidly- and things can be added- it's not usually done until last minute. The cast photo ops are strictly for charity and very limited, so that's why they will be on eBay. The Sunday luncheon is also very limited- only 20 con attendees. They will be listed on eBay.

I hope this helps...

So, I've never been to one of these things, but there's a distinct possibility I'll attend this one. It's on the wrong coast; but there's some new-fangled flying machines that should get me there pretty quick. Anyways, eh, is there food at these conventions? I mean, for $300 bucks, there's damn well better be food. And are they, like, all day for the days that they occur? Like, when will people arrive on Friday, and when will they leave on Sunday? And, do you think it'd be cool if I slept outside on a bench? 'Cause $200 bucks, just for a bed...damn. Lastly, eh, is Sunday really worth it? Would I be missing out if I left Saturday night?

I can't speak for the US, but in the UK you have to pay for your own food, but you DONT have to pay for the parties (and not a hundred pounds!!!!!!!!)... but then again in the UK, convention tickets are £70.

For the price of the convention, I'd advise you to stay and get your money out of it, or you'll be paying over a hundred dollars a day for just autographs and talks.

$235 bucks for a couple days in "their" presence.

What are they they? gods?

Betcha (even with inflation factored in) nobody ever shelled out that kind of money to see Shatner, Nimoy, and Kelly (and crew) back in the days.

You do have to pay for food, if you dont go to the special events (that cost a fortune) that feed you. And yeah, I agree, the beds are crazy expensive.
