It seems from everything I'm reading about Firefly being shown in Europe that everyone there loves it.

(Probably because it isn't being totally mishandled and shown in the correct order without constant pre-emptions and schedule snafus like it was by Fox here in the US...)

Is there a chance that a production company in the UK might pick up Firefly if it gets such good reviews over there or is that just a pipe dream??

Would Joss even consider something like that?

It is my understanding that Joss is totally up for continuing the series. If he can do it I think he will, but I think he would prefer to continue where he was.

Noone but Joss knows for sure, but if the actors were willing I would think he would at least consider it. I've heard multiple interviews with Mr. Whedon in which he talks about how much he loves England. If the offer and money came through for it in a practical way I think it would be tough to walk away from. Not that I expect that to happen, but dreams are good.

I don't know much about television production, but isn't it possible that the show could be produced here and aired there ala syndicated shows?

I suppose without a syndicate behind it, though, there'd be no real studios easily available.

Come to think of it, maybe it's not that likely, but it's nice to dream...

Does anyone know, what exactly are it's ratings in England and how different are they from the show's U.S. ratings ?

If FF were to start getting produced in England.

(With no 'offence' to our Limey brethren.)

Core Worlds will start looking suspiciously like London.

Border Worlds will start looking like the Scottish Highland.

Badger will turn out to be a high-ranking Alliance official all this time.

And we won't care 'cause it's back in production.

Go England!

There ain't nothin' I can't overcome or come to know. So lay your heavy load down on me, strip everything I have away. I am not your prisoner, I am not afraid.

The UK is a lot smaller than the US, so the budget would have to be much much smaller, because fewer people would see the series on its first airings.

Right now, I think Joss just wants to relax and produce "Angel." It seems as if he would rather make a "Firefly" movie than continue the series. If the series did continue, then BBC (or Sci-Fi UK) would be a good place, and "Firefly" would have a British second season of six episodes. However, seeing as how "Ripper" hasn't been made yet, a continuation of "Firefly," although possible, seems pretty unlikely.

From what I've read a) one of Joss' top priorities is the continuation of Firefly, b) he is not going to be as closely involved with Angel as one might think, he seems to be keeping it at arm's length and letting the Angel people do what they do.

Note that I say one of, not his top top priority.

Yeah, but he also said he would never do TV again. Not trying to be downer.
