Quote:Originally posted by Shinygoodguy: Went to see it yesterday and had a great time. Actually if you liked the BDM, and who doesn't here, you'll like ST. Without giving too much away, many similarities in filming and storytelling style. My guess is that Abrams was paying homage to Serenity. That's a good thing since Joss stepped to the forefront with his unique take on how explosions and such were handled on screen. I have one small quibble though. In my mind it felt as though he used the "flare" shots a bit too much - like throughout the film. Am I being too picky, I could never tell? But it was funny, action-packed without compromising the character development. There was even a scene in which I expected Jayne to pop up and say "Hey, a tussle" What may have been ahead of it's time in 2005 (Joss' film style) has found it's way back to the big screen - which bodes well for us because it validates what we already know - Joss is a genius. The success of ST will, hopefully, pave the way for Serenity 2 BDM what with JJ's shout out to Joss and Serenity. Seriously, I was smiling pretty much throughout the first half of the movie (when you see it you'll know why). Thanks, JJ for the nod and a wink. You see Universal, you were right to take a chance on Joss. Now, about that Serenity 2 script.................. SGG Tawabawho?
