Silly I know, but who do you think would rise from the ashes of combat?

I'm sorry to say, Kaylee wouldn't last a second. Leia's trash talking alone would have Kaylee's shiny confidence in shreds.

Obviously Kaylee...

While walking up to Leia:
"Oh my! How did you get your hair up in those shiny buns like that?"

**CRACK!**

Kaylee brings the huge wrench up and whacks Leia upside the head with it.

"Call my ship a piece of gossi will you?"

i'm a browncoat, tried and true, but leia would dominate in a fight. kaylee isn't a fighter, leia is.

the fight (if you can even call it that) would last 30 seconds, tops.

this isn't to say that i don't love kaylee with all of my heart, but it wouldn't even be close.

. . .Kaylee is my favorite character, but Leia would beat the hell out of her. Even if Kaylee had a wrench. And Leia had just insulted Serenity.

Now, Zoe vs. Leia . . .there's a rough one to call.

Are you kidding? Zoe would beat the shit of of Leia. We are talking about the same Leia right, the one who screams like a baby when she see's the Mynock from inside the Millenium Falcon while stuck in that asteroid in ESB??

I think a Leia vs Inara would be a fairer match. Both elegant, regal, but still with combat training.

Inara vs Leia would indeed be an interesting match, but not so much as Inara vs Lando Calrission. Who's the ultimate player?

Leia beats Kaylee...she's the best shot around, and Kaylee can't bring herself to pull the trigger.

Zoe kicks the living snot out of Leia.

Inara and Leia...hmmm, tough one. Breaks about even.

Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!

my first instinct is to say leia, but then i remember how determined kaylee can be when given proper motivation... ("you mean to say... sex?")

so i don't know. i like 'em both and would root for either side.
yeah and zoe would so kick leia's ass.

Gotta be Kaylee if she lasts through all of Leia's indimidation. A prissy princess over a hardened mechanic? Please. That being said, I don't think I'd last five minutes with either.

Prissy Princess?

Sure, and experienced soldier and leader of an intergalactic uprising.

And if we talking Leia in the post-movie novels, she has Jedi training as well.

As much as I love Kaylee, I think the one called Lady Vader would wipe the floor with her.

Though I'd certainly like to see Kaylee borrow Leia's gold bikini....

Oh, I shudder to think.

I will say this, though: Leia harms one hair on our little mechanic's head...

Well, let's just say she'll be wishing she were in the special hell when I'm through with her ;p

I think that if Leia did attack Kaylee, Leia would be attacked by:

Jayne
Mal
Book
River
Zoe
Simon
Wash...
and all the Browncoats. She'd be killed.

No point in her even trying.

I can see Leia get a kick(knocking famous wrench out of hand) and a punch(knocking famous mechanic on ground)and then Zoe would blow her away from her hidden spot on the catwalk. Really now how far away is Kaylee from someone stronger at any point in time?

And as Inara and Leia go I see a fancy ball where the only weapons in sight are the pretty swords hanging on the wall and well then we know what happens, Leia dies and Inara gets flustered because her great dress has blood on it.

I think you're right. Those jedi types have too many rules. You're telling me that Jayne would let Leia even get close to Kaylee? And we all know which way Jayne's moral compass points.

I don't think it's a question of anything other than hardware. The weapons from Star Wars fire slow (relative term) moving energy bolts, with a slow repeat rate. The weapon Kaylee has when fighting the Reavers is a good solid gun.

If Leia doesn't get Kaylee in the first shot (that is if she even gets a first shot) she's screwed. And flashy as blasters may be they don't always kill people in one shot so Kaylee can still be pumping Leia full of too many bullets to count while she's on the ground in pain.

-

Now getting Kaylee into a killing mood would be a lot more difficult.

-

If it were a hand fight Kaylee wins no problem, Mechanic trumps diplomat.

Kaylee vs. almost anyone else in a hand to hand fight, save Luke back when he was the farm boy and non-combatant droids, she looses.

You all are sadly misguided.

Kaylee has no chance 1v1 with Leia. Remember when they rescued Mal from Niska? She wouldn't put a fist up.

Leia v Zoe? Leia wouldn't even try.

Leia v Inara? Depends. Hand to hand, get me the popcorn 'cause clothes are coming off. Guns/crossbow? Probably Inara. Star Wars blasters are notorious for not hitting people.

Leia v Wash? Leia.

Leia v Mal? If she's got the right lipstick.

Leia v Jayne? She's a princess, and she's got lots of money. Leia bribes him, and then dumps Hans Solo for him.

Leia v Book? Book kicks her ass for talking about dark, demonic powers of the force. Either that or he brings up his lecture with lepers.

Leia v Simon? Leia.

Leia v River? Hmmm.... The obvious answer is River, but I don't know. Something tells me the only way that one can end is in Inara's bed.

Remember when Kaylee simply blew away the Reavers who were up high and to the left? The argument you made would work and i would agree wholeheartedly were it not for the fact that the movie Serenity exists.

But now we know that Kaylee can kill people, and more importantly she has a gun that shoots straight and shoots fast. That puts Leia in the ground right there.

When it comes to hand to hand, we've not seen Kaylee do it, but we have seen (a very little bit of) Leia, and all things considered I think any mechanic can probably beat her.

Again I am forced to ask, did you see Serenity?

I mean come on. We can pick and choose all we want but if you don't look at the whole picture why bother with a hypothetical at all? If you are not going to think about it why not just start a topic called, "Say 'Leia'," or, if you lean the other way, "Say 'Kaylee'"?

But she hit them, more to the point we know that she fires with greater accuracy than Leia (scary considering how bad that makes Leia) and even if she did miss 90% of the time she could still hit Leia repeatedly before Leia could fire a second round. (Let's face it, with Leia the first would miss.) Her gun is better, and in this case that's more important.

Alright, I'll concede the point (assuming Kaylee has the proper motivation to actually fire) of firearms. What about hand to hand? I can't remember any Leia hand-to-hand combat. Then again, I can't remember any Kaylee hand to hand either. My instinct tells me Leia would win, even against a wrench. I can't see Kaylee getting her body behind a blow.

However, I think the more important question is:
Which character would WANT Leia to kick his/her ass?
My answer: Jubal Early. He seems the type. Probably Wash, too.

I'll have to double check it but I seem to remember that Leia had (very little but) very, very unimpressive hand to hand after she strangled Jabba.

Kaylee never has had any.

Really it hits me like this, Leia is two things: a diplomat and a leader. Kaylee is a mechanic. Just going on those which do you think would win? Kaylee ain't weak.

CYBERSNARK

Are we talking about Leia circa the Galactic Civil War (i.e., the movies), the Thrawn Trilogy (New Republic Minister of State), the Dark Empire comics (where she fought Dark-Luke to a standstill while pregnant), the Corellian Trilogy (where she took Luke apart in front of witnesses), the New Rebellion (where she defeated a mutant Force-wielding Hutt twice her size), the NJO era (older and slower, but still frighteningly lethal), or the Dark Nest trilogy (as apprentice to Saba Sebatyne)?

'Course, I'd be more interested in a battle of dumbass/badass sarcasm between Jayne and Master Sebatyne. Saba's my new favourite Star Wars character.
