Comic stores in the US got it today, it'll start showing up in bookstores over the next week or so. Nice, nice looking package. Not much on the extras -- I was hoping for a copy of the script, or Joss' notes, or sketches, or anything -- but there's an intro by Nathan.

I preordered my copy last week from Amazon. I can't wait to get it! I enjoyed your review. It made me even more excited. Hopefully it will be waiting on my doorstep when I get home today.

Wacky fun!

So - I noticed this board gets dough if people order the DVD through Amazon. How about the trade paperback?

Although, I would need it to be Amazon.ca since I live in Canada.

I hate to say it, but why would I want another copy of these? I read them once and only once. They didn't do anything for me. They were way too short. There was next to no real content. They didn't even explain much about what happened between the series and the movie. They make me not even want to get the buffy comics that are supposed to be coming out.

In that case you might prefer the TPB, because the stories run together just about make one good episode with three acts (which is how I think of it). Reading it all at once really improves the flow of the events.

I've gotten to where I read a lot of my comics in arcs or collections instead of one by one as they come out. Easier to read, easier to store, and you get the whole story at once. It tests my patience at times, and there is the occasional cheating... :)

I sorta already did that. I didn't read them as they came out. I waited until I had all three. Mainly because I got the first one out of order because of how hard it was to track down. It still left me feeling like it wasn't worth the hassle.

I just picked it up from my local comicbook shop. They just got it in today. Barnes & Noble said they won't have it until the 28th.

I'm confused. I heard that there were three SERENITY comics. On Monday, I went with my dad to go get them, and they only had #2. The guy said that they'd have all three in one book on Wensday (today). So my dad picked it up and now I have it but it seems awfully small for three comics. It also has a "1" on the spine, as though it is only #1. It is called "Those Left Behind". Is it #1, what you're talking about, or something else? Also, what does TPB stand for?

First there was a three-issue miniseries that came out last summer, before the movie. Each one had three different covers, one for each of the cast, drawn by a different artist.

What just came out today is the trade paperback collection that reprints those three comics.

But, I'm still missing the River cover of the regular comics, issue 3. Couldn't find that one anywhere. KF

I see where you're coming from with that..but since my copies are hanging on my wall, I'm too lazy to pick them up from there if I want to read it...and I kinda want to read it or look through it for the artwork. I do that sometimes to get an idea on how to draw something or hell in this case, how to color on the comp. I can't figure out what program it is...I'm on my own boat on this one. :/

I hopefully went into my local Borders books last night overly optimistic that they would have it. I was told they won't be getting it until February 28th!! I then proceeded home, pouting, and logged onto Amazon and noticed it saying that it has not yet been released there either. Has the date been pushed back?

My gut instinct is that they're saying the 28th because they were told it would be out "in February". However, given that it is now released, I would imagine it will hit their shelves within a couple of weeks at the outside.

I'm guessing they meant January 28th. That's the answer some people (including me) have gotten from Barnes and Noble.

And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,

GUIDEWRITER

Well, I wanted it even though I already all the original issues (and all 3 cover variants of each one), because of the new cool front and back cover art, and Nathan's intro, and for something to read instead of my originals.

They're also great to give as gifts, especially to those who don't have the originals. Giving a copy to two of my friends who had their birthdays this past week who are also Firefly/Serenity fans.

Has anybody from Alabama gotten one from a store? I need this!

EDIT: I think B&N is sold out! I guess thats good for Firefly/Serenity but bad for me!

When I go to Amazon it says the title is not yet released. Does your computer screen say that as well? I have been watching the page to order when it comes out.

Just in case you are still in the dark on this subject, I thought I might enlighten you

You probably already discovered that TPB stands for Trade Paperback thanks to someone's reply, but as for your other question:
Yes it's a small book, but it does indeed contain all three issues.
The reason it has the #1 is because this is the first Serenity miniseries, with another one on the way. Whether we'll just get 2 miniseries or more is still up in the air though
