A question for the masses.

if fox had continued its backing of Firefly and it went on for a few seasons as a successful show and joss then decided to follow in the footsteps of Buffy / Angel and create a spin-off series.

WHAT in your thoughts do ya reckon it would be? or what would ya like it to be?

can be anything ya like just be interesting to see what people would like to see.

Nisei: spin off idea

The adventures of jubal early: jubal early miraculously survives the wilderness of space and is picked up by a ship of religious folk where he finds his faith. he then goes on to hunt down and capture criminals and fugitives in on going series. kinda like Dog the Bounty Hunter in space.

I really liked your treatment, by the way. Although I was thinking of her as more the lone avenging type. Maybe more La Femme Nikita than Alias.

What if... hm.

WARNING: LATE NIGHT RAMBLING draft... I would like to clean this up, but I had to get my ideas down before they left me. I wonder what Joss would think if he read this... (there's a what if for me) :)

Reavers attacks are becoming more frequent, and morale is cracking within the alliance. More and more, rumors of a new independence movement are heard. Finally, war breaks out after a high profile assassination. The Browncoats reorganize. And the brass needs people they can trust...

Mal is torn between Serenity and the cause. A talk with Book convinces him he truly has no choice but to go back and fight, and gives everyone the fair chance to back out. Of course they stay (except Inara... see below). He's promoted to Captain now, in the official sense, but when offered a new ship, he laughs. Jayne and Zoe both think he's insane for not taking the offer, so to compromise, he makes the BCs modify the ship. Lo and Behold, we have Jayne the Weapons Officer. Wash is still piloting, making fun of the new shielding system -- and is VERY prideful of his new comfy chair. The doc's a BC medic now; and there's a new face onboard, a BC doc, a shrink(Kaylee and her don't get along very well) - she was a few years under Simon, and there's a wonderful love triangle here (and maybe an alliance spy?) She's there for River. Book's past has by this point been revealed, and whatever the fallout of that was finds him doing what he used to - but now for the cause of good. He and Mal have a new understanding (now that Mal has his cause -- and God -- back). Kaylee's of course still engineer (and has lots of new shiny toys to play with, as well as a grudge against Simon). River... well, I'm thinking special ops. Inara has since infilitrated the Alliance, and has regular communications with Mal (her "handler"); who is of course constantly worried about her.

I'm thinking the characters need to be roughed up a bit more, but I think my (horribly) rough outline above isn't TOO far from what could be done; this could be the series after the 3rd movie, which would end as a cliffhanger with the high profile assassination. (Hm... River was trained for that sort of stuff, wasn't she?)

Pilot Episode-- In an attempt to even out the playing field, the BCs order Mal and Serenity to steal Alliance laser technology.

ok so... it's after "Serenity" (the firefly movie),

with almost the same ship, a same firefly type ship with some serenity parts, but new crew and new bantor, new missions.

(thinking for more as i go, will post here, so please come back and look often. more details to come also about the crew, some type of story for them.) *edited*

Malcolm Reynolds and Inara Serra, spawn a child together, a female raised by both parents til they died in a crash of firefly into a moon on the reever side of the galaxy,

Sanyer (San for short) Serra Reynolds, heads towards her parents crashing place to gather information on weather it was just a crash or the reevers that assisted her parents to the other side. San battles through reevers only to find Serenity(1), only half intact, the hull is breached, San finds her parents bodies were picked apart by reevers, she grabs her fathers suspenders ties them around her waist as well as a a scrap of cloth from her mothers dress, shed's a single tear, then curses something under her breath. Gives her crew an order to rip apart the ship and salvage what could be salvaged, food rations, weapons, and ship parts.

San with the help of her crew pieces the Serenity parts on her firefly ship, and names it Serenity Mark 2(II).

Lots of space and land adventures, finding and killing the reevers, and of course jobs as her father.

with her crew at her side, and Serenity Mark II, she takes the missions as she can get them.

Okies, i likes that un...but maybe as a series muchhhhhh later on in the firefly timeline, i like the idea though m8, could you elaborate abit on the actual other crew, is river still alive?...i need river or equivalent damnit
