COSMICFUGITIVE

Welcome to the 'verse DarkLighter9!

Yup. There's an acre of us fellas on this site. I'm from central Scotland. (Near Edinburgh.)

You may want to check out the 'Team Random' threads in the community. ('General discussions'.) A lot of U.K Browncoats hang out there. We discuss upcoming U.K Serenity conventions and lots of random stuff too. It's wacky fun!

Also, there's a Browncoat world map on the site, which can be found here:

http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=5&t=15806

Glad to see another U.K Browncoat join the ranks.

Keep flyin'!

- Cos.

Nice to hear that other UK Browncoats come to this site.

You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take a boat in the air you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home." Mal, BDM

Hey to you, Darklighter9, and all fellow UK Browncoats. :waves:

I live in Leicester. Which is like a smaller and rainier version of Manchester, and feels as far from the shiny 'verse as one can get.

But, you can't take the sky from me.

Hey fellow GREAT Briton's!

I'm from what I'm sure all of you will agree is the best city in the UK; Southampton! Woo!

*cough* Uh, yeah, I live in a little town just outside of Southampton anyway. Called Hedge End - that's right, if you've ever seen a really long hedge and thought, where does that end? Now you know.
The village next to us is called Botley, which I'm told is a word used by some shiny folks further north to mean 'idiot'.

End.

Liverpool, up norf, on the left, I've heard of all these places ('cept Hedge End - oh I love England), but my geography is crap, so not to sure where they all actually are.

As Far as I know there are two other people in this area who are fans, though not quite browncoats, but they are all i've found so far.

But I'm so glad you guys are all on here! yey!

Not far at all, oh thats so funny, I was beginning to think that I was the only openly declared Browncoat/general Geek on this goatforsaken little outcrop. (why in hells name does 'i'm the only gay in the village' keep popping into my head?)

I'm from Birkenhead, always usually say Liverpool as no-one has ever heard of Birkenhead unless they are a Lily Savage devotee.

I'm determined to find more people (two, undeclared so far) there must be some more, I think being stuck in the chav end of the town doesn't help, but never say never.

Well, when Slither comes out we'll have work on lasso-ing in as many Nathan fans as we can (I can round up maybe those two) and go see, En (mini) masse!

Yeh I say Liverpool as since people will just ask 'Where the goramn is Birkenhead?'.

I bought my friend Firefly for christmas and kept hassling him to watch it. 1 day he called me and said he was going to watch the pilot but watched 3 disks back to back LOL. He thinks Firefly is much better than Serenity and I'm trying to convince him to go to the Starfury Con. at the end of April. So he is almost a Browncoat :)

East London, here.

We all speak like the Queen, live in castles, and The Cavern, where the Beatles played, is at the end of my road...

I can't help feeling you're all missing out on the true glory of Birkinhead, pronounced in a Scouse accent. Beeeh kin Ed.

Those 3 es are the sound of a single e stretched out and mixed with a bit of u.

I can also speak perfect Geordie, for the benefit of Mrs G and to try and put her relatives at ease. The veiled death threats suggest I've not been entirely successful.

However, I am better (in my own mind) at accents than Don Cheadle in Ocean's Eleven. What in the Wide World of Sports was that accent supposed to be? Swipe me bandy with a cold kipper if I didn't nearly choke on me plate of jellied eels, guv.

Before you ever try speaking Mockney like that again, spend a few years as Dick Van Dyke's padawan first. Even in a heist movie, that was just criminal. Blimey, strike a light etc etc.

G

Unfortunately all that sounds a bit crap in a Scottish accent.

ooooh, don't do that accent.

Besides, letters can never convey its true rep... glory, as there are a lot more guttural noises involved. Like J's on the continent, snotty h's... see? letters are no good.

Something like Beeeur (sound like someone preparing to spit)en 'ed.

An Englishmans home is his castle -I just wish they came with moats and drawbridges... (where is that quote from)

Wow, you live in london, and the Cavern is at the end of the road? good road...

Don't forget that we all have bubble perms and are intimetly related to the Beatles.

Thats so cool, (about your friends conversion) i've managed to get most of my family interested, though I would never get them to a con, they just aint that relaxed.

Closest I can get.

"House numbers are at best highly discreet, and at worst completely obscured by creepers or porches, or left off altogether.

I asked taxi drivers why this might be. One gave an astute response: "An Englishman's home is his castle, right? He can't actually have the moat and drawbridge, but he can make it bloody difficult to get to."
