Is it my imagination or is the number for the Enterprise in the first video NCC1701A?

I saw a girl takin' her shirt off. WHOOT! The only problem was that she wasn't green and we all know Kirk only "dated" those weird alien gals that had tentecales or some odd shade of green.

I love Star Trek and this one looks pretty good. A turn form the old school but you need to lock in a new audience. It looks like fun!

I just think it is odd they would nuber the ship as NCC1701A from the get go.

I'm not sure wasn't the first Enterprise with no A. Next models start with letters.

Yes the original enterprise was NCC1701 and it became NCC1701A after Kirk destroyed the original Enterprise in "The Search for Spock."

The only ship number I saw was 1504. Or maybe it was 0504. I couldn't tell for sure even after the player stopped responding to my repeated pause rewind play pause requests. Edit: 0504 on a ship that is decidedly not the Enterprise.

I looked at the clip several times and now I see it is the USS Kelva. Sorry for seeing things wrongly and reporting it.

That's cool. They didn't provide the clearest picture and your assumption was a reasonable one. It did kinda look like **01A on first viewing.

Rallem, putting out disinformation is exactly what a Romulan agent would do.

Went to see it yesterday and had a great time. Actually if you liked the BDM, and who doesn't here, you'll like ST.

Without giving too much away, many similarities in filming and storytelling style. My guess is that Abrams was paying homage to Serenity. That's a good thing since Joss stepped to the forefront with his unique take on how explosions and such were handled on screen.

I have one small quibble though. In my mind it felt as though he used the "flare" shots a bit too much - like throughout the film. Am I being too picky, I could never tell? But it was funny, action-packed without compromising the character development. There was even a scene in which I expected Jayne to pop up and say "Hey, a tussle"

What may have been ahead of it's time in 2005 (Joss' film style) has found it's way back to the big screen - which bodes well for us because it validates what we already know - Joss is a genius.
The success of ST will, hopefully, pave the way for Serenity 2 BDM what with JJ's shout out to Joss and Serenity. Seriously, I was smiling pretty much throughout the first half of the movie (when you see it you'll know why).

Thanks, JJ for the nod and a wink.

You see Universal, you were right to take a chance on Joss. Now, about that Serenity 2 script..................

Nobody can save Terminator man...

And really... should they bother trying anymore?

Outside of Salvation, every movie in that franchise was a remake of the original movie. They were all virtually the same story.

T2 was such a vast improvement over the original, largely because of the mind-blowing CGI for the time and the hugely increased production budget, but also from better storytelling than the original. It is one of the rare examples of nearly everyone being in agreement that the sequel was better than the original.

But it was still the same story as the first movie, just like the last woke shitshow of a flick was.

I think they've said everything that needs to be said in the Terminator universe. And that's even more true when you unceremoniously kill off the central character and story arc of the entire premise and replace him with strong powerful female who is perfect and don't need no man. When they executed John Connor, they sucked the entire soul right out of the franchise. There's no coming back from that and there is no undo button.

And in the end, it wasn't even effective in properly instilling fear in people about what could happen if we keep marching right on down the technology rabbit hole. I don't know if it will lead to nuclear Armageddon, but we will find out now, won't we?

The Terminator is so mainstream and played out it might as well be Mickey Mouse in 2025.

Let's retire Terminator and make way for new Sci-Fi. I'm sure somebody can come up with an interesting replacement now that we're living in a much more technologically advanced world than we were living in when the first two good movies were made.
