I am a program assistant for a non-profit agency. I work on regional and state conferences that focus on community economic development.

At some point, I would like to become a program manager here for some cultural initiatives. This is pushing me towards getting a graduate degree in non-profit management.

I love that we are so diverse!

In real life? Well, I am a Corporate Travel Counsellor... that means I am a travel agent who deals with big-wigs from companies that have huge spending accounts to send their big-wigs to places like Calgary, Denver and Santa Clara...

This is a relatively recent gig for me though. I worked for 10 years in IT/software support in systems distribution. Anyone who has ever worked a Helpdesk will know that the politics, in-fighting, back-stabbing and general nonsense is the same no matter where you go. I have just discovered that those same traits are abound in travel too... lucky me!

I would like to drop this gig in favour of my real passion- writing, but alas, that is still a pipe dream until I can squirrel away more cashola.

I'm 33 years old and have enjoyed a lifetime of geekdom that started with Star Trek and all sorts of supernatural shows and books while growing up. I'm a die hard X-Phile but Joss and all he touches is top of the list, over-the-moon, fabulous.

I find it so wonderful that we have such splendid diversity... great tv brings the great together!

Ching-wah TSAO duh liou mahng. Shiny.

i'm a freelance writer, rusting away up here in portland, oregon. used to write poetry, but now i write mostly for corporations and non-profits.

never even heard of 'firefly' till i saw 'serenity.' bought the dvd set, fell in love, then into the many stages of loss - denial, anger, depression, etc. - once i found out fox had cancelled the show. felt like i was 3 years late to a really great wake. i long for what might have been like a meth addict.

what else. love my wife, our 5 cats, and our place in the woods. when i'm not writing, i'm watching tv or chilling outside with the crew or riding my motorcycle or cooking. oh, and i've watched the series and film so many times now i'm pretty close to being able to recite every line. pretty scary.

Fascinating--there is such a huge variety out here.

I'm a mom w/ one little boy at home and another in Kindergarten. Before I had the kids I was a computer specialist/fieldworker (I preferred fieldwork but only got out once in a while (sigh)) for our state's department of natural resources. I miss being in my chosen field of work but I do like (usually) being home w/ the kids too lol. Oh and I got my B.S. in environmental bio but I really could use an M.S. if I want to get somewhere some day...don't want to think about it now lol.

With my busy life, I have taken the SLLLLLOOOOOWWWW route for school. I am 31 and am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnell. Being a Firefly/Serenity nut should be an occupation also.
