I started a new one because the old one was taking too long to load up!

Okay so today was a busy day! I stopped at Ri-Ra's (where we plan to go for after movie partying) and spoke to the manager. His name is Greg Batchelor and he is very excited about the party. Ri-Ra's will let us order food all night and we will have our very own drink special! Normally they stop serving food at 9:30pm. Oh and Lissa they usually do not allow people under 21 but they will make an exception for YOU and maybe one or two others. Friday night is always crowded but he didn't bat an eye at the number of people coming! I plan to hear more from him tomorrow on several other little things. By the way they also are a restaurant so if some people want we can get there before the movie and have dinner.

Next I went to the Best Western that we will be staying at and had a chat with the manager there. I am sorry but I forgot her name but she was super nice! She new exactly who I was AND what group I represented.

Sorry to say the pool will NOT be open past 9:00PM. You can wave those bikini's around but it won't do a lick of good. Now as long as we are respectful to the guests and good little Browncoats we have been given permission to use the dining and meeting rooms to gather and hang out! Free!

Wow that was a very long post for me! LOL.

I reserved my room today and have a friend in Raleigh to meet up with, too.

I apologize for asking as I did post on the yahoo group but what time are we to see the movie? Is it just Friday or Saturday too? Just curious because some friends wouldn't be able to come down until Saturday but didn't know if the party would be over by then. Thanks for the help and if it has been answered on the yahoo group then I apologize and you can ignore this question :)

We plan to see the movie several times over the weekend. Right now I think the general pick is the 7PM showing. With Ri-Ra's to follow. I know that some people won't be coming in til later but they will be coming to the party that night.

On Saturday some people are going to a Renaissance Fair. The rest of us plan to go do local activities like museums and putt-putt. I called the local putt-putt/lazer tag/go-cart/arcade place in town and they would be willing to set up something for a party this size.

Mostly I think we will be playing in the pool and going to see Serenity over and over and over again. Maybe doing a Firefly dvd viewing party too. Who knows.

More info to come once DragonCon is over.

Ash-we cannot sing your praises enough. You're doing a fantastic job!

I don't know if there's anything I can help with, but I'm going to be going to the Renn Faire on Saturday.

I believe someone mentioned at some point in the past about the possibility of getting discount tickets. Has anyone heard anything about that?

Also, I had the thought that if enough of us are going, we may be able to get a group discount. I don't mind looking into that, if enough people let me know they want to come. We'd have to have at least 10 people for that to work. So..if you want to go to the Renn Faire on Saturday, and you want to get a discount, why don't you let me know? Sound good?

Heya!

I asked Static about the faire a week or so ago and he didn't have any new information at that time.

website for the faire is www.royalfaires.com but I having issues trying to get it up today.

Best I remember a group is 15 people+ and I think the admission is $14.50 per person -- however--- thats opening weekend and there's almost always a special rate like 2 people for $20.00 with a coupon. I sent them (the faire) an email a few days ago asking if that coupon will be running this year and when - haven't heard back yet.

If you want to preorder the food, I'd go with a variety of things: i.e. some spicy food, some mild, some veggies, some meat, etc. I'm sure the group will eat everything.

Most of your ren-festery tickets can be found at Harris-Teeter grocery stores. Don't ask me where the hell they are in Raliegh, I from different parts of NC. I'll try to get Static to post in here with official type stuff for theater information, time, format, etc.

Also, it's kinda last minute, but if anyone here is a regular on the movie board, post the hell out of this info there. There's a lot of crossover, but we're bound to find some people there that don't visit this site.

Yea I'm working on it. I am not the best at html but by the end of the weekend the site will be completely flush with information. Once I figure out how to incorporate all the info into the site. I have more stuff on the list of activites for Saturday etc.

I planed to have sheets at the hotel for people to sign-up for rides to the airport and for them to pick what activities they want to do on Saturday. If I can figure it out I will just post a poll on the website so people can vote right then for instant happiness!

Alright now that the con is over lets get planning! Please if you are not on the FireflyNC group tell us if you are coming and how many people you are bringing with you!!!! This way we can preorder the correct number of tickets, make sure you get a name badge, a hotel room, and/or swag! The more people that come the better the prizes are for the contests.

Speaking of contests, the main prize package for the costume contest is one(1) ticket to the movie, one(1) popcorn and/or candy, and.............a parasol autographed by none other than Jewel Staite!!!! I watched her sign the parasol myself!

I have other (equally as cool) prizes for the trivia contest and for other spontaneous contests. For example (sorry for the poor pic quality):
