Poor JadeHand!

What a terrible life you lead!

:wiink:

Well, I just got back from our staff lunch. It was nice. There really wasn't anything on the menu that I could eat (it was mostly seafood), so I asked the waiter to ask the chef to make me something vegetarian. I never know what I'm going to get, but today I got yummy. Grilled veggies with these yummy mashed potatoes. Everything was tasty tasty. A woman at the table next to mine tried to order it and the waiter told her she couldn't have it. And then, I had cappuccino creme brule for dessert. Divine!

I feel ready for a nap now, but I have 3 more hours to plow througb.

I don't want to buy it right now. I have a sneaky suspicion I'm getting it as a gift. if not, I'll be out after Christmas for Serenity, widescreen of course, and the Firefly soundtrack. HMV or Best buy should have them both.

I won't buy any thing from Amazon again. Everything I've ordered ended up being delayed then cancelled.

Well, at this point we have a very basic disc. with a handful of bonus features. Other places get more features and spiffier boxes and all. I wasn't trying to be mean and rub it in. I love the movie but the DVD compared to what I'm hearing others will get, feels like an Alpha version. Maybe we'll get another release with 2-discs and more extras, full gag reel etc. At least you have a version to watch eh?

Serenity, if seafood smells... it's bad, don't eat it. Fresh sea food doesn't smell. I know a lot of people that have said they don't like seafood. I find mostly its because they've never had it cooked properly.

But being a vegetarian would make this whole arguement moot, wouldn't it?

To make a post semi-relevant to the orginal, original topic of the whole hidey-placeness:

In past hidey threads I've mentioned my cousin. He's the "bad boy" type. He's generally a jerk to women and feels they are inferior to men.

Now to what puzzles me: women flock to him. Just in the past two weeks he's received phone numbers women have practically force on him and several dates, which I of course find in bad taste because he has a girlfriend who's carrying his baby (i think that will be over soon). One of the girls is almost worshipping him, and she's the type of girl everyone always tells you "don't even try with her, you have no chance."

Maybe he's just that much more attractive than I am...I dunno. I'd say he's a good looking guy. It further puzzles (and amazes) me, though, when I'm often told by the females around me that I'm definitely good looking, or hot, or sexy or somesuch other provocative term, but I certainly don't have some mysterious animal lure or the like. The girls always say they have no idea why I'm still single with the way I look and how they're sure I would treat my gf which they often describe as "like gold" or "as a goddess."

Sure, not every factor can even be quantified, but it's maddening. My cousin and I hang out quite often...regardless of how he treats them, the females always spend way more attention to him than me. I don't even know where I'm going with this anymore ;D /me scurries away

I think the initial thing that the women flock too is probably the confidence - not that you ain't confident (certainly got no qualms about kissin' in public anyway)

But he'll probably over-power your quiet charm with his 'come get me ladies i'm a sex god (ad. nauseum)' vibes.

Plus, and the sooner this finally gets through the better...

some. women. are. . in. the. head.

Mind you, lot of men ain't quite right either...

Speaking of men who aren't quite right, I have returnethed.

I knew a girl, she was in to the bad boy type, then she got pregnant and fell for a 'nice guy'. Maybe there's some darwin stuff going on, bad boy genes could mean a good survivor, nice guys good for looking after the kids. I mean after all to an extent we're all a product of our genetic programming. Just a crazy thought I had at midnight.

there was a programme on the telly not so long ago, Jeremy Clarkson on the invention of the telephone, and some woman came on and made the comment (while Jeremy was checking out the rack, natch) that although we are furiously running amok with all this space age technology, our brains are still, essentially, livin' up the cave life.

So what you said about the bad guy survivor and the nice guy nurturer actually makes sense.

Of course, it also totally disregards what little brainage we have going for us, and means that for all the progress we've made as a species, we may as well be right back in the jungle rubbing our butts against each others like excitable Bonobo's because, hell, they at least appear to be having fun.

I still maintain that women scare me.
