I mean, seriously: that was a great show! Anybody know (or have wacky theories about) where it's gone?

No, but it's a great big universe and we're all really puny. Just tiny little specks, about the size of Mickey Rooney.

Got cancelled. By WB, not Fox, for a change. So did Pinky and the Brain.

I give to you the Seeker of Serenity, the Valkyrie Warrior, the Gourmet Cook and the Truth Scoper.

STORYMARK

I think it just ran it's course. Wrapped up in '98 or so, with their direct to video movie "Wacko's Wish."

I do with the re-runs were still on. But with the huge ammount of animation out there, I guess 3 animation-centric channels isn't enough to keep all the good stuff on the air.

I am surprised there are no DVD's yet, but then, Animaniacs followed Tiny Toons to the screen, and they still havn't made it to DVD.

Alas....

Don't know, but I knew a guy in high school who skitzed everytime you mention "Animaniacs". In other words, chairss flying around kind of mandess. The TV must of blew in his face whilst watching it probably

Warner Brothers cut back their animation studio, that's why so many of their animated shows ended.

INSANITYLATER

Animaniacs was the best Toon on tube when it was on. I grew up on old skool Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, and that was closest they ever got to GOOD humor in a cartoon. I miss it.

Also.. this is in no way Animanics or Firefly related, but I've just been looking for an excuse to post this link. I think it's one of the BEST things the net has to offer.. if you like this sort of thing.

Ya'll do know that that both Animaniacs and Pink and the Brain are getting series DVD releases next year, right?

I made a Freakazoid costume for my husband. He wore it to a party last year. This year, my son used that same costume on "DRESS LIKE A SUPERHERO DAY" at his high school. He ran around all day with his arms stretched out in front of him making woooshing noises.

Brilliant! Ah, that was a great show (although I'm still grossed out by the time the Squirrel used Siskel's (or Ebert, sorry can't remember which was which) body fat on his popcorn...

Damn, what was the Squirrel called?

(Edit: Slappy?)

Oh yeah. Slappy the Squirrel. I have three of the Animaniacs CDs. Buttons chases Mindy... while Rita sings a verse. Slappy slaps them with their purse....

It's An-a-mani... totally insaney... Animaniacs Those are the fact.

Heheeee. Good old traditional animation. Thank your CGI special effects and the like, as the new media, that replaced hand drawn. Not bitter or anything... serious... but sometimes that's how it goes.

For raw, animated fun, there's always the news that 'Drawn Together' has been picked up for a third season on the Comedy Channel. As raunchy and horrible un-PC that show is... it sure makes me laugh.

What season is the Simpsons currently on? Heh. Then there's South Park.... look of cut outs but it's computer generated too.

It's early and I'm rambling off subject, but if they did a cartoon show of Serenity.... I think having an animated Jayne and Wash might be too much. For some reason, I would see it coming across as the Scooby Doo Gang.

(edit: My fav. song from all those CDs are the 50 states.... heheee... Wacko loses the game of Jeopardy because he didn't name all 50 states and their capitols in the form of a question. Brilliant!)

Speaking of cartoons and Scooby Doo, has anyone seen the cartoon Johnny Bravo? VERY funny! There is a crossover where Johnny meets the Scooby Doo crew. Absolutely a must see for old school Scooby Doo fans. New fans will like it too.

If the DVD goes welll, I will have my Freakazoid...

Umm ^_^;; Yea, Freakazoid was always above Animanics in the favorite WB cartoon show.
It made me laugh on the ground holding my stomach...Animanics merely made me laugh out loud.

Animaniacs and Freakazoid? Classic! Too bad you just can't find toons like that anymore.Anybody remember when Slappy the Squirrel tortured her chipmunk neighbor by putting an empty can in her trashcan over and over again? Hi-larious. Also the Chicken Boo skits were oddly amusing. (He would star in movies and nobody would notice til the end that he was a chicken!)Thanks for the memories...

I LOVED the Animaniacs. And Pinky & The Brain
I think they did run their course.
(Didn't Animaniacs win a Peabody or something?)
The parodies were genius.
