Hi! First of all, thanks for keeping this site running. Every additional Firefly box set I send off in hopes of converting a friend, I've bought through your link. Hope it helps. I would totally be in favor of a tip jar, too, if you don't have one I just haven't run across. I was wondering if you had any stats on the number of "identified" users of this site, i.e. the number of people who have registered to post. In particular, I was interested in how much this had jumped since the DVD release of Serenity, which seems to have brought me and a bunch of others into the fold. I thought it might be encouraging to find out. Thanks!

First, thank you for the donation. It really helps.

I don't have exact stats at the moment. Will need to run a WebTrend report to get you those. However, taking a guesstimate, I would say perhaps a 25% to 30% increase, though I see the numbers gradually trending downwards back to pre-Serenity numbers, which is to be expected as we wait for word from Joss and Universal about the future of Firefly/Serenity.

Currently, there are about 16,000 registered users and probably a lot more lurkers. The site averages about 60,000 pageviews per day, with the current monthly total at a little over 1.5 million pageviews (I don't have the bandwidth numbers, but it's up there because of all the images FFF.NET hosts). Relative to the official sites and others, it's not a lot, but it's comfortable for a small site.

With FFF.NET's existing hardware (two dual Xeons) and the 10Mbps pipe that she has, we do have capacity to grow if there's a sequel and we begin to pick up more visitors.

For an un-official site, FFF.NET has done okay all these years. And I would like to emphasize that a large part of the reason is because of all the Browncoats who visit daily. FFF.NET merely provides the means, you Browncoats are her soul.

There are a lot of adventures left in the 'verse, just hold steady, and FFF.NET will definately be there with you all when we go on them again.

Hiya Haken! 'Tis an honor to be here on this shiny refuge for Browcoats fleeing Alliance oppression.

Some who tread these halls say Joss is god, but I've been lobbying lately on the premise that it's really YOU who takes top honors since 'tis you who feeds us constantly, Joss, only sporadically, though he does the best he can, I'm sure.

Fireflyfans.net is home to me, to my fanfic, to my pals' fanfic, to the best chatroom on Earth That Is, to the best artists' renderings of the Big Damn Heroes, to question/answer threads that ask and tell it all, to News We Need To Know, to "not stopping the signal", to SereniTREE, to....so many shiny and wondrous people to see, things to do and places to go.

Thankee, Sai, Haken. Hail to thee. (Insert some small amount of groveling and genuflecting here.)

I shall put money where my typing fingers are by sending a PayPal portion when my job adds to my coffers in a few days.

Glad to hear the stats are jumping...if the new recruits can do as well with spreading word of mouth as the longtime soldiers have...well, I'm optimistic.

Sorry, one more question. Does it help the site if we click through the links in the Google ads, or does it not matter. Opening a few links per visit is easy to do if it bumps your revenue up a bit.
