How do you feel about spoilers? Do you read everything you can find about Serenity or do you stay away so everything will be a surprise?

For me spoilers are like candy, I shouldn't, but I do to some extent.

I don't avoid anything to do with the movie; I've wandered through all the pieces of the offical site for example. On the other hand, I don't go looking for the ending either. I haven't wandered over the the discussion for those that have seen the BDM, because I'm sure they are talking about stuff I don't want to know about until I see for myself.

So, it's a fine line for me in the end.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

If you have not seen Serenity yet, trust me, you do not want to be spoiled.

Okay people, from someone who has seen it, I'm going to add my 0.02c here.

DO NOT SPOIL YOURSELVES.

I cannot say it any clearer. The pay off will be well worth the frustration, trust us all on this.

You do not want to know what happens. You want to be left breathless.

Howdy.

Serenity is the one thing that I don't want spoiled. A co-worker accidentally let something slip in casual conversation, but it was more of a tease spoiler than a complete spoiler, so it really made me want to not hear anything else.

It's kind of funny really, because I am usually the first person to know what's going to be happening in the TV shows that I watch. I always found it cool to read about it first, then see it. I know that sounds weird, but being aware in advance has never bothered me, though I understand I'm in the minority on that one, so I always try to watch what I say around other fans. I guess the reason I dont mind is because I like the shows that I watch so much that I get real excited when I hear about all the cool stuff coming up in the next few episodes.

I set different levels of spoilerliness for different things. Lost, for example, I enjoy reading little tidbits about (the EW article was great), but never too much. I don't read 24 spoilers because the plot twists are so ridiculous yet predictable, and I like calling them beforehand (part of my friend and I's drinking game).

Serenity, thankfully, I was (almost) completely unspoiled for - save seeing the trailer. But that's one of the advantages of seeing the movie in one of the pre-screenings. Speaking in hindsight, I'm really glad I wasn't spoiled. Part of the fun is just entering the film on Joss's terms.

Do yourself a favor -

I love spoilers

I begged for insight from all those people that saw the film back in Feb or so in California

so when I first saw it in May I KNEW

but knowing was not seeing --WOW

I recently saw the film again at a press screening and OMG I still react to those scenes

Also, I can kill you with my brain.

I do not like spoilers. Plain and simple. I stay away from them. I will use holy water and crosses if I have to, to keep them away.

Spoilers are evil!

I am 100% AGAINST spoilers, and Joss agrees with me
(he takes it very seriously)
of course this is why I was so intent on getting to an Advanced Screening, so I would be spoiler proof and not be at the mercy of those who figure that it isn't important....

and Rivergirl, you don't get to vote three times!

FREMDFIRMA

Having been really burned on a few movies by bait-n-switch tactics where the trailer and advertisements deliberately gave a false impression of a movie to sell it....
(Black Moon Rising was the worst example)

I don't mind spoilers at all, I like to know what I am getting for my money, instead of paying for one thing, and getting something else.

After a restaurant charged you for filet mignon and handed you a cold cup of ramen noodles instead, wouldn't you be annoyed and mistrusting?

Besides, with Joss it isn't so much the story, as the story-TELLING, cause that man knows how to spin a tale and draw you right on in.

So no.. I dun mind spoilers, and can enjoy a movie just the same (or better) even if I already know the plot - cause it's how ya tell the story that really matters.

I'm a total spoiler "companion". If I could have found a script on line, I would have read it. And I was glad I did when I went to see the movie. I'd tell you why but that would be a spoiler!

I respect that other people don't like them so I'm very careful if I'm discussing something in a spoiler thread.
