Adding in myself brings the total to 5. I think that's a fair and representative sample. Don't you think too?

Bracebridge/Toronto. Not necessarily in that order.

You might want to google canadianbrowncoats.

I guess it depends on whether by "Canada" you mean "Ontario", or if you are going by the definition more generally accepted by the rest of the world. (Your subject line says "Canadian"; your posting says "Ontario".) Since you're from Ontario, you probably mean Ontario. Maybe this isn't the time or place to rob you of your ignor--sorry, your INNOcence, but Ontario is actually not all of Canada. I know this is like telling George Bush that America is not the only country on the planet, but if you look it up on a map, you will find it's true! In fact, if you look way over to the left, you will see that Vancouver (my signature) is, yes, part of Canada! Believe me, we don't like it any more than you do--but until Ontario fulfills its destiny by joining the US, yes, there must be tons of Canadian Browncoats. The movie review in the Vancouver area's main entertainment paper, for instance, was written by one.

(Well, other fans, I'm civil most of the time, but this whole Ontario=Canada really gets up our noses, here in what Ontarians fondly call The Rest of Canada.)

No worries. So, Manitoba. That's cool. Never been there. But then, I never get to go anywhere. Lots of Firefly fans there?

Edit: Vancouver, I'd have to agree with you. That whole Canadian Browncoats/ is there any from Ontario kinda ticked me off too. I didn't know if I'd be welcome, since I'm from The West, but I bumped anyway. It's what I do.

I give to you the Seeker of Serenity, the Valkyrie Warrior, the Gourmet Cook and the Truth Scoper.

It's flat and slightly hilly in places. Can't say you're missing much. But, then again, we probably all feel that way about where we grew up/live.

Don't know if I'd say a lot of fans, but I know a number and they know more, etc. So, we probably have our fair share.

No need to renounce, join the ranks of the dual citizens! It's great fun. Really pisses off the customs guys at the border.

And yeah.. there's something east of Ontario too.

Hehe. That reminds me of a joke I heard a comedian say. He said that Canada's bigger and on top, and if we were in prison, America would be our bitch.

No offense to the Americans, it's just funny. Also, Sigma, you aren't missing much here either. Though I like it, it's nothing special. There's a few fans here too.

We would be happy to have you. I agree with the posting about dual citizenship being better though: it's great fun crossing the border with Canadian i.d. showing American birth, and being questioned about why you "lost" your US status. They can't believe anything short of draft-dodging or committing a felony could make anyone voluntarily claim to be a Canadian when they could say they're American.

Gee, this has turned into quite the political thread, hey? There's hardly anything about Firefly, even. I guess I contributed to that with my snark at the original Ontario=Canada bit. (Thanks, other non-Ontarians, for affirming that your Canada includes...well, Canada. Remember during the last referendum, when all those people had signs saying "My Canada includes Florida"? That was my favourite part of that particular episode in Cdn history. I wonder if anyone has told Florida about that. "Um, hey, Jeb...")

But seriously, besides me, there's now my sister, her friend, my brother (just converted over the weekend, with a mere ONE episode viewed, due to multiple young children), my three young friends in the BC interior, and a concession worker at a local theatre who hadn't seen it until I told him I'd return my Junior Mints if he didn't vow to see Serenity. Though I can't guarantee that he became a Browncoat...

Not to mention all those thousands of Canadians keeping Firefly at or near the top of the DVD sales list, despite the fact that the major suppliers (e.g. Future Shop) are being ridiculously incompetent at keeping it stocked, and the fact that it costs $60 here. (Still think you want to cross over, River?) Like I've said in previous postings, the stores that ARE getting it in are getting big boxes of it that sell out within hours. Last time I checked, which was last week, there wasn't a copy to be had in the Vancouver area--not in Vancouver itself, not in Richmond. This isn't good for current or future sales, but it says something about recent ones.

Here's an Ont. resident that doesn't believe Ontario=Canada. I've been on the TCH from one coast to the other. Had relatives in Vancouver B.C. and more in St. John's NFLD. It costs as much to fly to NFLD as it does to fly to B.C.

Now if I had my own Firefly class transport...
But then I'd miss all the scenery. And it's breath taking, let me tell you.

Here, the Firefly DVD sets are on the top ten wall at HMV as the #3 DVD. $29.99Can.

New to Firefly/Serenity, but I'm in love with it. I live in the Annex in Toronto. My friend Lenore turned me on to it, and I am undertaking a project to convery all of my friends to Firefly fandom.

I have to believe, after watching the show, that Kaylee's character was based on me. :)
