Okay, I didn't know I was so big into Firefly, but now I am going on my 2nd week since I borrowed out my DVDs. yes, I did it, to help out with the cause, and now I am freaking out. I am getting the shakes and am downloading podcasts and searching the web voraciously for fan films and trailers and boards and oh my. I just realized, I must be a fangirl....

(puts hands to face in despair or pleasure?)

Serenity the novelization.

Finding Serenity edited by Jane Espenson (collection of essays about Firefly including one by Jewel Staite (Kaylee)

There may be stuff waiting on a shelf just for you to find it.

you can ask for them back like yesterday...or you can break down and buy that second set you know you are going to buy...lol..

and believe me.. I bought several cus I will NOT loan them out.. I must watch an episode every other day or soo..

you might try the soundtrack from the TV show, tho I find that just makes me want to watch the show.. so it MAY creat greater longing rather than fill the void...

I was just about to loan my set out to a friend, but then I realized I can't make it a day without watching at least one episode. I feel your pain, I really do. I got the soundtrack to the show, thinking it would lessen my dependance on watching the show, but it just makes me want to watch it more. lol Oh dear, I really do have a problem, but can you think of a better problem to have?

Know exactly what you are going through. I lived in fear they would never return the week I lent my DVD's out. I'm become very addicted to the BDM series and movie and I'm a proud addict.

When I got them back I had to see every episode again just to reassure myself that the DVDs were OK.

The only solution to this addiction is to purchase a second set of DVD's. Ordered them late last week and they should arrive Monday or Tuesday and I'll start lending the DVDs out again. They are an early Christmas present to myself.

I'll also purchase at least 2 copies of the BDM besides presents.

ONLYFOOTPRINTS

Don't lend them out. Invite friends over to watch them with you. I lent out my Firefly DVDs and then freaked out too when suddenly I wanted to watch them and couldn't. I have them all back now and everything is all nice and shiny again. I see more and hear more in every scene each time I watch. No cure wanted.

So its almost 11pm here, no chance of going out to the stores and buying stuff. Oh and the damn comic was sold out!!!!!

I did order another set of DVDS thru amazon.com (for my dad at x-mas), oh and also ordered two copies of the movie, a book and the soundtrack.
I calmed my 'tremors' a bit by heading to televisionwithoutpity.com. They used to do recaps (or aka recraps) of Firefly while it was still on Faux. Just got done reading the recap for Serenity part 1 and 2. This is tiding me over, for now. ;^)

That's why I'm planning on loaning it one dvd at a time. That way it's not so dangerous, and I keep my addiction at check.

Also, the movie novellization, visual companinon AND the magazine help.

Heres what I did... I'm always lending out my copy... If I had 2 copies I would always have 2 copies lent out... If I had 3 copies.... (you get the idea.) So with that I burned my box set to my hard drive. Perpetual fan harvesting while still watching Firefly when ever I want. Heres a bonus... the clarity of my 21" LCD computer moniter is better than any non plasma, non lcd TV out there.

Gelassenheit - I'm new to the whole being a fanatic fan thing, so I resisted the whole idea of fanfic as too weird. But finally I gave in and I've found it hella entertaining and even a bit addictive. Try ScrewtheAlliance's Kaylee's Lament for a start - wicked good writer there!
