So I'm taking a liking to these threads where we say our favorite romantic, aw moments, so I want to ask everyones gut busting funny moments. I can't pick just one, so I'll ask the top three.

mine
1)Mal's joke on Simon and then we see em all laughing so hard...I was laughing right with em.

2)When Wash Busts out with "Some people juggle geese" for the second time.

3)"How drunk was I last night?"
"I don't know, I passed out."
This is a tiny moment but it just makes me laugh so hard every time.

And for good measure, I'm just going to add Washs face in Jaynestown when the whole bar starts singing the hero of Canton.

EARLYSUMMER

1)After seeing Jayne's statue for the first time
Simon:"Son of a Bitch" - perfect punch line for the whole cussing conversation with Kaley. (Jaynestown)

2)Jayne: "That's why I never kiss them on the mouth". That line totally caught me off guard. (Our Mrs.Reynolds)

3)River: "By the way, I can kill you with my brain". The look on Jayne's face was hilarious. (Trash)

Those 3 are just off the top of my head, but really there's just too many to rank.

Don't forget the immortal classic "I'll be in my bunk".

Y'know even though Wash was "the funny one" it's seems most of the funniest lines have come from Jayne.

Book: Special hell...

Inara: I fell down is all!

Zoe: This is something Captain has to do for himself.
Mal: No it's not!

So many more!!!!

Say no more. Evil's still afoot and I'm almost out of that Nancy-bot hair-gel that I like so much. Quickly to the Angelmobile, away!

Definitely what DC4BS said,

Heart of Gold -
Mal: They're whores.
Jayne: I'm in!

That totally cracked me up.

Serenity-
When the fed has River and is holding the ship hostge and Mal just walks in and shoots him, classic :)

And from the film...

Select to view spoiler:

Mal: Do you wanna run this ship?
Jayne: Yes!
Mal: Well... you can't!

That was probably the moment I knew I was gonna wanna see theis film again, and again... and I hadn't even heard of FIrefly at that point!

Love all the above - definately classics...but I also like the quieter ones that almost slip by...

1. In Mrs. Reynolds: Kaylee (about Mal) - "He makes everybody cry."

2. In The Message: Zoey's line about stealth and silence when Mal comes blasting & screaming and she says calmly "Course there are other schools of thought..." I kinda snorted over that one. Love the follow-up from Mal "They don't like it when you shoot at 'em - figured that out myself!"

3. In Jaynestown: Zoey to Wash "Why, is that Jayne Cobb? Pinch me I must be dreaming" Jayne "I'll pinch you".

They almost slip past without notice which makes them even funnier!

"See, this is another sign of your tragic space dementia, all paranoid and crotchety. Breaks the heart."

There's a little bit in "War Stories" where Jayne says, "I'll be in my bunk" for the second time, and then Zoe comes in and says, "Jayne, grab your weapon."
It's the subtle funny that gets me.
Also, Mal's double take when he first sees Jayne in his goggles in "Jaynestown." Classic.

"Now somethin' about that is just downright unsettlin'."

The very last bit in War Stories, where Jayne says "Hey, free soup", and thoughtlessly gives bruised and battered Mal a friendly slap in the chest. Kills me every time.

Our Mrs. Reynolds -
Kaylee says, "He makes everyone cry. He's like a monster."

Mal: "I'm NOT a monster!"
Just the look on his face, and his dismay, and his complete lack of control over the entire situation, kills me everytime.

Oh there are so many good ones. Off the top of my head...

In Out of Gas when they're all sitting around the table and the cake is on the table and Kaylee is talking about how she tried to make the frosting as chocolatey as possable they turn the cameria back on Simon, and Jayne is trying to sneak a bit of the frosting off and Mal smacks him. (much funnier then I make it sound) It's such a small little moment but I just love it. It's kinda' like the "Hey, free soup." moment at the end of War Stories.

I also love scene in The Message where Mal and Zoe are telling Inara the story about Tracy stealing the mustache. That story always makes me laugh.

And of course, toward the beginning of War Stories, when Mal yells at Kaylee and River "One of you is going to fall and die and I'm not cleaning it up."

Our Mrs Reynolds in general is a hi-larious episode. One of my favorite scenes is right there at the beginning, the whole: "I married me a horrable ugly creature." "How can you say that about me, how can you..." You know what I'm talking about. I love that bit. I have my computer set up so it plays that whole bit of dialoge when I turn it on.

Oh there are so many good ones. But I'll stop with those, for now.

I must confess that the "grab your weapon" line passed right over me. My favourite moments are
"my days of not taking you seriously are definately coming to middle" in OMR.
"Mercy is the act of a great man - guess I'm just a good one - well I'm alright". in Shindig
I'm sure there must be lots I've forgotton about.

Man: I'm sure if you require one any gentleman here will loan you the use of their sword.
Mal: Usavawhat?

I love that line.

Mal's "Hunh" in Serenity when he see's River for the first time. Also when River scares him when she wakes up from Cryo.

or this gem:

Mal: If I knew that I would do the job for free.
Zoe: Then can I have your share?
Mal: No.
Zoe: If you die can I have your share?
Mal: Yes.

or:
Simon: This must be what going crazy feels like.

or:

Wash: I think it captured his essence.
Kaylee: I think he looks angry.
Wash: Kinda what I meant.

and:
Kaylee: Every where I go his eyes keep following me. <-Said while moving back and forth, gets me everytime.

and:
River: My food is problematic.

and finally:
Jayne: Whatcha all order a dead guy for?

Just a few of my favorites... But of course there are a **** load more.

Well, most of you beat me to my favorites, but one has been overlooked!

The first scene in Trash where Mal is sitting naked on a rock in the middle of a desert. I just love the way the camera pans in towards him and he says "Yep. That went well."

There are so many great ones.

"I'll be in my bunk."
----
"I hit my head is all."
-----
"I call it 'Vera'."
------
"I can kill you with my brain."
-------
Inara: What did I tell you about barging into my shuttle?
Mal: That it was manly and impulsive?
Inara: Yes, precisely, only the exact phrase I used was "don't".
-----
Jubal Early: Where'd she go?
Simon: I can't keep track of her when she's not incorporeally possessing a spaceship. Don't look at me"
-----
Zoë: Captain'll come up with a plan.
Kaylee: Well, that's good... right?
Zoë: Possibly you're not recalling some of his previous plans.
------
Wash: Yeah, but psychic? That sounds like science fiction.
Zoë: You live on a spaceship, dear.
Wash: So?
------

There's a million of 'em, I tell you! Or at least there WOULD have been ithat many if Fox hadn't thrown a monkey wrench into Mr. Whedon's doin's. Gossa.

I love this show.

Inara: It sounds like something this crew can handle. I can't guarantee they'll handle it particularly well.
Nandi: If they've got guns and brains at all...
Inara: They've got guns.

In "Shindig," immediately after Mal punches Atherton.

What?

It's just Mal's bravado leading into the "wait, that wasn't right" reaction.

Ok So I had to go back and rewatch bits of the series for this but here it goes:

Simon: "Oh my god- You're like a trained ape- without the training.

Jayne: "That's why I never kiss 'em on the mouth."

River: "I swallowed a bug." (Just the fact that everyone's more worried about River, when there's no reason to be.)

Oh and I can't remember exactly how it goes but when Simon and Kaylee are sitting there drinking and Mal decides it's time for everyone to leave. The way Mal and Kaylee are talking as if Simon's not even sitting there.

It was something like this.
Kaylee: Now captain? But things are going so...well.
Mal: Well? Oh..._well!_

Where to start? I'd love to quote the BDM but I don't know how to hide the spoilers yet, so...

Mal: I swear by my pretty floral bonnet, I will end you. (actually that whole exchange)

Mal: But she was naked and all - articulate!

Mal: C'mon Inara, how's about we don't play. You didn't trip, did you.
Inara: No.
Mal: Well how do you like that. I knew you let her kiss you!

Mal: I believe that women's planning to shoot me again.
Jayne: I've got an idea; why don't we shoot her first?
Wash: It IS her turn...

Early: You're not in my gorram mind, you're on my gorram ship!

And finally maybe my all-time favorite,

Zoe: We're goin' to get the captain back.
Jayne: Whaddya gonna do, clone him?

The main one that springs to mind is the last sentence uttered in Firefly by Jubal Early in Objects in space. He is floating around in space after being pushed by Mal and all he says is:

'Well, here I am'.

Fantastic acceptance of his circumstances and how he had been out thought, as he becomes just another floating object in space.

So hard to choose, multiple lines from each episode...A few that always crack me up (not already listed):

Mal: Oh, I'm gonna go to the special hell.

Wash: We gotta go to the crappy town where I'm a hero.

River: "Day" is a vestigial mode of time measurement based on solar cycles. It's not applicable...I didn't get you anything.

River: Keep walkin', preacher man.
(after the 'hair' incident)

Jaye: Whoo! My John Thomas is about to pop off and fly around the room, there's so much tasty in here.
Wash: Would be you'd get your most poetical about your pecker.

I love the line after that as well, (qouted below, so i'm not gonna type it)

and you're all forgetting just before the 'free soup' moment, when Mal informs Zoe that she has to sleep with him, the awkward show of placing hands and zoe's deadpan 'take me now sir, take me hard'

It only very amusing until Jayne come through the door (the look on his face) and then it's just downright the rib-ticklingest thing i've seen

Another one for me is the 'Kaylee's dead' line from Mal. I remember that Joss planned to have a main character killed off in the first episode of Buffy, which he did but didn't have the dosh to make a false startup sequence with that actor in. Now I as I am sure most of you did, I liked Kaylee right from the start, so I got fooled completely by that one. The reaction from seeing other people watching those scenes is they all have a baffled look on their face.

Some of the funniest stuff in the show is the non-verbal acting. I think it's a very big part of what makes it so good.

Jaynes face as he rips off the tape in the beginning of Jaynestown. Rriippp! 'eeek!'

Also, Jayne hurredly dumping the Tams stuff back in thier room and almost getting caught at the end of Safe.

Kaylee: (after powering down Serenity) "Uh oh... Now I can't get down."

Jayne: Can you hear me Captain?
Mal: I'm standing right here.

There are many great ones, some mentioned above and some not, like in OMR, something along the lines of:

"Whoa! Good Bible!"

and in HoG, when Mal says to Inara:

"This distress wouldn't happen to be takin' place in someones pants, would it?"

which is one of my favourites, then theres also the one in OiS which someone already mentioned, with Jayne waking up and pulling off the sheet covering his guns, then putting it over himself and going back to sleep.
That's just a few off the top of my head.
